I was renting a home in Newport News and having a musty smell in the house and water bugs that looked like giant cockroaches. I asked the landlord about the smell and the water bugs and he told me that there wasn’t anything to he could do about the smell and that the bugs were coming because I was unsanitary. After talking with a friend about my problem, he told me to call Floyd at Quality Home Inspections to check the house for moisture problems. I called their office and Floyd met me the next day. He inspected the house and found 2 inches of standing water under the house. He also found black mold and told me the house was dangerous to live in and that the bugs were a result of all the water under the house. I presented the home inspections to the landlord and told him I was moving out as soon as possible. I don’t know how long I would have lived in that house or how the health of my family would have been effected. We have used Quality Home Inspections now 3 times and have never been disappointed! This isn’t a typical home inspection, but also a lesson about the home you are purchasing or selling. I highly recommend listening to Floyd’s advice as he walks you through your new home, he prevented us from buying a «money pit» that looked great cosmetically, but had serious issues under the surface! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my inspections!
