I usually go to the Fuji grill in Orange who he is great. Came here at 530pm on a Friday I was the only one here. My order took 25 mins to prepare just for a chick and beef bowl. Terrible service. Won’t be coming back to this location.

This place is quick but a little pricey for the portion that they serve. I usually get the super California roll and a miso soup for an easy lunch. It was the only quick serve Japanese rolls and teriyaki place around here before Roll It Sushi opened down the street which is much better.

Horrible place I ordered half and half bowl today and they put barely any meat in it waste of money. Compared to other Fuji grill places the other places are way better they put more meat in it.

Short story: Convenience and the staff are the only beneficial elements to this place. Long story: I get cravings for Sushi. Think«Pregnant for the first time with triplets» cravings. If these sushi cravings are not met, bad things happen. I made the mistake of eating here after I had worked 7 out of a 9 hour shift without eating anything since 3:00 pm the day before. I was Hungry! So I see Fuji Grill and I figure it’s worth a shot; it’s close to a store I need to run errands at and it is close to work. I order three different rolls(Spicy Tuna, Cherry blossom, and red dragon) and a small bowl of Miso Soup. Let’s start with the soup, because that is where I started. A good miso soup, in my experience, is easily perfected and easily messed up. All it takes is a little extra seasoning or a special type of broth to make it something worth paying extra for. While this wasn’t bad, it certainly wasn’t good either. Next, I try one piece of each of the sushi rolls to figure out which one I like the least(and will finish first) and which I like the most(and will finish last). The Tuna on top of the Cherry Blossom sushi roll had flavor. The eel on top of the Red Dragon roll had flavor. That was it. The tuna and spicy tuna were almost completely tasteless! How do you make spicy tuna Tasteless?! You have to make an effort to accomplish that! The other thing was the rice. If you have ever made the mistake of eating Vons sushi, you know how awful and hard and stale the rice becomes. This was worse. It was almost as though the rice itself was never fully cooked and it was just left out to crunchify before being thrown into a sushi roll. If the tastelessness wasn’t enough to ruin the meal, the rice was. This was one of the worst sushi experiences I have ever had. I was actually nauseous afterwards. On that note, the staff was very quick and attentive and pleasant and professional. The location and the staff are the only redeeming elements to this place.

Decent spot for lunch, nothing worth crowing about, though. I wanted a steak & veggie bowl, which for some reason is the only permutation they don’t seem to offer. So I asked if I could get one. And I could… if I paid $ 0.50 extra to add veggies to my steak bowl. «White or brown rice?» Brown, which is another $ 0.50. So, in order to make my relatively healthy bowl fully healthy, it’s going to cost $ 1 more. Fair? Maybe, but as someone who likes to eat well it’s annoying to constantly be charged additional for making good choices. Also, I get this is a Japanese place that also serves sushi but WTF is up with putting a giant mound of ginger in the bowl? Can’t say that pairs well with seared steak and brown rice. I mean, I ate it just the same but, still… weird.

Unilocal challenge 2016: 028⁄365 Generic chicken bowl place. Service is blah. Sushi isnt fresh, they are pre made. Plus: give a handful of edamame(lsalted soybeans) which i didnt touch. Love soybean but no need salt. Free soda refills. Minuses. Too damn slow for processed pre made food when traffic was light.

worst fuji grill ever. The guy with glasses and beard who manages it is sometimes rude, and the wait for the food is always over 15 minutes!!! this place sucks. I won’t be coming back here again…

I’ve ordered from this location on three different occasions. Today I received the worst service ever!!! I ordered three different bowls and called in to order at 11:30. The staff told me that my food wouldn’t be ready for 20 minutes. The 20 minute wait is perfect because I was ordering ahead. I arrived at 12:05 to find out my order was mishandled. It is 12:40 now and I am still waiting… The staff blamed my order delay on the grilled salmon bowl. This is not a realistic excuse as to why I am waiting so long for my order. horrible… also have to add I received a steak instead of a chicken bowl.

First time here. Got myself the«Grilled Salmon and Veggies» The food seem pretty fresh, considering my food is very HOT(temperature wise). The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back because of their healthy choices!

My coworkers would always get food from here, so I thought I’d try it out and was not disappointed. Really enjoyed the food and the service. Love the edamame and ginger that comes with the bowls. Pretty decent size too. I couldn’t finish the bowl so I save half of it for later and it was still just as good! :)

Food was acceptable. TV was loud, room has loud echo. Staff seemed indifferent. Nothing special. Probably a better deal to be had at Flame Broiler.

It reminds me of a little nicer Panda Express. Fast service and there’s usually parking. But not the tastiest

Angel was just great at customer service. Smiled helpful with choosing the right dish. The food was pretty good for the price. I got the gentamens special about 10 bucks and came with a drink and spicey tuna rolls. I’m nice and full.

Feels like a fast food type if Japanese restaurant. Surprinsly I don’t see any Japanese workers here but the service is really fast and good. Lots of interesting bowls here such as the Alaskan bowl which I got that had half imitation crab and half salmon. The prices here are very decent so it’s a great place for a grab and go lunch!

Decent Japanese style fast food. They do have a decent spicy chicken bowl with ginger and veggies. I came here after a meeting and I thought the food was okay for the price point. I saw Fuji Grill hiding behind the Staples off of MacArthur, and so I decided to check it out. The lines can get a bit long, so be prepared to wait sometimes. They also have some sushi, but I didn’t order any of it. The prices are a little high for the quality, but I guess that’s what you get for eating in Newport Beach? Overall this place is A Ok

Dropped by to order take-out with some co-workers thinking it’ll be quick, but we actually waited a while. I ordered last, but for some reason my entrée came out first. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about that, but my co-workers ended up waiting for some time and we had all ordered bowls too, so we were just wondering why the orders weren’t arriving accordingly. I decided to go for the ET bowl, which came with grilled eel and spicy tuna. The eel was good, but the spicy tuna was kind of off??? It didn’t taste completely fresh and one of my co-workers confirmed it when he tried his spicy tuna bowl. The serving size was decent. Every bowl comes white or brown rice(additional charge for brown rice), edamame, ginger, and wasabi. They have an outdoor seating area which is nice. Parking is not bad, but then again, it does depend on the time you come as this place shares the area with other businesses. We came at noon and were luckily able to find spots.

I came in for lunch and there was just one person at a table who was finishing his meal. Not busy at all. I ordered and it was all good. I got a volcano roll and a four piece spicy tuna roll. The prices are reasonable but the food is not. It took a very long time for my food to be ready. About 20 minutes. And when there was no one else waiting, I don’t know why it took so long. It came out in a bag with to go items even though I told the woman I was dining in when she asked. The food was garbage. I didn’t finish either of my rolls because they were just not good. The volcano roll didn’t taste right. The scallops were rock hard and it was so bland. The spicy tuna roll was off too. Both of them were just bad. The real kicker about my visit was when a man came in, who I’m assuming is the manager. The man who was eating when I came in at first had already left while I was there but he left his tray, plate etc. This man who I think is the manager walked in and began to yell at the woman behind the counter. I mean screaming at her. «Why didn’t you clean this up?! Why is this here?!» To which she responded«I’m not cleaning that up.» So awkward and inappropriate. Just don’t come here. Don’t.

Fuji Grill offers a casual approach and atmosphere to Japanese bowls, but lacks consistency. This place has been a lunch staple for me for a few years now. They offer a plethora of different bowls but I always seem to get the same order from their«Ladies Special». Spicy Tuna Bowl, Spicy Tuna Roll(which is actually 2 massive pieces) and the Miso Soup. Weighing in at around $ 8.00 and very little on the calorie/fat count, it is hard to beat when the kitchen is firing on all cylinders. Which seems to be based on a coin flip. The proteins are always inarguably fresh, the portions are spot on, and the appearance of the food is beyond their peer group! What is not to like? Fuji Grill’s biggest issue is consistency. I have had too little protein, too sticky rice, uncooked rice, 20 minute wait times in a seemingly low to moderate volume of customer flow, and that is just getting warming up. Perhaps they have a bipolar in the kitchen, or maybe it is the luck of the draw on who prepares your bowl. All that I know is that every other time I visit I am disappointed only to have a great lunch two weeks later. Another criticism is that they changed their loyalty program so that you only get a free Chicken Bowl rather than a bowl of your choice, effectively ending my involvement and therefore my loyalty. To be honest, carrying the card in my wallet was a hassle anyways so maybe they did me a favor. The parking can be brain damage after 11:30am but the outdoor seating blasting 80’s hits may make up for that. They also offer a large flat screen television they have yet to put anything of interest on. Final word is that Fuji Grill can be great, just don’t count on it.

This is a quick and healthy Japanese lunch bowl place. It’s no Flame Broiler, but it’s something different that offers a choice of fish instead of the usual meats. A simple chicken veggie brown rice bowl runs about under $ 7 and a bigger combo for $ 9 with salmon, spicy tuna rolls, salad and brown rice. Drive a few blocks and check out Fresca’s for Mexican food if this is not your flavor of the week.
