We went a year ago for a grand opening and it was horrible. This weekend November 2015 they have a new chef who has run restaurants in large cities and has a grasp on food and customer service. Chef Paul is great and the new wait staff is excited about his vision. New menu coming in January with a promise of slightly lower prices with all the excellence of a great executive chef.

Drinks only! Not good food! The food was cold and reheated. The steamed veggies looked like yesterday’s leftovers.

Had dinner after 7:30PM Friday, August 7th. At first, I thought the waiter just couldn’t remember who ordered what when he brought out food and drink. Turns out I was wrong. The waiter just didn’t care. The $ 14 adult fish and chips is the same portion size as the $ 8 kids fish and chips. Shame on them.

Someone needs to do a spell check on the name for this website, Grille is misspelled, unless it’s supposed to be Grilled.

Very little fresh seafood on the menu which was disappointing. Our server, John was blah and not very personable. When asked if the salmon was fresh, he did not know and came back to us with, «It’s fresh frozen». For the lack of fresh, local ingredients, I give this a low rank because of the prices on the menu. You can spend the same money with a short walk down to Local Oceans, Mo’s or several others on the west end of Bay Blvd. Pro’s: the views of the Yaquina marina, bridge and bay is incredible. Breakfast has been great. There is never anyone in there so getting a table is easy. Their focus seems to be on the bar; they have casino games in a private«closet» which seems odd. Con’s: since their long time server Sheree left, the service has not been the same. Seems like they have been through transition, menu changes, very hot in the late afternoons in summer. Not sure if they installed air conditioning which at one time was the plan. We dine there every couple of weeks, mostly for breakfast. Want to be a fan as we live close but just can’t do it.

Mediocre is the word that comes immediately to mind. The food is not terrible, but it’s not very good either. There are just so many better options within a few minutes drive, why waste your evening — and your money — here? The service was good and attentive. Gold star for that. The cocktails were served in plastic cups, were weak, and had stale garnishes. Obviously, the bartender has no understanding of what he’s doing. The oysters were also stale and poor quality, an unforgivable sin on the Oregon Coast. The bouillabaisse as bland with stale, rubbery seafood. Avoid this menu choice. Obviously, the chef has no understanding of what he’s doing. Really, while this place will do in a pinch, if you have a chance and if you like to eat for more than just calories, just avoid this place entirely.

Since there was not a distaste listing for the restaurant I made one so reviews could be separated from the resort . The wait staff were friendly and helpful but it took awhile for us to get our food, and our appetizer came at the same time as the meal. The rib eye wasn’t bad, but I don’t feel it was worth the price. The veggies and potatoes were good as sides. The artichoke dip wasn’t the best I’ve has but fairly good as well. The one that that really bugged me, though, was that the water glasses were those super tiny ones, like 8 ounces or less, but that didn’t leave a pitcher at our table and because the wait staff was slow my wife and I were constantly out of water.

A really nice place but it is too bad the service and food are not the same. Maybe that’s why the two of us were the only ones in the dining room. Not the servers fault because the server is also the waiter, bartender and problem solver all in one. A long wait for food that was definitely frozen and thawed in a microwave oven. The gnocci was overcooked and mushy, shrimp was not too bad and the clams were okay. Salmon was surely not fresh and tasted like it came out of a vacuum pack. The bar is nice and the people who work there are fine. It is just a matter of lousy food because someone responsible for this restaurant is not concerned with quality. On top of that the food is very expensive. The bar, again, was fun and a good place to relax but when you move down to the dining room it is more like dining in a cold hall.

We vacationed at the Resort this past weekend. It was a great place to stay but I have to comment on how atrocious the breakfast was in the restaurant. We only ate there one morning. Maybe the dinner is better but the breakfast was awful. I would have been understanding if it had been less expensive. Even the toast was awful. It wasn’t toasted all the way through.(I know exactly what kind of grocery store brand bread it was though). I probably wouldn’t have bothered to write this negative review if it had been more reasonably priced but it was very expensive for what it was. The service was friendly and I could tell the intentions were good but the price needs to match the quality of the food a little more.
