Had dinner here a few nights ago. The service was one of the worst experiences ever. Our waiter was completely on another planet. This used to be one of my favorite places to have dinner on Front st. but they really need to close for a few days and revamp the menu. They have the same verbal«specials» that they had TWOYEARSAGO. Sorry, that’s not what a daily special is. My dinner plate was dirty and scratched. Plain and simple, they are asleep at the wheel. Get back to where you used to be owners! This place used to be very elegant, and it’s lost it’s shine.

Recently came back here and brought some visiting family members to this restaurant. I was sadly disappointed and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone! First the over food was extremely expensive and the food was below par! I ordered a plate a fried calamari and was presented with this rubber, soggy, and was given a few pieces of the food! Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for the price! What happened to you guys?! You guys were once awesome! Been here plenty of the times in the place for years and now you’re serving crappy overpriced food!!! Sorry Cena2000 but you officially lost a customer!

I’ve enjoyed many dinners here. Drinks and wine are great. Food is always delicious. Yes it can get very busy here during the spring and summer so don’t come if you are in a rush. Come to relax and enjoy the food drinks view and your company

The ambience, especially the patio is well worth the experience overlooking the Hudson. The service is absolutely superb as is the bar menu however the pasta plates are prepared with an overabundance of sauce removing any subtlety from the entrée’s served. For the ambience, drinks and service alone it is well worth a visit however I would be forego the entrée in my next visit.

I was back for dinner this week and once again, it was delicious! It’s a great place to have a slow private conversation, so I get the table inside the dining room when others want to be on the terrace, and the opposite in the winter. Gnocci with ground lamb in a tomato cream sauce. Truly great. Dover sole over sauté spinach. The sole was grilled and the char came through the olive oil and garlic. Grgich Hills Chard, opulent, tasty and worth the cost. In all, once again a terrific $ 250 dinner for two. We got what we paid for and the service was attentive, reserved and professional.

Good food but by no means exceptional and very overpriced. We ordered the special caprese salad and the tomatoes were not even ripe, mozzarella nothing better than you get at Adams. My ravioli was doughy and clearly previously frozen($ 23). My husbands ziti(ziti!!) was $ 27 with sausages and peas. Salads are not included. It is clearly a scene and that is what you are paying for. There are better places for the money in the Hudson Valley that pride itself on seasonal fresh ingredients with creative flair and this was a disappointment and waste of good money.

Restaurant week March 2016. I had grilled calamari and the salmon. Dad had the Caprese salad and duck. Amazing desserts too. Great weather. Highly recommend. For dinner too!

As a lover of good food– my recommendation is to look elsewhere. Wanted a great meal with a nice view, ended up with a great view and a regretful meal. I had a «whole grilled fish» which came as 2 fillets(NOT a whole fish as I was expecting the head and tail) — rubbery and tasteless. Pasta with salmon was average– but searched far and wide for the actual salmon. Dessert was quite good– peach pie — and as it turns out this(and waking out of the restaurant) was the only enjoyable part of the meal. Entrees ran around $ 35 each. I had a glass of house wine which was barely acceptable. Beer selection was disappointing and predictable — had to choose among the vast list of domestic crappy beer. The adventurous will need to order a Blue Moon to feel exotic. If you insist on going, grab a table as close to the water as possible, enjoy a cocktail, and find somewhere else to eat.

1) the restaurant is very accommodating. 2) waitstaff is pleasant, knowledgable, and courteous. 3) the view, on a summer evening, is great. Sit outside. 4) everything we ordered from food to drinks was very good. This is definitely a great place, and you should check it out. I’m actually writing this while sitting at the bar facing the river.

If you want to discretely avenge someone with bad food, then you’re in for luck! Besides being ridiculously pricey, I found my experience with this restaurant rather bitter. I requested a take out of carpaccio-which is a pretty signature Italian dish and usually topped with a signature finish(some sauce/cheese/etc), here to be a literate and plain meat and greens, with nothing extravagant added on top. Normally the meat is supposed to be cold, fresh, and red in color, and thinly sliced-when I open my box, I not only found a lack of utensils(very inconsiderate to leave a take out without utensils), but I found my meat a heavy unfresh looking brown-and smelling awful, like it’s been left out for a good few hours in humidity. Needless to say I didn’t proceed to eat this disgusting dish, so I ate the bland tossed greens with with my bare hands for the $ 14 I just wasted-something I could have bought at Shop Rite for $ 3 max. Don’t recommend this place. Seriously.

I think the food and atmosphere are excellent. Drinks and desert fantastic. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think it’s a little over priced. It IS expensive here — but I’ve never been disappointed in the quality of experience.

I’ve ate a Cena for multiple meals and it’s always fantastic. The staff is always polite, attentive, and willing to work with you on whatever accommodation you may need. The bartenders Bobby and Dion are always talkative and very nice. The food from starters to your desert will be wonderful. They always offer a multiple specials which are all phenomenal. The Owner and the Manager are always there to supervise so you know the entire staff cares. Best outside dining on the Newburgh Waterfront.

Had visited before. Recently took some relatives visiting from the South. Sat outside right at the edge towards the water. Foot traffic was light on the pathway, even though it was a beautiful Friday evening, so an enjoyable experience. Food was great. Drinks well made, although the waiter was confused between the Grey Goose and Bombay Sapphire martinis when bring seconds. but we didn’t let it go to waste. Waiter was attentive without hovering. We spent a long time there, so when bad dance music was turned up at the place next door, we asked to move inside for dessert and coffee. We were accommodated, without hesitation. On a busy night at the waterfront, parking can be a challenge, but results in a short walk after a great meal.

Expensive, but the service and food are excellent! We have been here several times and keep coming back because of the awesome bartender at the outside bar. He is always there when we go. His Martini is excellent! And his presentation is just as good. It is a bit pricey, but honestly worth it if you want to have a really great dinner in a nice atmosphere with a beautiful view.

Don’t come here. Servers are rude and so are managers. We had a table of four walking towards the door, the manager was walking in front of us and didn’t even hold the door for us! I came here for desert and drinks one time at the outside bar. When I asked for my check, he didn’t give me one and just said $ 28. I asked him again for my bill and it actually said it was $ 27 and some change. The guy tried to pocket fifty cents or something. Thieves! Won’t be back!

I see a lot of mixed reviews here. I just ate here a few weeks ago with a party of 4. I found the service terrific. Just the right amount of attention to the table without being overbearing. The food was delicious. I had the swordfish steak. It was nice, clean, well mannered and attentive staff, beautiful view, and a great meal with a price tag of 105 per person with a bottle of wine and dessert. Parking on the waterfront is always a joy(not!) And for all of you complaining about the price, you want to eat out you gotta pay! otherwise buy a flippin box of mac and cheese and sit on your couch in your underwear. Restaurants have the responsibility to give you a great dining experience and great food commensurate with the price. This one held up its end. Great place. I would definitely go there again., Ladies and Gentlemen… That’s my time.

Beautiful view, food was good but not worth the price tag. When I asked for grilled chicken on my salad, little did I know that they would add $ 16 to a $ 12 salad.

Brilliant from beginning to end. Arrived Saturday 730 reservations for 4. From the minestrone soup, beet salad, seafood risotto to all the entrées. Breaded veal chop, grilled veal medallions with spinach, black pasta with lobster, mushrooms. Outrageously presented. Large portions. All piping hot with color and fantastic flavor to each and every dish. I highly recommend and we will go back again. Great night. Great food. EXPENSIVEBUTWORTHIT! Remember, great view, great service, hot tasteful food.

After a long day of wine tasting we stop by the Newburgh waterfront and stumbled upon Cena. We started with a beer and a cocktail which the cocktail was just amazing. I don’t recall the name but if you see the pictures you know I’m talking about. We had a beautiful view of the waterfront while having our drinks and it was just lovely. We ordered all the appetizers and entrées and then the server process olive oil with the sun-dried tomato dip it was just scrumptious. The calamari was very fresh and crispy just right. The filet mignon penne pasta was delicious!!!
