Second visit. Quickly served. Got a flat white. Damn good coffee! Buncha people sitting about, chatting, studying.

Came here to study with a friend on a Thursday morning & was pleasantly surprised with the environment! DRINKS — I ordered a simple cappuccino & it was decent but nothing too special. I’m not a huge fan of chai lattes but the worker did say that it was her favorite so I’ll probably try that the next time I go. MUNCHIES — My friend got a donut & a donut hole and enjoyed both of them a lot! Unilocal currently has a check-in deal where you can get a pastry for 50% off so definitely check that out too. PARKING — Although they have a small parking lot offered by the shop, it’s usually filled. I was able to find street parking though! It might just take a couple minutes to find a spot. STUDYSPACE — There’s a good amount of space to study & get work done. AND. there’s outlets! Overall, an awesome addition to Orange County & I can’t wait to come back here and get some more work done.(=

Ok love the industrial vibe, concrete floors, exposed beams, chevron patterned wood coffee bar/with marble countertops, wood tables and chairs & black Steel doors. Eco friendly plants++ Wasn’t sure about which«common room» we were allowed to go into as there were a few but only one with its doors open, so I sat at long communal table. Had a lovely cortado. Nice folks. Overheard owners story. Would love it if they had no parking issues as it took a good 5 minutes and few drives up and down on the street to find a 15 minute parking spot in their lot-which I’m sure people abuse. Would love to come here on the regular however not convenient enough or in my area. Wish they could pick up and move into a different location. Will share with friends :).

Nothing common about this place. My coffee was made with love-I could taste the care and attention. It’s going to be hard to drink coffee at work after coming here. Super friendly and polite staff :)

Haven’t been down to Production Place in a few years but it appears to be developing well. Unlike some other reviews here, I had no problem spotting the«Good Coffee» sign out front. Parking is a bit of a problem, though luckily I found a spot around the corner in front of Coastline Community College about half a block away. Baristas are cheery and I enjoyed my Cortado which was less expensive than at Portola or other quality coffee spots I’ve been to. Wifi is free and fast– I actually sat in their«meeting room» while I webexed with a client– super convenient– meeting room has a TON of power outlets so no fighting over outlet space… Chill beach vibe is in the air. I’ll be back.

Great service! Was so excited I was able to try their pastries today. Donut and almond crossiant are amazing. The people working behind the bar were super nice and very friendly with our 2 yr old daughter.

Common Room is a hidden gem in the OC area. I’m so glad I found this place through Unilocal. I’ve actually been here twice and both times have been solid. The first time I got here, it was a little tricky for me. It was hard to find the place at first until I finally read a sign that read«Good Coffee» near the sidewalk. Parking was a little strange because it was so small, but I went during the late afternoon so it wasn’t packed at all. Once I entered inside, I marveled at their simple dark black walls mixed with their light wood counter. The Common Room is located inside a building with another business so it can be a bit awkward going in at first. I wasn’t able to study here but I’ve seen multiple customers study at their tables and it seemed like a very nice place to get work done, especially with their free wifi and just how quiet the place is. The first time I came in, they ran out of their OC brew(cold brew brewed in orange) so I decided to go with their Americano. It kind of tasted like corn starch to me but regardless tasted great and really got me through the day. The second time I came in, they had their popular OC brew drink and it didn’t exceed my expectations because of all the hype I have been hearing, but still tasted very good. I thought the balance between sweet and bitterness wasn’t as good as I thought it would be and I realized I just like straight cold brew by itself. It was a bit on the pricy side as well($ 5.00) so I didn’t think it was worth that much for its size(I believe a 16 oz.). I really hate how they close super early(3PM) and both times I went, I had to rush to get here right after class. I hope you guys close at a later time in the future.

The vibe here is unmatched. Super swell people that work there and I don’t think I heard one bad song come on while I was there the whole time. The coffee is on point I had a cold brew which they brew with fruit they change it often according to the owner but mine was orange it was amazing. Had a great chat with the owner they all hail from Australia and just moved out here the store isn’t even in its final stage but if your Orange County you gotta check this place out!

Great service and coffee. While its located inside another business it can be a little tricky to find but defiantly worth it and has some great Aussie style. The prices are normal for quality coffee. Service: have always had great, friendly and very knowledgeable about what they offer. Hear there are some great thing on the horizon for this place. Really hope for the best and will continue to come back.

I had some work to be done, needed a good latte and wanted to check out a coffee house I’d never visited. I had heard of the Common Room and decided to give it a shot. I am very glad I did. The staff was genuinely friendly, the latte was incredible(iced vanilla) and the ambiance was just what I was looking for. They were undergoing some construction so the seating was limited but they were very accommodating and I wouldn’t have even noticed had they not mentioned it. They also have an awesome community work space that I will definitely be going back to utilize. Check this place out.

I’ll start with what’s good here. The service here is awesome. The girl who works here is clearly super knowledgeable about coffee, exactly what she’s serving you, and she’s incredibly helpful. Last time I came in here she charged me for one pour-over and just made it big so my brother and I could share. That’s rad. I have zero complaints as for customer service at this place. The coffee is solid. It’s not the best I’ve had, but it’s really good! I suppose Hopper & Burr has ruined me with incredibly high standards for coffee in Orange County. I did enjoy what we got here though. Way better than anything I’ve had at Portola, and with a super nice and not snobby barista. The donuts were fantastic as well, so if you come here you have to get at least one. My problem with this place is their elusive nature. Their hours are odd(I think they close at 11am?) so it’s really only a morning coffee place. But that’s okay. What really was a problem was when my wife had a day off and we drove 30 minutes to get here to find out that they felt like being closed that day. Seriously? I checked the website and their instagram just to make sure that they would NOT be closed that day since it’s a bit of a drive for us. And nothing. So I assumed they were open since their hours would allow for that. But we came to a sign on the door that just said«Common Room is closed today.» Great. Could you at least make that clear via social media or something next time? Oh well, it’s worth a shot if you’re in the area.

I was hesitant to review this place because i love how off the grid, «lowkey» it is. Literally. Well first off, it reminded me a little bit of straaaaaya!(Australia for all you non global folks). The small hidden sign, intimate seating, and small cups size stole my heart. I ordered a flat-white and truly appreciated the baristas knowledge and love for coffee. For a second I felt like I was back in Australia. And it’s no surprise this place is owned by Aussie natives. They know how to make some damn good coffee. and appreciate it too! Support your local coffee shops! –cheers! vp

It is correct. The Common Room has damn good coffee. My only complaint is the price is on the high side, and the cup is a little bigger than the palm of my hand, or maybe it’s because they only open on Monday to Friday from 6:30a– 11a. How am I suppose to drink there again with these hours?! I tried the flat white with home made vanilla. Absolutely must! I want it now. *Sigh*. It’s 7pm now and tomorrow is Saturday. See what I mean?
