Every bakery is measured by the quality of the bread. C’est Si Bön has one of the best baguettes in the county. Very nice selection of treats and cakes.

This place has great bread and baked goods. However, they should sweep the place more. I know it’s easy to make a mess with French bread but someone needs to sweep up the mess. Like my old boss used to say, «If you’ve got time to lean, you’ve got time to clean!»

I purchased some freshly-baked French bread from C’est Si Bön Bakery. The bread had a crispy crust, with a soft center. The bread was«good» in flavor. However, I can buy a much better tasting(freshly baked) French baguette elsewhere in the OC. So, for that reason alone, I am giving 3-stars for the bread. On the other hand, the counter service was excellent! So, I am awarding 5-stars to the staff at C’est Si Bön. Thank you.

The french bread remains the best in Newport-Mesa and probably Orange County, CA. Fresh and crispy top. Delicious. The 6 inch sandwiches are some of my favorite; I love the Havarti cheese at C’est Si Bön. The bran muffins remain a favorite. I also like their bagels and raisin brioche. The counter help has definitely improved since 2012; they are actually very nice these days and efficient, which is a wonderful change. The owners are receptive to any comments and aim to please and produce an amazing product.

So many great things about this place. Their chai teas are so flavorful and at a really great price. Pastries and bagels are always on point. I find the sandwiches to be overpriced for what they are, but they aren’t too bad. Staff is usually pretty great, considering the very early morning crowds they’re dealing with.

3.75 stars This is a great place to grab a quick sandwich or pastry down in Newport Beach. The atmosphere is super casual, even a bit more casual than we had anticipated, and mid day the floors were actually somewhat dirty with crumbs from the constant flow and hustle and bustle of customers. They have ample employees working here and service at the counter is quite fast. There are a few tables in the café but the atmosphere isn’t overly exciting. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and an almond croissant. 3.75 stars almond croissant, this is a rectangular-shaped croissant that does not have any slivered almonds although the marzipan filling was delicious. I’ve had better croissant doughs, definitely passable but not my favorite as the layers were not as airy and top layer not as crisp as I would like. 4 stars roast beef sandwich, ordered on a baguette with provolone, tomato, sprouts, Dijon mustard, and mayo, the sandwich was enjoyed by my husband. 3.85 stars curry chicken salad sandwich on a baguette with tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. The curry chicken salad is sweet but savory as well. They don’t tightly wrap the sandwich, so the chicken salad which was slightly wet was falling out of the bottom and was a little messy to eat, but still tasty. I loved the long thinly sliced cucumber on the sandwich and it makes me think their veggie sandwich would be fantastic. The ingredients seemed fresh enough here but I really wished they roasted and sliced their own meats like turkey and roast beef. Also, be careful if trying to eat the sandwiches on the go as they can be a little messy. If I ordered again I would ask them to completely wrap the sandwich as they only wrap around the middle of the sandwich with one of those square bakery pastry wax papers and neither the bottom nor top of the sandwich were wrapped at all. We enjoyed our visit here, and I especially enjoyed the San Pellegrino grapefruit soda on ice, it was so refreshing.

Not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed in my sandwich here! I tried the turkey sandwich on a whole wheat baguette and it was pretty lacking in flavor. My bf loves this place and rave about it. He said i got the wrong thing(for choosing a healthy sandwich) but I don’t think that should matter! I’ll be back to try other things for sure

Just bought a ham & cheese croissant and yeah… It was pretty good! The place looks nice and there’s a lot of people here so it seems like a local favorite spot here in Newport Beach. Workers are friendly and have pretty girls I would recommend a try.

So great. Fresh pasties and great coffee. Large lines on the weekend but not a lot of great bakeries that bake so many types of breads etc. always a great local place to pop in to every once in awhile.

This place is not as pretty as it could be and a little bit in the middle of nowhere. I got an espresso and the espresso was just a standard illy coffee, too hot and too long. I tried the croissant and it was very buttery, good but not crispy at all.

Our Thanksgiving baguettes were wonderful and who could resist picking up some cinnamon rolls for the road? This place has so many delightful items to choose from. We also bought salami and cheeses and decided to come back for a chicken salad sandwich sometime soon. The service was quick and friendly, even on such a busy day as Thanksgiving. We pre-ordered the baguettes and came in at the scheduled time, they were ready as promised. Excellent!

I have been enjoying the sandwiches here for many years and recently stopped in to grab a turkey and ham sandwich on their freshly baked baguettes. What a difference it makes to enjoy a sandwich on bread that was just baked. They even have the time the bread came out of the oven on their cooling racks. The sandwiches are so easy to order as they have a paper bag that you mark what you would like to have on your sandwich, and it’s usually ready to pick up in about 5 minutes. They also have a great selection of pastries and coffee. The parking can be a bit tight here, so it’s best if you can stop in during off peak hours.

If you want a good sandwich, come here! They have the freshest and best baguettes around. I’ve been coming here on and off over the years and I’m always very satisfied. We recently ordered a ham, turkey and swiss on a baguette. It came with fresh lettuce and tomato. We ordered it with extra pickles and dijon mustard. The large sandwich is big enough to share. As soon as you bite into it, you hear the crunch and taste the freshness of the bread. It’s so good, I sometimes just come here to buy the bread. We also got a fresh honey and apple cinnamon roll. I love the fresh yeasty smell of the roll. It’s not overly sweet, and my taste buds just want more! I also highly recommend the chewy caramel and pecan diamond bars. It’s so delicious and you can tell they use lots of real butter. There is plenty of parking and you can either sit and eat it there, for they have plenty of tables and chairs, or you can order to go and take it home. The place is clean and the staff are always friendly with a smile. This place gets busy around lunchtime, so do give yourself a little extra time. It’s worth the wait and I will be back!

I love their veggie baguette sandwich! My favorite in OC. They need to open one in Irvine. Told many friends about if for years and we all love to go out there and to bring back many fresh baguettes! Soft and crisp and tasty~

I was preplanning my 5 stars even hours before trying the chocolate bomb cake. Thank the good lord — this place has it all. I called on two occasions to get informations on their cakes. Both times were very helpful and I totally appreciated Sean’s good energy. Got the chocolate bomb cake with last minute, yet awesome writing. I also grabbed the most delicious warm cinnamon banana scone and a coffee. This whole experience made my day and I can’t wait to go back when I have more time to hang out and to try more goodies. «It’s sandwich time.»

I am always down for a great sandwich… and this place delivers! Now I’m all about a shit ton of ingredients in my sandwich, so when I saw the options(or lack there of) I was a bit afraid(I mean no lettuce, spinach, pepperchinis, and ONIONS). I need my red onions!!! However, the sandwiches are very good! I love the whole wheat baguette, it has a nice crunch on outside and soft on the inside. My mom really enjoyed her tuna salad on whole wheat baguette, and a dark chocolate truffle. The first time I ate there, but now I take it to go… why? Because when I get home I cut myself up a lot of red onions and put it on that baby… perfect! I also get the 9″…eat half for dinner and take the other half to work the next day!

Best baguette sandwiches in OC? I can’t be certain, but they are in the running, you be the judge. I first had C’est Si Bön over 15 years ago when I worked in the area and fell in love with their baguette sandwiches. It’s still as good as it was back then, which is a good thing. If you like your baguettes firm and crunchy on the outside but soft, airy, and chewy on the inside, then you’ll like C’est Si Bön’s baguette. The bread is more like Vie de France’s than Cream Pan(they follow more of the harder almost burnt crust school). I’m a fan of both the almost burnt and not burnt but crispy, as long as the middle is airy and chewy(not too dense or doughy). Your sandwich is fully customizable, so if you mess it up, it’s your fault! Size: 6″, 9″, 12″ Meat: Chicken Curry, Chicken Tarragon, Turkey, Black Forest Ham, Salami, Tuna, Roast Beef, Veggie, Brie. Bread: Baguette, Whole Wheat Baguette, Croissant, Sliced Bread Cheese: Swiss, Provolone, Cheddar, Havarti, Brie Spread: Mayo, Dijon Mustard, Yellow Mustard, Butter, Balsamic Vinaigrette. Veggies: Sprouts Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber, Cornichon Pickles(get the pickles!) You can also add extra meat and avocado for extra charge. Salads: Chicken Curry, Chicken Tarragon, Green, Gourmet, Pasta, Tuna. They also have various croissants, scones, pastry rolls, cakes, coffee and an expresso bar. C’est Si Bön always seems to have steady foot traffic whether it’s a weekday or weekend. If your sandwich hasn’t come out 5 – 7 minutes after you’ve paid for your order, check with them, because sometimes your sandwich will just be sitting on the ready to distribute shelf but they’ll forget to call your name. If you get the 12″, just know that it is a lot of sandwich for one person, but just right for two average hungry people to split. Perfect for that picnic, bonfire or cruise around the harbor that you were planning!

The best baguette and illy in town! I was really delightfully surprised. I used to live in Germany, good baguette and coffee, I know them. This is not large or fancy place you can enjoy Sunday brunch, I will drive far to get this kind of level of baguette and coffee.
