Smells… Not so great. But what a great observation of the male California Sea Lion. Very entertaining and educational on Newport’s old bayfront with cute shops and the original Mo’s.

If you visit Newport, you must come downtown to the historic Bayfront and visit the bachelor sea lions that are hauled up on the docks. You’ll probably hear them before you see them. They’re located right behind the Port Dock One Restaurant. Thousands of visitors come here to see them every year. Many others use the dock for crabbing. Surrounded by all the beautiful fishing boats coming and going through Newport Bay, this is a fabulous place to visit the next time you travel the 101 of coastal Oregon.
