I was a little hesitant going to this place because I dislike sushi. It was my boyfriends birthday so I went. They had a few none sushi items on the menu, which I chose the fried shrimp. It was ok. Nothing special. Very bland. Although my boyfriend loves his sushi. Service was really slow. Only one waitress. Hence the now hiring sign on the outside. I don’t think I would go back. They definitely need to expand their menu.

Best sushi I’ve had in the Newburgh area. Very fresh ingredients, with rolls that are full(no skimping). Lovely location right on the Newburgh waterfront.

We went here for lunch. We walked in and ordered four rolls, two of which were basic rolls. We waited for 35 minutes for the chef to make four rolls. The inside was empty and there was three tables outside which were already eating, so I’m not sure why it took him so long. The rolls themselves were pretty good, and they must have had a lunch special Bc she charged us for less than what was advertised on the menu.

Well, I’d love to rant about how great the food was but sadly I never got the chance. I walked in on Sunday the bar area was almost empty and there was only a party of two waiting in front of me. This won’t be so bad, I’m only one person how long can it really be? The staff including the manager ran past both myself and the party of two a few times without even looking at us. Not asking«How many?» or «just a moment», nothing. After about 10 minuets a woman and who looked like her son just walked in past all three of us waiting even asking if we were waiting, walked to the bar area and the manager ran to them with water and 2 menus. «no thanks.»

Really good sushi but not crazy about the other dishes. I had the salmon teriyaki and it was dry and too little sauce. Will go back though since it’s in Front Street but will stick to the sushi menu.

This place is just OK. Skimpy portions of fish, tuna was a beige color. Overall I was really not impressed. Oh yeah, the service was terrible too… one waiter on a crowded Saturday night is NOTENOUGH!!!

Horrible. Flat out the worst sushi place I’ve ever experienced. 1 hour for apps and we received half our app order. I received half my entrée order after asking server about apps. Dinner came out missing half my order. Eel roll had no eel in it. Hand roll I ordered was straight up terrible. Sake tasted like rubbing alcohol. Asked them to at least take food off bill they forget to bring us, but they never took off bill. Had to tell them to take it off the bill. Sushi rice was mushy garbage. Literally one of the worst dinners ever.

Probably my favorite Sushi Place. It is right on the Water Front, beautiful view especially at night. I usually order the Rainbow Rolls with a side of Alaska Roles. The fish is always fresh, although they don’t serve tea. Their Green Tea ice-cream is excellent for dessert!

We decided to go on Valentine’s Day on the recommendation of a friend. Good was good, not great and beer and wine only :(

This place is sort of mediocre. Their sushi is okay. There’s nothing really special about this place that makes me want to eat here consistently. I would suggest maybe adding some more creative rolls, and special roll dinners to the menu. Also, the menu is kind of boring, add some color and excitement!

Awesome sushi. Great special rolls. Family owned. Can’t ask for more. Great staff, and some if the freshest sushi in the Hudson valley.

I always loved this place. Have been here at least 5 times. I thought food tasted great n fresh. Last visit, I was a bit disappointed. Sushi rice was very bland n over cooked. Icecream tasted old:/ Mayb different chef? I may give this place another chance since service n presentation are always nice. I jus hope food is better next time.

It’s disheartening that I have to update my review from January but it needs to be noted. Again, let me say that my partner and I frequent this spot practically every 2 weeks, if not more, especially when the weather began to warm. With that said, over the past few months, it has been ALL downhill. The service was at an all time low(I mean about 40 minutes before I even received my app), sushi rolls that were not what I asked for, and well… food poisoning or is it more polite to say parasite. I am literally just recovering from last night’s meal and subsequently, my last time eating here.

Decided to go here after registering for classes for grad school. Feeling all high and mighty after it i felt like i should have some sush on the water with my girlfriend. For the most part I loved the place. The waiter was really nice and the view was pretty awesome(overlooking a part of the hudson). The food was solid but one problem. I ordered the lobster sushi(forgot the name) and i expected it to be extravagant or bigger portion for the $ 11+ dollars i spent on that single roll and for some reason I felt as if it tasted not as fresh as i would like. I usually would give a 4 star to a restaurant like this because I did genuinely like this place but my girlfriend ended up having a stomach ache probably 3 pieces into her 2 roll combo. We had to cut our date short after this. But the service was great and it could have been that just that one day my girlfriend had a sensitive stomach. So i will give this place the benefit of the doubt and try this place again at a later time. maybe during my school year when I’m up there…

i was in the area for a conference at the local college and dropped in on this unassuming little sushi restaurant with some friends. we sat by the window, and took in the wonderful, idyllic view. that definitely added to the delightfulness of the meal, since i’m used to eating sushi amidst a torrent of people coming in and out, and random shouting. we got a few rolls from both their special and regular menus. everything was superbly fresh. that’s all i really ask for from my sushi! the crab in the spider roll was fleshy and plump(not deflated and sad), which was awesome. if only all sushi places could have access to such fresh fish. next time i’m in the area, i will definitely drop by again!

Excellent food, wonderful presentation, cozy atmosphere. My wife and I came in for dinner just before 5pm and it was a pleasant, relaxing evening. We had the sliced octopus appetizer, the Akasaka love boat, and we split the banana tempura and green tea ice cream for dessert. All of it was wonderful and the view of the waterfront just made it perfect.
