Two stars just because the guy in the butcher department and the one working in liquor were friendly. Otherwise, customer service here is AWFUL! I couldn’t believe how rude every other associate I spoke with was. Especially the cashier, Steven, who was complaining to the bagger about how he needs help too. Not only did he not offer me my receipt, he wrinkled it up and seemed annoyed when I asked for it. He was a total jerk.

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed in your staff by their lack of customer service today. I came in to use my raincheck for Farmer John hot dogs, on sale for $ 0.99, since you were out of the products over a week. I needed help to check inventory in the back since they only have 5 items on the shelf. It took over 10 minutes and they came back empty handed. I asked the supervisor, Terry, if I can substitute the item. She said no but the cashier can change the quantity on the raincheck for the remaining item. I said ok and proceed to with the transaction. When the transaction was done, I asked for my raincheck with the modified quantity. My cashier asked another associated what to do with my raincheck. He looked it over and said that my cashier should not even redeem since it is from a different store. I said it was written by one of your employees. He questioned me who was the associate as if I remember who helped me. Then he said the quantity is over the amount, the limit is 5. Again, I told both of them that the Terry, the supervisor, said I can have the raincheck back. They refused and kept it. I asked for the Terry but she was nowhere to found. I cannot wait since I purchased ice cream. Finally, they are not trained on your corporate policy. Item 29 regarding raincheck, customers can redeem it at any Vons/Pavilions locations within 90 days. All this argument was over a raincheck for a product of $ 0.99. What happen to customer service and retention? Clearly they do not value customers. I have been a loyal customer at your store. However, after today’s nonsense, I rather take my business elsewhere.

Great big store. Almost like a Safeway down in SoCal but hey you can use your club card phone number here and it will work! So only 4 stars because the check out lines can be crammed and tight squeezes when busy

I must agree on the terrible customer service with the other reviewers here. It’s a grocery store, all I want is to buy my groceries and leave. Instead, she charged me for things I didn’t buy and as I’m standing there quietly waiting for her to correct the problem, she started telling me how it was my fault because«that’s why it’s important you put the dividers» were her exact words. Yes, lady, I did, but you were too busy screwing up on the order before us as well to notice. While she’s trying to correct our order, I watched her as she scaned the next customer’s items. The customer bought some flowers, the checkout clerk scanned and jammed her flowers into the conveyer belt, blossoms first, without even looking over. The customer looked upset but quickly got out of there. She also screwed up on correcting our order. We had to teach her simple math and how to read the receipt. Please hire new staff Pavillion, thanks.

Pavilions is like a Safeway. I don’t have a negative thing to say, we were pretty much in and out of there. Nice and clean, bathroom also was pretty clean.

February 152014 I just got off the phone with this store. I tried to buy some roses for Valentine’s Day last night at 9:00 pm but the manager said that I would need to wait until the morning when the floral lady was in. I called the next day and was informed that Pavillion had marked up their flowers for Valentine’s Day and the prices would not be re– priced at their normal rate until Sunday or Monday. Really?!? I don’t believe that the store manager or staff have evil intentions, I just believe that they are uncaring and quite frankly stupid. The store usually looks messy, mostly is not stocked(especially on sale items), and the manager and staff seem to be bored with their jobs and unhelpful to customers. ITIS A CONVENIENCESTORE. If you are desperate for a grocery item, go there. If you are not desperate, keep going a little further and patronize a store that cares about their customers,

I went grocery shopping here once with a handicap elderly who needed to use the handicap electric shopping cart. After paying, this old female bagging employee, tells us we are not allowed to take the electric shopping cart into the parking lot. Even after we explained he could not walk without it and he might fall if we force him. I was also trying to plead with her and explained we parked in the handicap parking by the entrance. Since she was blocking us from the door, finally another employee spoke up and gave us permission to use the electric shopping cart out in the parking lot. Then this bagging lady followed us outside and after he got into our car, she ordered me in a rude and angry way to put the electric shopping cart back in the store. She went outside into the parking lot, not to help us out with our bags but to make sure we wouldn’t run off with the electric shopping cart, like I could really lift this thing up into the trunk. I can’t even make this stuff up and I have never experienced anything like this before, not even at walmart. If I could rate this store negative five, I would. Their deli is slow. The food doesn’t taste fresh to me, it’s hard to find an employee in the sales floor for help, their cashiers are also rude and bitchy. All this awful experience happened in one day.

Awful customer service for a prime location. Manager is not helpful and neither are the staff. After ordering a bunch of food online you can’t even go inside the store and exchange and item for something else-ridiculous. Go to trader joes and sprouts where you being a customer is appreciated.

Well, another very expensive market. I have gone here strictly because it’s close to my work. I will only go here for work supplies, never for myself. Too pricey. And there is a manager, a woman, tiny middle aged woman, perhaps a manager who has a very«I’m too busy to help you» ‘tude. I have ordered balloons here several times, ahead of time and they are never ready in the time given. Eh.

I live down the block and this store makes a great sandwich. Highly recommend it, after your done go next door and grab a ice cream cone at Rite Aid– without a doubt this is the least expensive meal in Newport Beach(and great).

Woooow. Just went in this store for some last minute shopping. The manager, a blond older woman with too much makup had a teeerrible attitude. I think her name was marcy, but that may have been one of the cashiers names. The cashiers were really sweet, and clearely cowary from her wrath. Poor cashiers. they were closing and the manager bit the head off anyone trying to come in.

My husband and I have tried shopping here a few times. Each time we are accosted by people who work there, trying to run sales pitches by us. Sorry guys, but when I go grocery shopping I don’t want to be followed around and pestered.

So, I’m not a negative person by nature. My reviews tend to focus on the positive and my upbringing would tell me to talk to the manager about this issue and tell him or her: «Your store STINKS!» and I mean that quite literally. This is not the only Pavillion store that has a smell my usual tolerant self can’t tolerate.(The Pavillions in Lido Isle, if I remember correctly has the same problem). I think it must be the way they instruct their butchers. None of the Ralph stores around here have that bloody smell from the moment you walk in the door! I notice in other grocery stores that sometimes the people in the meat department fry some items to counteract any negative ordor. This grocery store is the closest to my house and I only go when I absolutely have to! My husband thinks I’m crazy(my view of this store is not the only reason). But be that as it may, he thinks I’m wrong about the small and even though he notices it, he excuses by some faulty reasoning; my neighbor says she’s never noticed a smell, but here’s what I’m saying: If you’re a person, who has any sense of smell better than my husband and my neighbor, you might be bothered with this store. On the positive side, the clerks are nice and, of course, when you’re standing in the parking lot, you can look over to the water in the harbor. I am very surprised though, that the wealthy people in this area(of which I’m not) actually put up with the smell of this store and the one on Lido Island. Very puzzling to me. Maybe someone braver than I am can tell the manager his store stinks(literally)! If I owned the Von stores(which I believe Pavillions is a part of), I’d send a spy over to the trainers at Ralph’s and find out their secret to a nicely smelling grocery store.
