Best pizza in Sussex county hands down! I am originally from Queens, Ny and to say that I found good pizza elsewhere is crazy. But this pizza is fantastic!!!

I waited a while to write a review. Anything I’ve had from here has always been excellent! The calamari is the best I’ve tasted around here so far. It’s not rubber! Sausage rolls are not classic but they will make the classic ones upon request. From my taste buds they have the best quality and more affordable than the rest of the pizzerias around here. Imo! The most consistant anyway!

I use to frequent Villa Capri alot years ago. I thought the food was delicious. I hadn’t had it in awhile, so I decided to order some dinner on a Sunday night. I ordered a white pizza, villa stix, and a small Caesar salad. When I got home to eat, I took 2 bites of the Villa Stix and couldn’t even eat them. Whover made this particular batch was extremely EXTREMELY heavy handed on garlic powder, seriously to the point it was so bitter and overwhelming it was inedible. The Caesar salad is basic, hard to screw up except that almost every piece of lettuce was wilted including most that were disgusting brown. Threw that away also, another $ 4 wasted. Saving grace? My pizza. It was obviously undercooked, some of the cheese wasn’t even melted. Not the best I’ve had but I was tired and too hungry at this point to even think about ordering something else and having to go pick it up. I cook professionally for a living and definitely give credit where it is due, especially to support my local businesses. I’ve steered clear from villa for some time now, and I think after this meal I’ll continue to stay away. Disappointing. :(

I am an occasional lunchtime customer here as it is within walking distance from my office. I ordered the whole-wheat pasta with broccoli in an olive oil sauce. I specifically checked the menu for something without cheese as I am trying to cut back on my dairy intake(not allergic or lactose intolerant). Nowhere in the description of this special did the menu mention cheese of any kind. When the waitress brought it out, the first thing I noticed was the cheese on top of the pasta. I don’t blame the waitress or the kitchen staff, so I ate it anyway. This is a management issue making sure the menu describes the main ingredients completely and accurately. Next time, I will specifically ask if a dish contains any dairy even if the menu doesn’t mention it at all in the description. And more likely at a different restaurant. Lesson learned.

I read some of the reviews on here and they are ridiculous. Did the person who got the soggy fries get them delivered? Any time I’ve gotten fries from anywhere they are soggy when they are delivered or if I take them home. The heat from the fries in the container causes them to be soggy. I’ve never had a soggy fry at villa capri. I think I read that someone served someone who just came in rather then the reviewer. Really. I dont think i ever met the owner and if i did i didnt know it was him. i cant see having a bad time at a restaurant because they served someone ahead of me. Overall the food that I have had at villa capri has been very good. I couldn’t say that I’ve ever looked at my check and thought it was high and can’t say I’ve had anything bland. There are certain things that I like and other things that I like less but this is the same everyplace I’ve ever eaten. Villa capri is one of the best places if not the best place in the area. I couldn’t help commenting on the other reviewers and normally don’t but it just annoyed me after I got my pizza and wanted to review the place and happened to see these trivial things

I crave villa pizza, it is so good! Every time I go to Villa I receive great friendly service and yummy food! It’s fast, clean and fresh! I like the $ 7 lunch menu that comes with a free drink. I have no complaints and would recommend Villa to anyone in the area.

I tend to visit alot of Pizzeria restaurants in the area Villa Capri has some if the best dishes I have had. The owner is a man who wants the best for his customers and trys very hard to make it all happen. Daily lunch and dinner specials are fantastic. The french fries are the best I have had in the county. I really Don’t know what some Unilocalers are complaining about. Never have had a bad experience in Villa. All I can say to certain other Unilocalers is… If you do not like an owner of a business you should not go there… Also if you go to a pizza restaurant expecting a fine dining experience you will never be happy with the food or service. Personally Villa Capri in Newton is a great place with some pretty amazing people working there. Love it and would recommend them to anyone who asks. Try the penne vodka pizza it is awesome. :-)

Just had food for the first time chicken parm sandwich was not good at all and was poorly cooked. Pizza wasn’t the best either, probably last time I order from there. I will say the delivery was quick and on time. But that was the only positive.

First off let me start by saying I have been coming to Villa Capri in Newton for years. When it was the old Villa and new Villa, this has always been where my wife and I went to first for a good meal and at a great price. I must have been there at least 75 times, probably more. The the owner never makes you feel welcome and has never to this day said hi to either me or my wife or my children. He is actually very rude and unprofessional with 0 personality. Never once has he said thank you for coming, have a good night, we appreciate your business, or hope to see you again. I must say it was the food that kept us coming back all those years not his personality for sure. As far as the food and service goes it has always been great until recently, which surprises me because I see the same chefs in the kitchen and waitresses in the dining area. The past three times have been a total flop to say the least. Poor food and service. First time food took forever, my kids slices came out 5 minutes after our entrees, our waitress never checked on us, chicken franchise was only ok at best, «had it dozens of times before», slices were overly done and borderline burnt. Second time we stopped in for a quick pie on a Sat PM, it took way longer than ever before. We chalked it up to being really busy which I could understand on a Sat night, as long as the food is good I truly don’t mind the wait. When it finally came out it was so overly done on the bottom it had a burnt flavor that was disgusting. Why would they even serve it to us? We noticed all the tables round us were being offered complimentary wine but not us, but not a big deal. It was the same waitress we had the last time. When she finally came back and asked how everything was I told her the pizza was burnt and she said«I’m sorry… would you like it to go?“When I went to pay the cashier, she asked the same and I said the pizza was not good at all and she said sorry, here is a coupon, 2 pies for 18.99.The last and final time we went, and will ever go back, we stopped in for a quick bite. A salad and 2 slices. My wife’s water came out with bits of carrots at the bottom of the glass, same waitress as the last time by the way. No matter where we sat we seemed to end up having her the last 3 times. She seemed to be a very nice girl but needs much improvement. The salad came out in about 5 minutes and 5 minutes later still no slices. Our waitress came over and said they are coming right out. Another 5 minutes later another pleasant young girl came over to tell she was so sorry for the wait, the slices will be coming right out. It was then we decided to leave. 15 minutes for 2 slices? Come on… Upon paying I overheard the waitress telling the owners wife Brittany what happened and she never looked, apologized, or tried to make it right in any way. I have spent a lot of money at this place over the years, actually more than any other restaurant in Sussex County and would never have expected this from her. I will never be back… EVER!!!

when you mention the name locally the response is «that guy at villa capri is the biggest asshole» I went in there recently on a friday it was very busy and it was just all teenagers working. the w a it times were long, the silly girl at the counter we were helping all the people who had just walked in the door like some vip service and ignoring the people actually on line like human beings. was handed our pie, and i was amazed! I seriousy thought they handed me an empty pizza box as if they forgot, my arms actually went up in the air when tney handed me the box. I had to check to see if there was actually a pie in there! thin dry card board that pie was, dry, stingy cheapskate, hardly any toppings and sauce on it, rip off price for that, should have been like 5 bucks…

French fries were ok but arrived late so they were soggy. Pizza crust tasted like cardboard. Sauce was ok. 35 bux for 2 pizza’s(one pepperoni) order of fries and a 2 liter of soda. Won’t be ordering from here again.

The food is okay. Just a mediocre pizza place. The owner is not so nice and neither is the staff. They seem like you dining there is a chore for them. Not a happy customer.

This is the best pizza in Newton, bar none. I’ve dined in and carried out numerous times, and Villa never disappoints. The cheese is fresh, the sauce is sweet(but not overly so), and the crust is the PERFECT thickness! Villa has always been great; even before the expansion, when the restaurant was about 15 feet wide… which segues to my next point. The inside is beautiful, from the granite counter tops, to the large glass cases displaying the pizzas, to the décor in the seating area… but there are several flat-screen tv’s that remind you that it’s a relaxed, casual environment. It’s perfect for anyone. Whenever we get pizza, we get villa. Whenever my friends from out of town/state come to 7860, we go to Villa. I wouldn’t recommend any other pizza place before I suggest Villa. I want to make special mention of one of the guys that works there. Unfortunately I don’t know his name… he’s kind of short and has a loud voice. Anyway, he’s great, and you can tell he cares about his job and the customers. One time when I had gone in to pick up a pizza, I had to wait like five minutes and not only did he apologize several times, but he gave me a free soda. You can tell the folks at Villa Capri care about their customers, and they don’t ever disappoint. As an added bonus, their hours are the best in Newton as well. GOHERE!
