Becky’s Newtown Deli

The food is always fresh and delicious! Becky makes the best sandwich party platters. Everything is great & the staff is always friendly!

The owner Becky is incredibly rude as a few other poster’s commented. Asked about allergy info on a specific item, she could not even turn around to face me and answer but, asked me to leave and said she doesn’t do «specialty orders». Ok sorry. I’ve heard from others how rude she is. I was simply asking if an ingredient was in an item that my daughter was allergic to. Will never return.

Born and raised in Newtown, been to this deli a few times. I give Becky a call and I mention where I work and was about to tell her how I enjoyed something there when I was last home. She was INCREDIBLY rude said she ‘didnt have time’ to speak to me — and then hung up. What a horribly rude person. I will make sure I tell everyone at home to NOT go to this place ever again. How does she run a business?

Great for a quick bite for lunch. I’ve never had a problem with the staff, they’ve always been courteous to us.

Still a fine place for lunch, particularly on an early Spring day when a walk from the office is a perfect respite from the workload of the moment.
On such days, and many others, Becky’s is a fine destination for a fresh and tasty meal.

This is a classic place to get a great sandwich, wrap or cup of soup in Newtown. The chicken salad is really good to! Everything is fresh and homemade and it is a very comfortable and welcoming place to grab lunch! Everyone that works here is super nice and everyone knows one another– a true local spot. ;)

I agree with some of the reviews here. The sandwiches are good «sometimes.» However, what has always kept me away from Becky’s is the customer service. Whenever I visit this place, I’m treated as if I’m doing them a favor by purchasing a sandwich. There is almost an entitlement mentality amongst the staff.
Give it a try if you want, but I recommend State Street Kitchen a few doors down any day of the week over Becky’s. I say this not just because of the service, but because I think State Street has better food as well.

Becky’s deli… so good!!! I had a huge Italian Hoagie that really hit the spot and my daughter’s sandwich was made with basil they picked from plants they grew behind the deli! Thanks Beck,!

Great sandwich, bad customer service. I was new in Newtown and excited to try Becky’s Deli for lunch. After I placed my order and I pulled out my card to pay they said there was a $ 10 minimum. I asked if they could make an exception this one time and they refused and sent me to the bank on the corner to get cash. I was pretty shocked and upon returning did not feel comfortable eating my sandwich inside; so I took it to my car. The roast beef sandwich was GREAT! I’m in sales and cater many lunches. In fact, I just finished placing two orders totaling $ 300. I actually considered giving Becky’s a second chance on one of these orders and went to their website to view their catering menu. Ha, they state they won’t deliver unless their is a minimum of 20ppl. Well, it was 15 and it was enough for me to use Primos for my catering needs. Some people don’t realize how important good customer service. Ultimately, a small credit card charge in the beginning could have easily turned into hundreds of dollars in business for them.

Excellent sandwiches, especially their Cuban sandwich!
