i have been to alot Korean restaurants before. Most of them are pretty good. But food here is just average, and the price is rediculous high. The portion is small and side dishes are not good either. They dont take credit cards sometimes,so be prepared to carry enough cash before u decide to come here.

Food here is good while the pricing is not reasonable. Bulgogi tastes good and rice is OK, and so is kimchi. But portion is so small that I had another meal after 3 hours, and considering incredibly high price, I won’t come back again.

Coming here is literally like being invited into the owners home for dinner. We had barley tea, seafood pancake, spicy tofu soup, beef bu Golgi and beef short ribs. The food was very authentic. You can’t get anymore Korean than this here in Niagara. They had Korean karaōke! It was a great experience. The owner and his wife serve everything.

Delicious food & nice people! We ate short beef rib & soft tofu seafood soup and they were so great. We love it! I would go next time again if I have a chance. Highly recommended place to eat Korean food!

Food was great. I came here with a family of 5 and we ordered 4 portions. Those four portions in addition to the numerous side dishes filled us up all the way. The location is a little small but homey, and the management is very nice. English isn’t their primary language, but they are very friendly and even gave us a fruit platter on the house. Would definitely come here again. If only I was from the area!

Thank you for saving me from crappy food choices around the falls. Small but clean restaurant serving authentic korean food. Enjoyed a big bowl of spicy beef and vegetable soup along with a good selection of banchan. Plenty of parking along the street. Offers picture menu and free wi-fi. Super friendly owner.

This is a really nice place! Very clean and the owner is an old couple, very nice! There will be 8 side dishes, and each of them is very TASTY! Different from any Korean side dishes I have tried. You can feel the owner really cares about the food. Strongly recommend, the only drawback is the price is a little high.

1. The best korean food I’ve ever had in US. The environment, and everything is pretty clean. 2. Unlike many Korean restaurant, each of the six sides tastes good, exquisite and DIFFERENT. My husband and I almost ate them all. 3. The yungkaejong(don’t remember how to spell) is so good that I had two rices. The ykj is much better than Seoul gardens’. 4. It deserves 5 stars!

Credit cards are accepted and, it’s important to note there is a new owner/manager since 2014, Tae Kim, who loves his business and his adopted city. Korean cuisine in Niagara Falls! What an unexpected and very nice surprise! On Niagara Street, just two blocks from the main tourist area, is this small, unassuming building. The interior belies the delicious food to come. The owner, Tae Kim, is a warm and sincere guy that loves the business he is in. With several years of experience in restaurant management, he recognized the potential in taking over this restaurant and doing it right. After reorganizing the kitchen, he introduced himself to the local business community going door to door. He officially opened in the fall of 2014. The food was delicious!(I apologize in advance that I didn’t take pictures or make notes over dinner) While we were waiting for our meal, we were treated to a slice of egg dipped, lightly fried tofu. Then we were presented with 7 or 8 little small tastings, like kimchi, a fermented egg, a type of mashed potato, fermented bean sprouts, fermented pickle slices(thick) topped with kimchi. A propane burner was set on the table the the main meal was placed on it to continue cooking and then to stay warm. This allowed us to really savor the aroma which enhanced the flavors and overall dining experience. The main meal was a beef soup/stew in a light but flavorful broth. It had dumplings, sliced rice cakes, thick rice noodles and tofu and plenty of meat. Again, the new owner was so happy to have us there and treated us well. We enjoyed the experience and will return. I am not a snobby food critic nor do I specialize in Korean food. I like to check out restaurants and try new food. I have to go back to the restaurant to get the name of the dish we ordered and edit this post with that info. Try it out! Pyung Taik House Restaurant, 420 Niagara St., Niagara Falls, NY14303

Was up hear from NyC and needed some korean food bad and decided to check this place out. Thank god i did as everything was great especially the bulgogi. You know a korean restaurant is good by the banchan they give you and this place really cares and seems to want to make your experience as pleasant as possible. I think new management made a huge difference and it shows.

I ordered the main dish in this restaurant. It was very delcious. It is korean food flavor exactly. I want to mention the alcohol. Please ask the price and expired date. It will be very expensive. Soju and mackguli are each $ 17 even it’s located in NY where it’s easy to get korean stuff.

What a nice surprise. Tucked in a nondescript building across from the Seneca Niagara Casino parking ramp, before walking in the door nothing tells you what a nice place this really is. While he furnishings are not new, everything looks spic and span and the lovely aroma of fresh cooked meals hit you in the nose. The manager Kim greeted me and answered all my question about the menu. The menu is keyed to a flip book of photos to explain each of offerings. After learning a bit I opted for the Soft Tofu Soup wanting just a light lunch. As I waited, Kim served me the sides. OMG! Eight sides, including black bean, mashed potato w/prune(?). pickled egg, marinated celery, broccoli, kimchi shredded cabbage & kimshi napa cabbage. Also served was a raw egg to mix in the hot and spicy soup ala’ egg drop soup if one feels there is too much kick to the soup. The soup itself was served boiling hot in a cast iron crock with a spicy red broth made near stew like with the tofu, transparent noodles, and bits of clam, squid and probably a few other things I’m leaving out. It was very good, not overly spice(even without the egg drop). Hearty and filling. You will n to leave hungry, that’s for sure. I highly recommend Pyung Taik and Korean cuisine to anyone who enjoys Asian food, especially spicy Thai and Vietnamese counterparts. I will visit again and again with friends and family. A great find. I’m sorry it took me so long to take a chance.

We took in Pyung Taik when looking for ethnic food. This was closest to our hotel and I am really glad for that, too. The food was simply fantastic. The service was also great. It felt like I was visiting the home of a friend for dinner. The food was some of the best Korean I’ve ever had. In fact, I wish that Pyung Taik was in my town because it would be great to get such good Korean any time. There is one downside, though. It’s cash only. And I totally get that — it’s a small business and small businesses operate on such thin margins that taking credit cards can put them in the red. But tracking down an ATM in that neighborhood after dark was not something I ever wanted to cross off my bucket list. That said, I am glad I went and grabbed some cash. In my four days in the Buffalo area, this was my favorite meal and my favorite restaurant.

This is a fantastic authentic Korean restaurant in the Falls. While Niagara Falls is over-run with Indian restaurants, it’s refreshing to have a choice for other ethnic cuisine. For those uninitiated, Korean food is generally a little less carbohydrate heavy than Chinese cuisine. It’s also accompanied by a variety of side dishes(natively called banchan), so expect some interesting goodies to sample. And while they don’t give you as many samples as you would find in Arirang in Amherst, the potatoes, kimchi(fermented cabbage) and other assortments you may find will be a delightful surprise, especially since they come free with your entrée. The restaurant is situated close to the Falls park on Niagara St and it can be a little challenging to find. Just look for an older looking building that says«korean food» on it ;). It doesn’t have a parking lot and street parking across from the restaurant is ‘limited to ½hr,’ but I haven’t had any problems parking for longer. I came here for lunch at around 2p and there was one lady doing everything; taking the orders, doing the cooking, bringing the food out, seating me. Her son was also here watching TV, which was a little awkward and not the most ideal dining experience, but I didn’t mind too much. Speaking of the interior; it could use a lot of improvement. There’s a convenience store fridge with the drinks(not too attractive), the tables are set up in a way that’s more reminiscent of a cafeteria than a restaurant. When I asked for some water, I was brought a plastic canister and a Styrofoam cup. Again, not the most attractive presentation. Once the food comes out, you forget about all the hangups that this joint has because the food is just that incredible. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi(bbq marinated beef) from the specials menu(ask for it!). The beef was completely tender, perfectly spiced and the rice was perfectly cooked. The side dishes that I got to sample were a welcome addition to the meal, I loved the kimchi and the potato(don’t remember the official name for it). I’ll come back here for dinner one day and see if maybe the ambiance improves. The food really pushes this place up to 4-stars, come try it!
