Terrible!!! We just moved here and I went on Unilocal to try and find a new nail salon. My boyfriend bought my daughter and I nail treatment for Valentine’s Day. I am very disappointed. The lady who sits up front argued with me that my finger nails were a gel French. I explained, they were pink and white acrylic and she insisted I was wrong. She brought the manager over to explain. He agreed with me and then she was rude. My daughter and I both had pedicures and they messed both up. I had to have the manager fix mine. I usually don’t complain but since both the service and skill were terrible I thought people should know.

I love this place. They are so friendly and have good skills. Every workers are great, especially, Anne. She has great eyes to pick colors and her skill is amazing. She makes you comfortable, not worry about the result. I love to go to this place!

This is my favorite nail salon in Newport. The price cannot be beat and their quality is amazing. The $ 17 gel and the $ 15 pedicure is right in my price range. I would recommend making an appointment if you know you are going to go. You will always be served first if there is a wait. Sometimes I go in, and its completely dead and within 5 minutes, 10 people have walked through the doorway so you never know how busy they will be. Can’t wait for my next nail appointment!

Love this place! They actually give you a real massage with your manicure and pedicure. Their prices are fair and they try to serve you right away. They do get busy on weekends so it’s best to call and make an appointment. They have so many regular nail polish colors and gel colors to choose from and they make sure to put extra nail polish coats so your nails last longer.

I am a salon owner from Arizona that visits the Newport peninsula every October. In the past I’ve only gotten pedicures here, and they’ve always been«fine». And one of the girls have always done my pedicure. All sweet. No complaints there. This year I needed an acrylic fill. I walk in and the only guy there, he’s always there in years past but I’ve never seen him doing nails. Usually hair, says he can do my fill. I don’t know his name because he never introduced himself. He proceeds to «drill» my old gel polish off with a carbide drill bit as well as shorten my nails. As he «drills» the tip of my finger and I pull my hand away he says to me «you are very sensitive». I say«only when you remove the skin from my fingertip». He didn’t find it as funny as I did. Must be the language barrier. But I’m pretty sure pain is a universal language. Once my nails are«prepped» he reaches down into his tool box of dirty tools and brushes and pulls out a shot glass that is so dirty and covered with bristles from his brush and clumps of acrylic on the rim that has a cloudy liquid in it and his brush submerged in the liquid. I’m not kidding when I say cloudy. You couldn’t see the brush in the liquid. As a nail tech and salon owner you can only imagine my horror. In the meantime my nails have never been dusted off nor has the work space my hands are now laying in. It gets better. It’s time for my acrylic application. Ish. Still with dusty fingers he gets up and borrows something from another station. When he sits down I see that it’s old school nail primer. You know, the kind I used in the early 1990’s. No lift ACID nail primer. The one that smells so bad because it’s literally melting your flesh. He puts it on my dusty nails and they immediately begin to burn. Really really burn. I let him know that my fingers are on fire and as he gets up to get me a cotton ball soaked in H2o he says«you are very sensitive». I don’t even bother with a response. After his weak attempt to «fill» my nail(I say weak because he literally put a little acrylic at my cuticle. My sidewalls never touched any acrylic, and they needed it) it was time for me to pick my color. I chose a glittery blue polish. At this point I knew why he didn’t bother with any acrylic on my sidewalls because after FIVE coats of glitter polish and TWO top coats I’m pretty sure my 3⁄8 of an inch thick nails aren’t going anywhere. Even tho they look like crap. The one star rating I gave them is for the girls that do pedicures and know how to treat customers. I would not recommend this salon for acrylic. Even in a pinch. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Seriously, These ladies have perfected gel nails. I will never go anywhere else, and at the price of $ 17 per set, you can’t beat it. I would suggest Vicky, Vy, or Anne. They are the top 3 to do gels. The $ 17 is only for them to cut/file your nails and paint them using gel. This does not include a manicure. I like this because I don’t care for my cuticles to get cut nor do I need a hand massage. I just go in, get my gels and I’m done. Quality work. There are no blotchy spots, the nail shapes are painted perfectly and they are just perfect. I walk out feeling perfectly put together. Can’t recommend them enough. Location: They are a little hard to find if you don’t know your way around the peninsula but they are in the same lot as Jack’s surfshop and the donut shop. They are tucked back behind Jack’s Girl’s shop so you have to walk through the little outside hallway.

Came here because my friend has a beach house down the street and was in need of a manicure. Jennifer and Nguyen are incredible. For $ 17.00 we got a 5 minute foot massage… that in itself was worth the money! I haven’t even gotten my nails done yet, but these ladies have our business when we are in town and I highly recommend them for their commitment to customer service and going above and beyond what we expected. If by chance the polish looked like it was applied by a 2 year old, I will update my review. Other than that… COMEHEREFORYOURPEDICURE!

This place does an amazing job!!! They didn’t get 5 starts because they don’t take walk ins but if I you think about it. When you book an apt they spend time doing a good job rather than rushing through it like every other place. I can’t remember my girls name but she was a young lady with short blonde hair. Love this place! Always clean, neat and professional. The staff are kind and the prices are affordable! Also, love the environment, being by the beach is relaxing. I just got acrylic on my nails, which I never do, and they made the experience easy and fun! Love my nails, love this place. I highly recommend!!!

Helen did an awesome job on my gel manicure. She is quite an artist. I loved her suggestion of the beautiful sea foam color.

I love this place! I come here for gel manicures. It’s $ 15 for gel if you don’t have any gel on already, $ 17 if you have gel color on that needs to be taken off. Both times I’ve been there, they have been very meticulous about making your manicure look perfect. They do at least 3 coats of color which I haven’t had at other salons. Today she did 4 coats to make it look better because the color I picked was a little pale. Look for Helen, she is so sweet and nice. Definitely try this place out!

Part of me doesn’t want to write a review because I want this place to be my own secret. I’ll first help you out with getting here– get directions to the Jacks Surfboards on Newport Blvd. When you get here, park in the JACKS parking lot. Don’t do what I did and walk around in circles looking for the nail salon. Walk down the alley that splits the Jacks store into two, and the nail salon is at the end of the hall to your left. I have continued going to Ann. She has short hair and walks around the nail salon barefoot most of the time– she’s so sweet! She is a a PERFECTIONIST. She filed my nails for 15 minutes today until she had the absolute perfect shape. Also, my gel polish I picked happened to be a little on the thinner side, so instead of doing 2 coats and saying«tough luck» she put on 5COATSFORME! She shaped it perfectly on my nails so that it will stay. Last gel manicure I got lasted 2 weeks, and that’s a lot coming from a girl who’s never gotten gel or a manicure that has lasted longer than 4 days– seriously. I can’t even bite off this polish, it’s too pretty and definitely too sturdy. Ann is amazing and you should give her a try, you won’t be disappointed!

This location is right next to my work so I can walk over on my lunch breaks. They usually do an ok job. I have gone probably a total of ten times. I was cut on my cuticles one time and it felt infected. Because its so close to my work, I gave it another shot and it did not happen again. They are very cheap. I got french acrylics for $ 32. It did take and hour and a half(30 min passed my lunch break) yesterday, but he also had to take off my old acrylics which took awhile. They place your hands on a dark green towel, so some green fibers are stuck in my nails which are driving me a little crazy. You can’t really tell unless you’re looking up close. The staff is very friendly and I enjoy being there. I will continue to go for the friendly team, cheap prices, and good location. If I ever need extremely good quality nails, I would good elsewhere, but would also spend a lot more, so depends on the occasion.
