It’s all about customer service and advertising products and specials appropriately. Dicks falls short on this latest round. Went to store to use final day of $ 20 off any one purchase over $ 100, looked at all the items listed that were«NOTINCLUDED» and the Cubs jersey we were buying has NOT on that list. Picked up about another $ 90 worth of items and went to the register. Store manager would NOT accept the $ 20 discount. Guess us also being short by $ 10 on the other items(non Cubs jersey merchandise) didn’t warrant the $ 20 off. Hmmm, curious why he didn’t just say«sign up for email alerts and receive 10% off your $ 200 purchase… wouldn’t that of given them our another one of our emails for future promotions and we get the $ 20 off? So, very poor customer service Dicks manager. We left our merchandise at the register with the manager that stuck to their policy which we never saw anywhere in writing and left the store. Bought the jersey off Amazon. So much for shopping local. UPDATE12÷16÷15 Customer service at Dicks reacted very quickly to my concerns and tried their best to rectify. My overall review stays the same but I give kudo’s to Dicks for following up a consumers complaint.

Im a senior citizen and i came to exchange a sweatshirt for my grandson for size. The associate named Llasmine told me go back and get another one and get back in line. I then asked her if she could have someone get me the same one in medium as opposed to small. After several dirty looks she called another lady to get me the sweatshirt. She has no understanding of older people and she was real rude making nasty faces all the while as i still had to wait. Finally a young man intervened and helped me. This is the first time i encountered a snippy associate with an attitude at Dicks. I hope she leaves soon. Dicks could be better off without her. It is difficult to walk through the store when you are arthritic. I had no other needs but she didnt understand.

I like the store line in general but this location always has me a bit disappointed. Their service is so-so. They never really happen to have deals or sales that are worth ever looking for. They never really switch things around or adjust things. Mir my favorite location but it’s local so what can you do!

Went here today to buy shoes. Asics cumulus 17s. Best shoes I have ever owned. The guy was very friendly and knowledgable. And they used my 20 dollar coupon even though it said online only. Well def go back.

I have been coming here as long as they’ve been open. I’ve read people complain about lack of staff, but I’ve never had that problem. Maybe occasionally I’ve had to look for somebody. I have bought Keen’s, tennis gear, cycling gear, knives for sailing, and camping gear here. Most recently I bought a Nathan’s quick shot water bottle here. I realized after several weeks of using it that it was defective and leaked a little. I brought it back without a receipt after 4 weeks and they exchanged it no hassle. I paid 5 dollars to get a bigger bottle. I recently gave a bad review to bass pro shop in gurnee. Almost exact same situation a folding knife was defective and I wanted to exchange it with a receipt two days after purchase. They talked down to me and in general it was a big hassle. Dicks hires and trains good employees.

I have been in there twice, looking to spend a decent amount of money but left empty handed since they do not hire enough staff. Today, I tracked down a manager to let him know. Left my comments wide open for him to offer to help me. He just said that«they» need to hire more staff. Will not waste my time going back to this store.
