Cancelling a two year membership after dealing with a rude employee. When signing up was told that it was for full and total access to everything it the gym. Two years later when wanting to finally use the tanning bed before a vacation find that they are now charging for this ? The employee seemed more concerned with the computer then taking care of people. He was rude and argumentative and while giving me a 4:58 minute tan considered this a courtesy. He was supposed to set a timer for room 1 for 15 minutes and ended up setting it for the wrong room. He was concerned more about being right than taking care of a customer. His attitude quite frankly pissed me off. Tanning was to be included in the membership when trying to explain this he didn’t want to hear of it. Hope it was worth it my membership is done.

Great gym for those serious about working out. Classes for those who are inspired by group workouts. And plenty of weights, equipment, and treadmill type machines for solo workouts.

The cardio cinema room is soo cool. You watch a movie while working out. I do have a problem with staff not visiting this room being that it is dark and someone might fall etc. This gym has all of the normal equipment but does not have up to date items such as a sauna or a pool. This place serves its purpose and it does have many classes to enjoy, so its cool.

Was visiting from out of town. Staff were efficient and helpful in helping me sort out my travel pass even though I called 15 min before arrival. Love the clean, modern appearance. I attended the core/abs and blast/step classes on a Saturday morning which were a great workout and the instructors were quite friendly and helpful.

Worst gym I’ve ever been in. They won’t let me cancel my contract unless I pay $ 89 for me plus $ 89 for my husband which they never told us to do so when we signed up. If you want to find a good place to work out, don’t waste your time and money coming here! I wish I had read the reviews before.

In addition to the review here on their cancelation process. Even after you send them a certified letter with proof of moving. They charge you $ 89 that they never mention during the application process. And forget your calls being returned… Chased them for two weeks to make the cancellation happen. Bill, the manager there will jump head over foot when you’re signing up or while a member. Moment you move and have to cancel, the customer service tanks.

I have been a member in GOODSTANDING with Gold’s Gym on and off for almost 10 years. All of a sudden I get a phone call yesterday from a collections agency stating that I am over 90 days past due on my account. I drove to Gold’s Gym last night to resolve the problem. I was informed by two different employees that the primary credit card on the account had expired, however they both also stated that there was also a valid credit card on file that I provided but the individual who input the credit card information put it in the incorrect field and the automatic draft was unable to withdraw from the correct credit card due to the employee’s error. At this point my account is 90 days past due and has additional late fees. In good faith, we paid the three months past due on the account. The young girl and gentleman were very compassionate and said I did not need to pay the late fees because it was clearly not my fault. They assured me that their manager would call me back to resolve the issue today and that she would gladly contact the collections agency to let them know that I had paid the past due amount in person at the facility. I never heard from the manager so I decided to reach out to her. When she answered the phone she was immediately curt and clearly in no mood to discuss my problems. I was put on the defensive. She was extremely unprofessional from a customer service standpoint, she did not listen to my issue and continued repeating that I would have to take it up with the collections agency because it was out of her hands. She did not once apologize for the error on Gold’s Gym’s part and tried to hang up on me at one point. She insisted that she emailed me(never happened), sent me letters(never happened) and called me. It then dawned on me that I did receive cryptic automated voicemails that I did not pay attention to seeing that I have much more important things to worry about than an odd voicemail that was difficult to decipher. Despite this fact, regardless of their attempts, the error was still on the part of Gold’s Gym and she should have been extremely apologetic for my inconvenience and should have resolved the issue immediately. Managing customer service representatives myself, there is no way I would ever continue to hire an individual who would speak to a customer the way she did. After looking over the Consumer Affairs website, I see that this is the second complaint in the past two months that Michelle Plott, manager of Gold’s Gym Norcross, has received regarding her rudeness with customers. I have been a loyal customer and have always paid my account on time. I have brought 7 additional individuals to Gold’s Gym who are all still current members. I was told that I would receive some sort of benefit from recruiting individuals to Gold’s Gym and still to this day have not received even as much as a thank you. Up until this point I was not certain whether or not I would keep my membership with Gold’s Gym, however after my conversation with Michelle Plott, manager, I have sent my certified letter(per their requirement) to cancel my membership and will never support nor refer Gold’s Gym in the future. I have been a member at LA Fitness in the past and have never had to deal with the hassles of poor customer service, difficulties canceling a membership or credit card errors. I am amazed that the franchisee of this Gold’s Gym(and two others in the Atlanta area) would allow such a hostile individual to represent their company. And I look forward to filing a formal complaint with Gold’s Gym International, Inc. Corporate Office Headquarters. Please find the contact information below. 125 E. I would have a hard time recommending this gym to anyone because of how they handle cancellations. I can cancel my cell phone, cable service, or power/gas/water over the phone… but to cancel my Gold’s Gym membership… I have to send a certified letter. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. If you’re thinking about joining, make sure to read all of the fine print before you sign on the dotted line…

the female manager at this location is amazing(RUDE) after kept me waiting for 20min although she was helping someone. but she should’ve acknowledge there’s other people are waiting. And when comes my time for her to assisted me she has the nerve to questioning me as if she questioning the employee’s who’ under her. my conctract is over in 2 months of 2 years conctract and only workout less than 20 times throughout the 2 years. but because it open 24 hrs but closed on Fri-Sat evening. i don’t mind but after her mistreatement to me as a member at her gym I decided to cancel it and although she told me i could use the gym for the remaining 2 months til expire of my contract I would but does she thinks I still want to see her face. Gold gym should hire a better person with better poeple skill than this manager as she claims. i have never contact with other employee so I can’t comment on that. and the whole time i waited even her employee at counter were shaking their head because I was kept waiting so long with no sign of her knowing i am there. and the stupid manager has the guts to slammed my credit card on counter when asked me to sign. I want her to know that she was lucky as a women otherwised my credit would’ve been on her face’ don’t waste your money because you will not be appreciated except the little cheap tag to identify who you are. the bathroom always smells like unrine and the equipement is worn out and alot of machine is not even operable and they requires you to pay &29.95 for yearly maintenance fee’s. I over look it because i can go whenever i can why my plane and my friends live around that area and that’s the closest gym available. Just want to let everyone’s know the manager at this location is imazing(RUDE). give fitness or La fitness a try same price better service and planet fitness really open 24 hrs a day except on holidays i was there member for 2 years no issue at all and is alot cleaner than this gold’s gym

I joined Gold’s in Peachtree Corners in January 2007. Really liked it. The manager of the trainers knew how to work with me. I have a physical handicap and many trainers do not know what to do with me! However, the management changed a few years ago and things haven’t been the same. I wanted to change up my program and talked to a trainer. Following that program, I re-injured my surgically repaired elbow. It took a long time to get it right again. So, I avoided the trainers there. Last fall I had another issue that prevented me from working out. Contacted the manager via email and got no response. The holidays came and I did not follow up. First part of January, I went in and was told I would get a call. It was the end of January before anything was done about it. I was also charged the facility fee for 2013 because I didn’t cancel in time! I think this place is fine as long as you don’t want to quit then you may experience some problems. Also, broken equipment is not readily repaired so you can expect a shortage sometimes on some machines. Location was great for me but I will go elsewhere now.

So glad I joined this gym! I signed up under their $ 14.99/mo no frills contract including those extra gym fees now and then(which I don’t mind paying because it is a nice gym). The staff is really friendly and helpful. The people who go aren’t all meatheads/fit people so it doesn’t make me feel weird showing up. Age group ranges all over the place. I have never had to wait to use equipment which is a huge plus for me. And all of their equipment looks fairly new and in good condition. I really like their cardio cinema I have been guilty of busting my ass in the dark because I couldn’t tell if the machine was on or off lol. Luckily it was just me in there! The lady’s locker room is clean and spacious. Your membership includes one free workout with a trainer. I have not taken any special classes but have seen plenty of people take advantage of it. It’s nice you can use the room and the equipment if there are no classes being conducted. I wish they were 24/hrs on the weekends and had a lap pool but I guess that would be stretching it for $ 14.99.

Gym… tan…smoothie? Love this Gold’s location. Conveniently place between P’tree Parkway and Holcomb Bridge, it’s an easy drive from anywhere. But hey, a neighborhood gym is a neighborhood gym. They’ve got locations literally alll over the metro, so accessibility has never been an issue for me. This location, however, is doubly awesome because they’ve recently remodeled and have had a re-grand opening. Improved free-weight space, new classroom, a few more machines, etc. A real improvement from before! The staff has always been friendly. The people in personal trainer sessions always look like they’re in pain, so that’s a good sign. Their«Gold’s Gym Challenge» posters crack me up, though. The faces on the fat version of the example people are hilariously frowny. They provide a great laugh after a hard workout being on the mirrors in the locker rooms. I really like this spot as my regular gym. It would totally be my dream gym if they had like a basketball court that was never being used, a lap pool that forbid really hairy, dirty people, a jacuzzi with my name on it, and free massages. I don’t think those exist, but hey, a girl can dream can’t she?
