Long story short, they were sold out of every cookie I asked for…

Another one of those places that make me count my blessings that I don’t pass by any of their locations during my daily travels. A veritable shrine to baked goodness, Insomnia Cookies has helped many a student make it through tough nights of studying. While I only know that because of my own college freshman daughter, what I have had on the couple of visits makes me realize that they know their stuff. The Triple Chocolate Chunk is decadently delicious, but the Oatmeal Raisin is really my favorite. This location is small, so the line can often snake out the door and onto the street. Still, it’s worth the wait.

I must say I’m a little disappointed with insomnia cookies. Today was my first time trying them and I don’t think I’ll bs back soon. First things first, I placed an order online and the biggest pet peeve when ordering online is a website that forces you to create a log in; insomnia cookies website is one of those. Anyway, I ordered the cookies and it was an estimated 15 – 20 minutes for them to be done so I sent my boyfriend. When he arrived about a half hour later the person at the front said they didn’t get any orders, he asked if he could check again the person says yeah and disappears in the back… and never came back. By this time he called me to make sure I actually ordered which I was able to confirm when I logged back into my new account on the website. Eventually someone told him he could order cookies they just wouldn’t be fresh and that they were in warmers. I got 6 for $ 8. It honestly was not worth the money. Cookies were very small not only that, they were moist but only bc they were undercooked. Way too doughy for my taste. The best one was the m&m cookie, the sugar by far was the worst. Hopefully it was just an off night. The website does need to be fixed, it’s a huge inconvenience when ordering to create a log in just for the merchant not to receive the order anyway. I’ll try again in a few months when I have a random cookie craving.

Outstanding cookies. They’re still hot right when you get them. Their ice cream selection leaves a lot to be desired but the actual cookies themselves are amazing and cheap. Stop in if you have a sweet tooth

I love this place; my first exposure to insomnia cookies was in Philadelphia, where I visited several locations, including a cookie truck near Drexel’s campus. I started thinking, «Why isn’t there one of these next to U. Delaware?» and shortly after that, this location opened up. I am very surprised at people commenting that the prices are high. Seriously? It’s $ 1.35 for a cookie… some places in malls or other locations sell big cookies that aren’t good for even more than this. It’s also only a few cents more than a dunkin donut, and I think it’s much better, at least to me. I usually go with chocolate chunk but I like most of the cookies here. The«deluxe» cookies are massive and I usually can’t finish one of them, but if I’m really hungry I can usually eat two regular cookies. I also am really surprised at the comment that the cookies are«far too sweet». I actually have a pretty strong aversion to overly sweet baked goods. The sweetness level of these cookies seems pretty moderate – and well within the range of what I like. My only suggestion for improvement? I know this may seem weird to some people but I really wish they sold whole wheat chocolate chip cookies. I love the flavor of whole wheat and when one of my friends baked whole wheat chocolate chip cookies and I was like, «Wow, this is freaking awesome!» And whole grains are a lot healthier. I think it would be a really great offering if they would offer a whole grain option other than the oatmeal raisin cookies(which do have a bit of whole grain in them although I think they’re still made with normal white flour). Just a thought! I love this place though and I’ll keep coming back.

Cool place for a little pick me up. Cookies are warm when you buy them. Need more selection but over all good cookies. Give it a try.

The cookies and service are all ok. I didn’t think anything about them was particularly special. The price was very high it seemed for what was offered, but if you’re in a pinch and don’t feel like baking them yourself, this is a fine alternative. I will say, though, that there online website is extremely poorly designed. It forces you to make an account to order and is needlessly complicated at times.

Insomnia predominantly caters to the drunk or lazy college student thanks to their delivery service and hours. But the cookies are gross… They’re gooey because they’re undercooked, and they’re far too sweet. Get an equivalent snack for less by microwaving a grocery store cookie with a damp paper towel.

Finally, there is an Insomnia Cookies in Delaware! So long, car trips to Philly to enjoy these cookies. Once you walk into the store, your senses are enticed with the fresh smell of cookies baking in the oven. The cookies cost $ 1.35 for one, but you get a discount when you buy them in bulk. I love the chocolate chunk and the double chocolate chunk. With every bite, you get a nice rich taste of chocolate from the chunks. If you are a chocoholic, you will like the double chocolate chunk. The oatmeal raisin cookie is also excellent. It is moist, chewy, and slightly sweet like an oatmeal cookie should be. Actually, I like all their cookies, but I usually stick with the aforementioned cookies. If you live in the Newark/UD area, do yourself a favor, stop by and buy some cookies from this place. I guarantee that you will eat them all up like the Cookie Monster.
