Awful experience yesterday. I understand it’s busy on the weekends but 45 minute line with 12 people in it. They purposely slow it down. Then told when ordering, it will be 40 mins for fried food. Outside at the tables, people waiting over an hour. No manager or anyone who cared. Got a refund and left. It’s a bummer as its a lot closer but Browns or Markey’s is in from now on. Don’t waste your time unless you have a few hours.

Found this little gem on Unilocal, and what a great find… Located on the way to Plum Island, in a picturesque area by the water, Bob Lobster was convenient and easy to find. Parking was plentiful. The staff was SUPER friendly. Dining outside was fun and relaxing. The lobster roll, fried scallops and clams were so delicious. Even the coleslaw was tasty. You cannot miss this place if you in the area!

Stopped here on the way home. Friendly staff and a great spot. I ordered the lobster roll which was decent. The lobster meat was delicious; mostly claw meat. The roll was also packed with a little too much celery. However, the downfall was the completely stale roll it came on. The roll literally flaked apart in my hand and was completely inedible. It kind of ruined the lobster roll for me. I still give this place 3 stars because the lobster meat was good and it was a nice clean place unlike a lot of seafood stops. Probably won’t return though.

stopped here leaving Plum Island beach and was impressed by the freshness and portions of the seafood. they are quite pricey but it makes sense in such a touristy area. our fishermans platter was $ 28 and easily fed two people but wasn’t overwhelming in size like many other places. I liked the option of designing a combination platter for $ 22.00 which our friend did and paired the whole belly clams and scallops. The pricing was only worth it if you picked options like that though. again, portion was fair but did not exceed any expectations. I liked the outdoor seating and the option to buy fresh seafood to take home as well as pre made frozen seafood pies, etc.

We ordered a lobster roll with warm butter, fried clams and lobster corn chowder and it was amazing! Fresh tasting and made perfectly. We will be going there every time!

Tried the clam chowder, fish chowder and fries. I wasn’t a fan of the fish chowder, but it is a gluten free option, so I respect Bob Lobster for experimenting. The clam chowder was great and so were the fries.

Eons ago I lied in Boston and I remember with great fondness the first lobster roll I had(at an outdoor terrasse at a place on the tip of Provincetown). OMG it was to die for! I wanted my two kids to experience that blissful taste of a legitimate, new England lobster roll. So on our recent trip to the area, we stopped in to Bob’s Lobster(we had read how it made the«Best of» list for lobster rolls in a recent local magazine). And we sure weren’t disappointed! FIrst off, the ambience is authentic New England seafood shack-esque: right on the water, with benches for dining outside(many with umbrella coverage from the sun), with stacks and piles of lobster crates nearby(and they are not just props, for show. These are utilitarian, real lobster traps, used daily to catch the lobsters!). The inside of the«shack» is not fancy: a tank holding live lobsters, a counter to place your orders, another side counter to purchase seafood and sides to take home. That’s it. Nothing to write home about in terms of interior design! But pragmatic, workable New England aesthetics? Yes, in droves. There’s a side room with benches to eat indoors if one wants, but it is small and somewhat cramped and I wouldn’t dream of eating indoors unless there’s a downpour outside. There was a long line to place orders when we were here, but it moved along in decent time. And the food! Wow, you cannot get fresher seafood, caught that morning. My kids adored the lobster rolls, as I knew they would. They commented on how it wasn’t heavily with mayo and, in fact, had minimal mayo(which they were pleased about). The lobster was soft and moist and super super fresh. The bread roll, super buttery and toasted to perfection. They also had cups of New England clam chowder(very different than what we get in Seattle, which is also excellent, but just different), and they went MAD for the fried clams! They were in ecstasy! For my part, I had a shrimp cocktail which was delicious but nothing really special, and I had some of the accompanying cole slaw which I enjoyed. Sitting outside, looking at boats on the water, beside all the lobster crates, eating lobster rolls and crabs, all on a sunny afternoon… what a perfect New England lunch! Can’t get better than that.

Super enjoyable lunch! Driving from Boston to NH we decided to stop in at Bob’s for something Lobster. I opted for the Lobster and Corn Bisque, really tasty. Two lobster rolls were ordered and inhaled by others. The outside dining at picnic tables is very picturesque with a view of the water and boats. Order inside and your food will be brought out. Also ordered were some live lobsters and steamers for dinner that night. The girl at the counter was friendly and took care of the longish line with ease. The young man who brought out the food to the table delivered it with a smile. Thanks Bob for my Lobster fix and a great start to my vacation! Note: Inside dining as well, but on a pretty day the outside tables are where it’s at!

We came here on a Friday for linner(around 5:30−6pm), the line wasn’t that long but still took a bit of time to get through. You can choose to eat inside or outside, although the inside felt a little claustrophobic. There were a lot of tables squeezed into a small space that looked like it had shorter ceilings with not many windows. They also have at least 5 – 10 separate bench tables outside which was perfect, overlooking the marsh. It started storming while I was there, but it was worth the blustery experience sitting outside, breathing in some faint salty air. I got the lobster roll($ 13?) and clam chowder($ 4) The lobster roll was not what I was expecting — it’s served very lightly seasoned on top of a normal hot dog roll. It may have had lettuce with it, but all in all nothing was done to bring out the natural sweetness of the lobster, and the available salt was plugged up so I couldn’t use that either. It wasn’t that big but it was enough since I wasn’t that excited about the lobster — it was a little rubbery and it wasn’t really dressed up. It came with cole slaw, which tasted fresh and light, but I wasn’t a huge fan. The clam chowder was really good. It was very, very creamy. There were more potatoes than clams but it was such a nice end to my meal on a cold Friday evening. It was rich and indulgent. They also had a bunch of other varieties — fried clams, fried oysters, fried scallops, all their appetizer prices are really expensive though. They also had fresh seafood that you could order and on that day had a great twin lobster deal($ 22).

Haddock dinner was fresh and tasty. Cole slaw and fries were delicious. They do accept cards. Super surprised as small places like these are cash only. Good selection of richardson’s ice cream. It’s byob. Good to know for next time. Reminds me of brown’s.

Two friends suggested that we try Bob so we arrived on a beautiful, sunny Friday afternoon around 1 pm. Most of the outdoor picnic tables were occupied and several people were ahead of us in line but it didn’t take too long to place our orders. My friend and I decided on sharing a lobster roll with the cole slaw as the side and the two way combo: coconut shrimp and fried scallops, cole slaw and onion rings as a substitute for a $ 2 upcharge. Our total(without drinks) was $ 40.35. After ordering, we opted to sit outside(had to wait a few minutes for a table to become available) and our order was going to be brought out to us. Downside, no bathrooms … only 2 port-a-potties. Immediately outside of the port-a-potties were two hand sanitizing stations but we though they should at least have an outdoor sink with soap and water, especially since most of the food that is served is eaten with your hands. It took probably 10 minutes for our orders to arrive. The onion rings weren’t hot but crispy, the scallops appeared to be halved but very hot, and the 4 coconut shrimp were tasty but nothing to rave about. Cole slaw dressing a bit heavy. The lobster was very fresh, dressing perfect but overall, the portions were not big given the cost. We left satisfied but not full. Glad we tried it but probably wouldn’t go out of our way to return.

I may have waited for a lobster roll longer than I’ve waited to get to meet Ryan Reynolds once upon a time. And it may have been my quivering hunger talking, but it was quite possibly the best lobster roll I’ve ever tasted. It only took about an hour and chatting up a couple from Wisconsin, teaching my 6 year old niece how to do a bro-ey exploding fist bump out of boredom(I know I’ll regret this later), relearning Patty Cake via my niece, and several I’m Starving selfies later, but alas… On weekends, this place is apparently hotter than the hottest club opening in Vegas, with lines 30 deep, but the freshly caught lobster(you can actually see a collection of fishing cages just outside) and ample selection of crabcakes, salmon, etc. is worth the sacrifice. Just make sure you carry some crackers or some survival snacks as you wait to be served. Unless you want to go down the deep, dark path of no return, of teaching someone a bro-ey exploding fist bump. Godspeed.

A Fried Clam Platter is my usual order when I eat at a seafood shack. But after this time I found myself wondering if I had grown tired of fried clams? Because I really did not enjoy them at Bob Lobster :( I’m not quite sure what the problem was, but I think it was the size. Too small? On the contrary — too big! These were ridiculous — more than twice as big as any other clam I’ve ever seen. Not only were they huge but they didn’t have the right shape(no «handle» like a normal fried clam). So, the soft squishiness of a whole clam«belly», which is tolerable and even pleasant when normal-sized became something else entirely when oversized, and decidedly NOT in pleasant way. Their size made them unsuitable for fried clams. Like a quahog they may have been better-suited for chopping for clam chowder or stuffing perhaps? And they had little or no flavor of any sort — again not like the clams I am used to with their characteristic earthy brininess — totally lacking in these. To add to their defects they seemed undercooked to me. The attentive wait-staff asked how I was enjoying them and I told them(at my wife’s urging), and they cheerfully took them back without a fuss while I continued with my oysters, french fries, and cole slaw(I got the clam/oyster combination plate this time). When my clams were returned(or were they new clams?) they were cooked much better but still had the same lack of flavor and I still wasn’t comfortable with the size or texture. The oysters were a disappointment as well, for the opposite reason — too small! So small I could hardly taste the oyster under its batter coating. French fries were mediocre. Too large for my preference and they seemed frozen — not fresh(though I am not postitive about this). Cole slaw was adequate. The wife got a lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. She said the lobster roll was ok but not memorable or anything to get excited about. I don’t remember her saying anything positive or negative about the chowder. The setting was nice enough. We sat outside next to a pretty tidal creek right off Plum Island. I probably would not return here, but if I did I definitely would order something other than fried seafood.

Great service. Food comes much quicker than expected. Perfect spot to watch the sunset while enjoying dinner outside on the picnic benches. They also have limited seating inside. Plenty of parking. Now as far as the food, and we ordered quite a variety coming to $ 130 total for 4 adults and 2 kids, it was a bit underwhelming. The lobster roll was soggy and tasted a bit rubbery. The lobster meat might have been a bit overdone and was mostly pieces of the smaller clam. The fried clams were pretty good. Not greasy or oily. The fried oysters on the other hand were tasteless and needed to be cooked a bit longer. We ordered 2 of the chicken finger/fries combos for the kids. I was shocked to see how stingy this place was on the fries. I have never seen a restaurant skimp on the fries, but the plates they gave to my kids were barely ¼ full. My wife’s $ 22 dinner plate also looked more like a half eaten leftover plate with no more than 10 – 15 french fries. Truly bizarre. The one saving grace was the unbelievably delicious fried scallops. So much so that we had to order a second batch. They were thinly sliced and battered — almost as if they were thinly fried scallop potato chips. Again this was served in a very small portion which for $ 18 was way overpriced. If I were to suggest any changes I would highly recommend increasing the portions to be more in line with prices. I recognize that seafood is pricy, but skimping on the french fries is unnecessary. And I strongly believe you should not leave hungry after spending over a hundy which for the first time ever our kids were. That left me flabbergasted. I am liberally giving 3 stars due to the friendly/fast service, delicious scallops and tasty ice cream. If I could I would give them 2 ½.

Perfect in its simplicity. I’m a big fan of restaurants that do classic dishes really really well. Bob Lobster is one of these places. To be fair, I don’t think the formula for a good lobster roll is all that complicated. Fresh lobster, not too much mayo/butter, toasted bun — it’s pretty hard to mess up. This place is no exception. They’ve got this sandwich down. Throw in a batch of extra crispy fries and I’m a happy camper. And I normally don’t give a hoot about atmosphere but the vista you have in the outdoors seating area is picturesque. Fresh air, blue skies, great seafood — that’s what I call a New England experience. Highly recommend stopping by on your way into Plum Island.

This place is unbelievable. Yeah, you’ve gotta deal with tight parking, waiting in line, and no actual bathrooms, but it’s all worth it. Last year, I got twin lobster tails for $ 20. We ended up paying $ 60 for four lobster tails, an order of steamers, and drinks. It was unreal, especially considering some of the other places that cost 4x as much right up the road. Side note: YOUCANBYOB! Great way to finish up a day at the beach, or a stopping for lunch.

Delicious fish and chips not too greasy! Nice view of a nearby wetland. I didn’t think the Cole slaw or fries were that flavorful but the fish was absolutely top notch and fresh. Stop by if you’re in the area.

For $ 55 we had fish and chips, twin lobsters(that come with fries and coleslaw) oysters and sodas. AMAZING food. You can come in and buy live lobsters at an excellent price or order some and eat there. Whatever you decide to do, the quality of food is amazing. Super fresh, at a decent price, and mouth watering. Family vibe to this place. Swing by the beach, eat here and call it a day!

Unilocal sent me here on my way to Maine. Wow. What a fabulous meal — kids had fantastic chicken strips and fish and chips, I went for the twin lobster situation, it’s a daunting task, to devour two gianormous lobsters, but I just finished the Boston Run to Remember half marathon and was feeling unusually ambitious. Sadly I could not eat more than one but they let me to do a take out. In truth this place was a slice of heaven with beautiful outdoor seating arrangement. The weather was in its high sixties, it sort of reminded me home back in the bay area, and it was simply a perfect day to dine outside. Food is a five. Service is a five. Atmosphere, Five plus. Absolutely heavenly. Thinking — this is a must visit destination every time I’m back in the Boston area.
