I will start this review by saying that i am a sucker for a view! That being said, this is a great spot if you sit outside or in the bar. At this time my only review can be the drinks, service and the lobster which were all outstanding! Definitely worth a visit on a nice summer day or night.

My parents have been coming here for a long time, but for some reason I never made it out here until recently. It is far out on goat island, and seems to be in the middle of the parking lot. It has views of the harbor, the boats docked, and has expansive outdoor seating. The inside is decorated like a fun, boatyard bar… it’s cozy, dark, and something I think Gster would like to go watch a sports bar at. It is not fancy, nor is it like any other restaurant in Newport. It just is, and whatever it is is great. I went in a party of 8, of which the service was good, the wine kept flowing, and everyone liked their meals. I personally had the fish n chips, which hit the spot. It isn’t somewhere I would recommend for someone to eat at if they are visiting, but it’s a great hidden spot for locals who don’t want to be part of the crowd, but still have the boaty, summery feel.

This place was so fun – and they allowed us to bring our dog with us if we sat outside. The fried oysters weren’t my favorite ever, but some of the other dishes were quite good. Fantastic french fries. The service is really good – such nice people. We went at night, but I can imagine it would be super to watch the sun go down there while enjoying an adult beverage.

Really poor service here. No water or bread to go on the table, which made our wait of 35 mins for food pretty miserable. Once served the food was mediocre at best. This place is probably fine for a drink in the summer but I would not return for a meal.

Ate here recently on a Saturday night. The restaurant has an outdoor patio by the water which offers a view of the harbor beyond the parking lot. We started with steamers which were well prepared. My husband’s and my hamburgers were expensive and undercooked. My friend’s tuna was also undercooked. Mixed drinks were expensive – $ 10.00.Too many good restaurants in the area to waste time and money on this one.

Do not go here if you want some great New England seafood! The mussels starter had about 20 tiny(1″ x 3″) mussels which were hilarious to eat. like picking at cockles. The(tasty) spicy sauce overwhelmed them. It was like eating dollhouse food. Then the belly clamp which were also miniature. the heavy breadcrumb coating(again) was over …I was beginning to sense I was in the land of lilluputians. My fish taco app had a great grilled swordfish filling which was almos r ruined by the soggiest, uncooked tortilla I’d ever had. How sad… having a view of multimillion dollar yachts does not make up for this no matter what these other reviewers have said. Nevertheless they had a buck a shuck 1 dollar oyster night tonight so we gave them a second chance. They said Wellfleet oysters were featured. OMG!.

If you want authentic steamers and fried clams this is the place in Newport. Casual and authentic. No fuss. Relax. Great service. Excellent view

Waiter gave us paper cups for water and everyone else had glass. I ordered seared citrus crusted tuna salad; tuna wS well done. I asked for seared and waiter said, «that’s how it’s cooked and you got the last tuna» it was 6 o’clock on a Sunday night before a holiday! Also the stuffie was doughy with no trace of clams. VERYDISAPPOINTING

Waiter/bartender guy was very weird and condescending. Had a stuffie and calm chowder. Both were good but the chowder was very watery like others have commented. Oh and the seats suck. The main thing is the cool view.

This pub/café’ at the end of Goat Island in Newport has a great view of some serious yachts in the harbor. There is lots of parking(in our case we did NOT have to pay to park) and they have a very nice patio seating area. We had a range of eats, I went with the fish and chips and the fish was fried just right as was the french fries. My companions had the chicken piccata and fish tacos(which had a very tasty sauce). The service was very good, the wait staff very attentive. I thought it was a little pricy for what we got, but I guess it was Newport and there was a nice view. I would just add that this is a nice place but its far from a destination venue.

Avoid at all costs, unless you have just minutes left to live and you want those minutes to feel like an absolute eternity. Seriously. They should make you attempt to eat dinner here before a stress test. Another restaurant filled from floor to ceiling with molasses would still be faster. I thought I was being punked, except Ashton Kutcher never showed and we still had to pay for it. If you’re in a good mood walking by this place, then please for the love of God keep walking. If you’re already miserable and wondering if things could get any worse: yes, yes they can.

Great View! A charm on Goat Island! This place deserves 5 stars just on the view alone! Came here twice within 1 week. Sat at the outside bar area and really enjoyed both experiences. The bar staff was really great and the drinks were excellent. Bikini Martini and their Goat Island Hurricane was awesome. Prices are not bad either. The lobster roll is delicious. Big too! Fries are really good and their Stuffies(Stuffed Quohogs) are delicious! Spicey hot! The muscles were good… broth was a little bland but still delicious. Served with toasted bread. You can see all the boats from here in the harbor. I love being out by the water with drinks. They even have a little area with a fire pit table, but you do need reservations for it! Definitely coming here is a must when you visit Newport! We will be back!

We are sitting on the patio admiring the view of Newport & the boats. We had clam chowder, the clam roll, a burger & the house specialty drinks called Sunken Treasure(coconut rum, blue curaco, pineapple juice topped with a Goslings Black Seal float). Everything is great including the service. Great time!

Great spot to get away from the ridiculous of Newport with out the stress of having to go over a bridge of substantial length. The food and menu is simple but good. Great service and you can’t beat the view with a stick. The next time we go we will bring the pups as they are dog friendly so you can’t beat that!

****Horrible restaurant****DONOTGO and waste your time***** Had dinner there yesterday evening. Although it was crowded… most everyone was drinking and not eating. Our waiter was so clueless. We ordered 2 cups of NE Clam Chowder and he brought us the chili. Sent that back. The clam chowder was very watery and not traditionally thick like I’m used to. I ordered the lobster roll and my BF ordered the lobster roll BLT style. Both came out BLT style. Sent mine back and it returned with a substantially less amount of lobster. It was laughable. I was also given about 10 french fries. Less than I started with with the wrong dish came out. I didn’t even touch it. The waiter seemed all to familiar with comping meals because we overheard the table behind us complain about how bad the scrod was and that was comped as well.

The views are great, the food is delicious. The trouble with this place is the ho-hum service and the yikes-inducing prices. A side salad for $ 12! I get that it’s Newport and prices will be higher, but this is literally a tiny little café at the end of a parking lot. It’s technically a marina, but it’s certainly not a glamorous locale. The view is of the harbor, rusty hulls and all. The bartender gave me major eye-rolling and seemed put off when we ordered drinks, even after he asked us if we wanted anything. Brought the atmosphere down a lot.

3.5 Read about the raving reviews about this place on Unilocal and decided, «Hey, let’s go here, its a great location and they have oysters!» My bf and I strolled in here around 6:30 — 7 for dinner. The place wasn’t too busy so we were able to be seated straight away. I was in need of some serious seafood, so we had ordered the LOBSTERROLL, the EGGPLANTFRIES, cup of NECLAMCHOWDER, and a dozen oysters. All in all I would say everything was satisfactory. We really enjoyed the Eggplant fries! The Lobster roll was nothing spectacular nor was the clam chowder. My only real disappointment with this place is the mediocre service. Our young server had to verify that they still had certain oysters in stock and what beers were on tap. I was a server two months of my life. You have to know the specials to give educated answers my friend!

3.5 stars Menu isn’t huge, lunch was nothing to write home about, BUT you can sit outside on the patio, overlooking the marina, surrounded by boats and water, yet interestingly not surrounded by mobs of tourists.
