So went into Payless this evening with my friend and the working was an older male in his late 30s or early 40s and he made us feel very uncomfortable and seem like he was stoned and he didn’t leave us alone the whole time we where in the store and it took him about 10 time mins to ring us up he read the coupon we gave him about 5 times every word on it even the barcode. We will not be returning to that Payless if he is still working because we feel uncomfortable shopping and being watched.

Ladies at the counter have always been super helpful when I have come in. Always check for some online coupons before you head to the register. Shoes seem to last long enough for my kids verse Walmart shoes seem to fall apart quicker.

Why did I ever stop shopping here? To my surprise, shoes have gotten more comfortable… weird right? I found a pair of boots that pseudo looked like they could be riding boots, but they were totally cute and comfortable to boot.(no pun intended!) I could have easily found more shoes, but I decided to stick with my $ 20(yes you read that right) find and exit the store. Thank you Payless! I’ll be back for those boat shoes very soon.

I quickly found a pair of shoes here that I liked and fit my unique needs(non-leather amongst them). The employee who rang me up told me the shoes were NOT on sale as the tag on the box clearly indicated. She went to check the aisle to find another pair to compare the price, but there were no shoes of the same style. So she came back and ripped the sales tag from the box and charged me full-price. I confronted her on this, asking if I was expected to pay full price even though it was not my mistake. She said yes, and offered no apology. I let it slide and paid for the shoes, as I wanted them, despite the false advertising and apathy on the part of the employee. When it comes to Payless Corporate, however, I want to give them 6 stars. I emailed a complaint about my experience. I got a response the very next day(even though it was Saturday). I was told my letter would be passed on to the location and I would be sent an official letter of apology. The apology came quickly, and with a $ 5 gift card. The letter agreed that clearly listed sales prices should be honored. So while I paid $ 3 more for the shoes, I ended up getting $ 5 back. Excellent customer service by Payless Corporate!
