We had the Mac n cheese, the Cubano sandwich and. Turkey burger. Everything was great. Service was on point.

The service here is superb, Michael was tentative and made recommendations. He made sure we were enjoying our food. I order the chow burger but he recommended the curry salad. I order the curry salad and it was delicious. Michael is awesome,.

I was Coasta Mesa for a corporate event and woke up the next day needing champagne and brunch. Found this little hole in the wall(even though my gps was determined to take me in circles). After a 30 min wait we actually sat in the baby store(not sure how those two go together). The food was excellent and my mimosa was just as amazing! We will def go back!

Love it! If you find the little hole in the wall behind the Best Western that has tight parking — you are so lucky. We had 4 kids and 4 adults and they got us right in and seated together. Tracy(our server) was fantastic. She was attentive to the kids and the particular dietary restrictions 8 year olds can have. The food was AMAZING! Started with the tater tots and the clams. The tots are super cheesy and decadent. The clams bathed in this garlic broth that will make you wish you could drink it. Then the meal with a massive burger, overstuffed fish tacos and the 3 Amigos enchiladas. Winners all around! We will definitely be going back!

My friend and I got the Oso breakfast sandwich and the regular breakfast sandwich, both of which were delicious and generous portions. The potatoes on the side were a little thick and dry, but it didn’t take away from the breakfast as a whole. The avocados on the sandwiches were really fresh, which I really appreciate. Our server(Ramiro) was on top of refilling our coffees and boxing up our food; he checked in appropriately(especially for the amount of people he was serving). We finished with the banana and chocolate chip pudding, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. I could come back just for that. Next time I hope to try the mimosa brunch.

We heard nothing but great things about this place! The space is small and parking sucks, but the staff is so kind, helpful and relatable! They have a wide variety of food selections which made it hard for me to chose and the waiter had to come back several times. I chowed down on truffle man n cheese with pieces of bacon… OMG. That dish is so good, I almost cried. The lemonade was also so fresh! My partner in crime got the enchiladas with 3 different types of meat and sauces. We are going back to eat everything once we have fasted for several days! haha!

Usually I wait a week or two to post my reviews however this place blew my mind this morning. What an amazing joint right off of PCH and by the water to enjoy a good, solid, flavorful, and an imaginative breakfast. Eat Chow has a local feel with some pretty creative menu items. Here were my thoughts after this mornings breakfast… Ambiance: After reading these review I see that usually there is a wait at this joint however I was seated right away(probably because it was a gloomy day out.) The set up was very inviting nothing crazy however getting out of that parking lot was a little crazy(warning you have to back out) Total Score: 4⁄5. Service: Came in early on a gloomy Saturday and had great service from a waiter named Michael. All the staff here was very attentive, quick, and friendly. Total Score: 5⁄5 Price: Right on the money. Big portions that won’t break your bank or over charge just because your in ‘Newport.‘Total Score: 5⁄5 What was ordered for breakfast: AvoToast & Arugula Salad $ 12: Two eggs over easy, toasted whole grain baguette, avocado thyme parmesan mash, arugula, lemon shallot vinaigrette. Note I added prosciutto for $ 3 extra. Now I like to think of myself as an avocado toast aficionado and think it is a fine art to make something so simple truly extraordinary. Well Eat Chow blew this out of the water. I mean the bread was toasted perfectly and they drizzled the most amazing balsamic reduction over the runny eggs and finished it with chili flakes(do yourself a favor and add prosciutto truly amazing)…just perfection. Also the perfectly dressed salad was the icing on top of it all. a great flavor compliment. Large Latte $ 3.50: Just perfect and didn’t even need sugar. I seriously can’t wait to come back here again for breakfast and to come back for dinner. I mean they have a mimosa flight and apparently some killer chilaquiles I need to try. Knowing me I will be back here tomorrow. Great spot and a great find for sure.

I had brunch here with a few friends. This place was actually a little bit hard to find, my Maps app kept having me turn around in circles cause I kept missing it, but it is down a tiny street to the side. There are a few parking spots right in front of the place, as well as a few metered spots along the side. I can see parking being pretty difficult but I was able to find a spot when I came. I had The Egg, and it was quite good! The egg was still a little runny so when it went over the oiled bread it had this quite pleasant taste. The lemony salad at the top made the whole dish taste a lot lighter, and balanced the richness that was the egg and bread at the bottom of the dish. It ended up being brought together quite well, and I really enjoy it. I also had the Peach Bellini, and that was pretty good too! It had a nice pleasant aroma, and it did seem to have actual peach pieces blended in but I can’t be sure.

Met up with a friend to grab brunch here, and let me tell you… It’s worth the wait! We came in at about 12:15 and they stop taking brunch orders at around 12:30! But we didn’t order until then, the staff is really great and was able to accommodate us. One thing everyone must order are the truffle parmesan fries! We got ours and the table across from us ended up getting one for free because they saw how good ours were. The waiter there actually comped both of our fries too. Great service. I got the eggs Benedict but it was hard to choose what to eat! I highly recommend if you’re in the area.

For the love of good coffee. For the love of good breakfast, Breakfast Gods I ask you to keep Eat Chow thriving! Amidst the hustle and bustle is a line and a wait worth waiting for. Eat Chow is a breakfast heaven! While I wouldn’t advise coming in on the weekends, my mom and I decided to pay this place a visit. We didn’t have a wait for a party of 2 but the noise level was high and the service was slow as a result of a busy restaurant. We both ordered a cup of coffee which was super tasty Intelligentsia coffee. The service was attentive, real and quick. The food options were endless but mom and I decided to go for the lemon marscapone french toast and the sweet potato and goat cheese frittata. I don’t think they spent the time they should have putting the dishes together because it was a little sloppy and it didn’t seem like all the pieces were there, but nonetheless they were very tasty and innovative. Mom’s french toast had a nice toasted almond crust which gave the dish much needed texture, but the flavors were light and so so tasty. The dish was very well balanced and very generous in portion size. I ordered the frittata which was actually quite heavy and I was missing the goat cheese. I wouldn’t order that, but it came with a side salad of arugula which had a sweet and tangy mustard vinaigrette which was super delicious. I could eat mountains of it. The portion sizes are huge, in my opinion, and their menu options are super plentiful(especially savory and egg options). I would love to come back again!

Where to start with Eat Chow… This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Newport(I’ve heard their dinners are phenomenal, too). It’s a really casual atmosphere that tends to attract a trendier group of people — on weekends the restaurant is packed, so you’ll probably experience at least a 30-minute wait. It’s not the biggest restaurant, so bringing large groups can be tough, but they do a great job of making it work. The service is always great, but obviously its best feature is the food. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I’ve tried the Breakfast Quesadilla(before I was gluten-free) — AMAZING, the Chorizo Scramble — a plate of spicy, eggy goodness, and the American Scramble, among others. Their Bloody Mary’s are delicious, but I typically opt for a latte when I visit(preferably vanilla). Also, do yourself a favor and order their cheesy tots and truffle fries as starters(yes, even if you’re coming for brunch) — they are SO worth spoiling a little of your main course. The food is always cooked perfectly and always tastes delicious — the only downside to Eat Chow is that it’s always tough to choose only one thing to order!

Wow I really liked this place!!! :) My friends and I dropped by after our morning run at Huntington Beach. There was about a 30 min wait at around 10:30am… which is not bad! Yay!!! :) The hostess put our name down and also took our drink orders… I have to say that I love that they have intelligentsia coffee! Omg my iced coffee was so good!!! Yay!!! :) We got seated pretty quickly and our waiter was pretty attentive and efficient. No complaints in the service department! Yay!!! :) As for the food, we ordered the following: Breakfast Sandwich: 4⁄5. It was pretty good. I liked the chipotle aioli which added a nice kick to the sandwich. The crispy potatoes on the side was ok. I’d prob order it again! Yay!!! :) Breakfast Salad: 5⁄5OMG so glad my friend ordered it! I got to try a bite and it was awesome!!! He added on the smoked salmon for $ 6 more and it was definitely worth it! The toast w goat cheese and salmon was on point!!! It was so good!!! And the pesto based dressing was so good too!!! I wanna get it next time! Yay!!! :) Our other friend got the American Scramble and it looked like your standard omelette… Not sure how it tastes but my friend finished it so it must not be too bad! Yay!!! :) We also ordered the Mimosa Flight($ 16) and it was pretty good. Not sure if I would order it again though. But definitely worth it to try once! How often do you see a mimosa flight? Yay!!! :) As you can see it was a YAY experience at Eat Chow! Yay!!! :)

Eat Chow certainly places a strong emphasis on eating well. Outside, the restaurant is hard to miss given its conspicuous sign featuring the restaurant’s name in large red and white letters. Inside, a massive art piece reading«EAT» in giant red letters hangs along the far wall. Thankfully, it’s easy to adhere to that imperative given the restaurant’s delicious breakfast options! The breakfast menu features an array of American and Mexican favorites ranging from Eggs Benedict to Chilaquiles. Most dishes are in the $ 8 – 13 range, but if you add extras, like smoked salmon or sides, you’re looking at a few extra dollars. Portion sizes are larger than what I expected for a trendy place like this, but I wouldn’t call them huge. For most items, you can substitute egg whites($ 2 extra) and sautéed vegetables($ 3 extra). If your entrée comes with toast, you’ll be given the option of either wheat or sourdough. And, if you’re lactose intolerant or allergic, the scrambled eggs aren’t cooked with dairy, and as long as you ask for the cheese to be removed, the crispy breakfast potatoes are otherwise dairy-free. American Scramble($ 9.75) Nothing particularly special, but still solid breakfast food. Topped with fresh slices of avocado, the nicely cooked scrambled eggs are mixed with bacon, tomato, and cheese(which I asked to be removed). The breakfast potatoes are good, but not the crispiest potatoes you’ll ever taste. You could probably find something cheaper at a less trendy place, but considering the trendy vibe of this place, it’s not outrageously expensive. Mimosa Flight($ 16) Overall I thought this was good, but an untrained palate like mine had difficulty distinguishing between the flavors. The flight came with four small glasses, and while each has a distinct fruity flavor, they all just tasted like champaign after awhile. Although I saw other people with a flight just for themselves, we happily shared this amongst 3 people. Service here is pretty good. There was a 30 – 40 minute wait when arrived at 10:30AM on Saturday, but the line moved pretty quickly. The hostess was kind enough to take drink orders, so we could sip on something refreshing while we waited. When we were seated, our server was knowledgable and intuitive, recognizing that my questions about which dishes contained dairy were indicative of an allergy. Eat Chow has a tiny parking lot in front of the restaurant, but it’s difficult to maneuver out of the parking lot since you basically exit the same way you entered while driving in reverse. There does seem to be street parking available, but the side streets around the area are pretty narrow. A number of people found places to lock their bicycles out front as well. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, Eat Chow nevertheless provides solid food and service. It’s a nice place to get reasonably-priced breakfast food with fancy touches here and there before your day at the beach or after a morning of exercise!

With great breakfast food, Eat Chow is a perfect place to eat after a day at the beach! After a morning at Huntington Beach, my friends and I decided to find a place to eat breakfast. Thank god we found Eat Chow! Located in a small corner, it is not the easiest place to find but when we got there, there was a long line of customers waiting to be seated. Thankfully, the hostess was taking drink orders outside the restaurant especially because it was hot. When we finally got seated here are some of the things that I tried: Mimosa flight!: Visually stunning and filled with bubbly goodness that is a great way to get your brunch on. Featured in the flight are the four different mimosas on their menu: Eat Chow(mixed with OJ), El Corazon(mixed with passion fruit, blood orange, and pomegranate), Lemon Strawberry(mixed with strawberry lemonade), and Peach Bellini(mixed with white peach purée). Of the four, definitely the El Corazon and Lemon Strawberry stood out for their unique flavor profiles. The El Corazon had an interesting earthy flavor, whereas the lemon strawberry was refreshingly light and sweet. However, the best thing about ordering the flight is that you get to try all of them! Breakfast salad(with smoked salmon): I love my salads and I was completely won over by this interesting dish! Although the smoked salmon is $ 6 more, it definitely gave the salad that little extra to create an interesting interpretation of the salmon lox bagel. Hidden underneath a generous helping of arugula was a lightly toasted piece of bread smothered with goat cheese and smoked salmon, which was great because the salmon’s roasted salty flavor contrasted well against the mild goat cheese. Combined with the peppery flavor of the arugula and the runny yolk, the flavors wonderfully to elevate each bite. There is also sriracha to help add a little extra kick if you need. The parking lot is pretty small and limited. Fortunately, we were able to find a spot and it looked like quite a few people found parking elsewhere and walked over. In terms of service, the staff was friendly and helpful. As mentioned earlier, there was quite a wait to get seated so I appreciated that they were taking orders for customers to enjoy while waiting outside. Overall, whether you want to get some drinks or eat some good food, Eat Chow is a great option if you are in the area!

American, Mexican, Modern, Old School Diner, Creative, Large Plates. So hard to pick a word that describes Eat Chow, so I just had to list a bunch. If you are coming here on a Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast, lunch, or brunch, expect a 30 – 60 minute wait. There are a few parking spots in front of the restaurant and more parking along the residential streets near the restaurant. A.M. Burger with Breakfast Potatoes — Were you feelin’ a burger? Even if you weren’t, just reading the menu will convince you to want to get one. Thick beef patty with fried egg, fried onions, cheddar cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, tomato, avocado, aioli and Hollandaise sauce. Even if you cut this burger in half, you still need two hands on deck. A really good burger, so good and big that it serves two people. Bring someone to split it with so that you can also try some of Eat Chow’s other goodies. Their breakfast potatoes are thick sliced potato coins, cut in half, and fried, then tossed with some parmesan cheese. Braised Short Rib Tostada — Pictures can be deceiving. In person, this dish is large. You get two full size tostada saucers packed with shredded short rib, black beans, salsa fresca/pico de gallo, a fried egg and green sauce. The dish is good, but the only thing I would nit pick is that they used shredded short rib instead of chopped or larger pieces of short rib. To me, the joy of short rib is biting into some of that barely charred beef with juices and marbilization just immersing my mouth with flavor bombness. It was good, but there was no bombness with the meat… it was pretty normal. Shredding it and soaking it in marinade took away the joy of the natural fat doing it’s thing. They are generous with the avocado, which makes life fabulous. Truffle Fries — A must get if you like fries. For the morning crowd, there is a trick to ordering this. If you come early for breakfast, you won’t be able to order them. We were seated at 12:15 p.m. on a Sunday, ordered at 12:25 p.m. and the server said she would have to check with the kitchen because fries usually don’t get cooked until 12:30 lunch shift occurs. We were able to get them. But if you are seated at 11:30, the only thing you can get are the breakfast potatoes. They aren’t bad, but they can’t match up with the truffle fries. The large serving of crispy shoestring fries are drenched in truffle oil and topped with shredded parmesan. It is enough to split between 2 or 3 people. Stiegl Grapefruit Beer — Loved it. If you are a hardcore beer person, you will argue that this isn’t real beer. It’s not IPA bitter hops stuff, it’s more like a grapefruit soda with some beer cloudiness to it. Great for summertime, hanging out on the porch or in the backyard. And yes, your girl will steal sips out of your bottle while she says, «This is good, it doesn’t taste like beer!» Served in a bottle, not on tap. The toughest thing about eating at Eat Chow is figuring out what to order. The problem is real. Do I get the Egg White Mole Burrito? Chilaquiles? Smoked Salmon Benedict? The Fried Eggs with Prosciutto and Truffle Oil? Lemon Marscapone French Toast? Media Noche Cubano? How do you solve the problem? With more visits of course!

This place never disappoints!!! Portions are huge and food is delicious! Came here for dinner on a Sunday night with a party of three. Besides their regular sandwich, soup menu they had a special summer menu. I went with their Summer BBQ chicken and it was delicious. The dry rub that it was marinated with had a nice, rich spicy flavor. The chicken was juicy and tender and it came with a potato salad and corn on the cob. The tasty corn on the cob was topped with a tangy sauce and fresh cheese. My BF got their special Chorizo meatball pasta! What! It was pretty good. I’m always amazed at their different menu options every time I dine here. It seems like they like to change it up and be creative but still keep some signature dishes.

In Orange County, brunch places are a dime a dozen. Eat Chow trumps all those fancy brunch spots. Eat Chow has a contemporary feel with a young, hip crowd. The restaurant is relatively small but the wait is worth it and the cooks pump out food fairly quickly. Some things that stand out: Service — the host was so nice and kept an eye on our puppy, made sure he had water, and checked back with us at our table to give us updates on how he was doing. 5 stars to him! He went above and beyond. Service inside the restaurant can be hit or miss depending on which server you get and how packed the restaurant is. Libation selection is pretty good! Stiegel grapefruit beer was delicious as was the guava mimosa. The parking lot is teeny tiny — ride your beach cruisers over or be prepared to do some laps before finding street parking. What we ate: The AM Burger — great flavors and a perfectly runny fried egg. I loved how the bun was airy and soft(not dense and heavy). Short Rib Tostada — 2 huge tostadas, packed with short rib, fresh corn and salsa. Sprinkle some Tapatio on this dish and you are good to go. Pulled Pork Benedict — Perhaps a little heavy on the BBQ sauce and the hollandaise but I am a condiments girl. I liked the flavor combinations. Bottom line — everything on the menu sounds good and probably is good. I’ve been here a handful of times now, always ordering something different, and I have never been disappointed. Happy eating!

Eat Chow is both of our best bets for breakfast in Newport Beach. Yes, you & I. Located right off of PCH on a block that still has the saline scent of the ocean in the air Eat Chow offers little in beach«feel» and even less in desirable parking. In fact, parking is a nightmare so consider yourself advised. The retro vibe of the interior will have you quoting Tarantino movies from the late 90’s and the remarkable coffee from Intelligentsia gets you on game in no time, even with the nastiest of hangovers. Thanks to the adept wait staff, your only worry will be what to get for breakfast and thanks to a menu that is all over the place, this is a considerable decision indeed. Faced with the a hangover for the ages, I went with the Shrimp & Grits. By god, you should too. The best prepped mound of grits I have had in SoCal are laid down and covered with a luscious and savory tomato sauce laced with oils from every meat that ever mattered. Next, cooked Shrimp and Andouille sausage are thrown into the hot tub and a handful of cheese and green onions are used as a blanket. The final touch is a smattering of chipotle aioli. I loved the heat and complexity of flavors in between mouthfuls of coffee. It almost made me forget that pounding headache I had. Almost. I have no question in my mind what I will get next time I over imbibe and find myself on PCH north of MacArthur. Eat Chow has breakfast for the ages.

Really not impressed. We heard about the notorious lines at this place on the weekend, so we came on a weekday around 10am for breakfast/brunch. We stood at the entrance for a good 15min before anyone even acknowledged we were there, there was no hostess and after I said something to one of the staff members, we were told that the kitchen was backed up and they are not seating anyone. This is a rather dumb concept, why can’t customers sit at a table and wait instead of standing in the doorway? Finally got seated and our waiter came to take our drink orders first. I wanted some hot water and when it was brought out the mug was absolutely disgusting, see picture. There was still a hardened coffee ring on the inside of the mug and scratch marks all over. We ordered the egg Benedict, really pricey $ 14 and it was pretty good, only redeeming point at this place. The Parmesan potatoes on the side were really good. Service was very lacking even on a not so busy weekday. Besides the food, everything else was terrible. Definitely will not be coming back.
