Jerry Raber Ash Street Park

I hope Jerry Raber was a gang banger who liked to drink heavily in front of children and smoke cigarettes and weed all day, otherwise he may of been a bit disappointed this park was named after him.

Very nice & spacious park. I like it because its only designed for one or two parties at a time, because there’s only two spots with benches.
In the middle of the park, there’s a net to play volleyball. Regardless, though, there’s plenty of space to play any sport games. Very nice & green grass.
This park is definitely a place you wanna have a party at, because you don’t have to worry about other strangers around & its easy to watch your kids while they run around. Get there early, so you can claim your spot!
Definitely easy to find parking, closeby too. :)

This park is right around my house and when I first moved to the area I heard really bad things about the park. I see the total opposite! Obviously if you go during the late evening a very suspicious group of teenagers gather around the benches; but if you go during the day (which is the time that anyone should go to a park…) then it is perfectly safe. The grass is nicely kept and the playground is safe. They also have a basketball court and I do see it lit up at night and young adults playing basketball. During the weekends families have picnics and even parties with live music. I walk my dog around the park all the time and we always have a pleasant experience. I think the City should put a little more effort in cleaning the restrooms though. My son had an emergency and I just knew we wouldn’t make it home so i had to take him to the restrooms there and they were filthy. :(

Great place to play softball, baseball, basketball, or volleyball. Nestled in the city of Newark, this park has picnic tables, BBQ grills, a public bathroom, and plenty of space. I was recently here for an all-​day sports day event and had a great time. The softball/​baseball fields are decently maintained (they’re too dry in my opinion) and the full court basketball court is state-​of-​the-​art. Bring your own volleyball net or use the one already put up.
If you want a spot without a reservation, come here early and stake out 1 of the 4 picnic areas.
