Stay next-door for the extra money. This was not a good experience. Long hairs in my sink and on the shower curtain and the toilet rim had pee drops on it when I got there. The biggest complaint is the wireless. You get free if you are a hilton honors member. It is less than a MB. Seriously? This is 2016! My phone was getting 10G. The TV barely works as well. Takes a few minutes to come on and then major delays changing channels. I wont be back.

Another place where the staff was better than the facilities, so I’m not going to beat this place up. It was conveniently located to the University of Delaware orientation location – and walking distance from the Creamery which we forgot to visit – and occupies the«value» end of the hotel spectrum. First, getting to the place from 95 requires a U turn, and don’t bother with the GPS because it seems to think the driveway is an actual road, so that’s confusing as hell. The hotel is clean, as are the rooms, but you can tell the place is a little dated. The air conditioning in our room(603) was noisy, but we didn’t realize it until it was close to 11pm and, with an early start, there was no time to change rooms(even if one was available because it was orientation day). The beds were soft, and the pillows were probably too soft, and the tub’s anti-slip coating had been completely worn away so you had to be really careful lest you risk slipping and ending your trip. The toilet would run too long after flushing. OK, I think you get the point about the room. Breakfast – complementary, natch – was your standard fare: bacon, eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt, various beverages. The coffee was pretty good, and the staff was incredibly helpful and cheerful. So, would I return? The price was excellent and it’s almost in the middle of campus, so if\when we return to visit our daughter(not Parent’s Weekend… that was slammed), I would consider it. I just wouldn’t promise you that you’re getting deluxe accommodations.

Typical Homewood suites, good location, price and facility. But… Natasha made me a salad late last night after I arrived after the food was all packed up and put away. It was the best salad ever, particularly because I was starving! Thank you Natasha. This morning Kathy made me the best waffle, I was in a hurry and she saw that and had me put my luggage in the car and come back in for my waffle, all ready to go. Thank you Kathy!

Stayed here once and have another reservation coming up. Right across the street from UDel football stadium and ice rinks. We stay overnight in Newark every so often for hockey games and like to stay near the rink. Checked in late in the evening so it was quiet. Staff was friendly and check in was quick. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfy! Shower left a little to be desired — shower doors did not open and close well and shook and made so much noise I thought we were going to wake up the whole floor. Shower was so narrow you couldn’t move — constantly bumped and bruised arms on walls. I am sticking with 4 stars and I am going back this weekend despite the shower. Cleanliness, spacious, comfort outweighs the shower size and doors.

Update: now that we’ve checked out, the only thing I have to add is that the tub floor was very slippery, with no bath mat. When I checked out, I mentioned this. The woman at the desk told me I could have asked for a mat. Now, I’m thinking to myself, right! I’m in the shower, slipping, so I’m to get out and call for a bath mat? Each time this has happened in other stays, I’ve been told mats are not available. Hmmmmm…

Very happy with my stay. The suites are like mini apartments with pretty much a full kitchen, unlike Embassy Suites which have a small refrigerator and maybe a microwave. The beds were very comfortable. It was quiet at night. There is full complimentary breakfast and dinner buffet style Monday through Thursday. Dinner was usually an entrée, salad, side dish/es. But there is also free beer and wine(with a minimum). The eating area has plenty of seating and has TVs. Everyone who I spoke with who works here was super friendly. The one pain, which is no fault of the hotel — is that you can only make a right hand turn out of the parking lot. Hard to do sometimes during the morning commute. But compared to everything else this place has to offer, that’s bearable.

Solid performer with great staff. Morning breakfast and evening food is decent and a quiet place. When you are looking for this place look for the TGI Friday’s and Embassy Suites — I drove by it in the rain twice.

I stayed at this hotel last week(Sept 2012) and going back for more this coming week. The property is spacious, clean, and very friendly staff. The bed is super comfortable and I would like to order one home please. The hotel also serve complimentary breakfast and dinner daily. And you also have a mini kitchen in your room as if you need to cook more food.

I could not be happier with my stays at the Homewood Suites, which is an upscale Hilton brand with incredibly large suites that may include a bigger sitting room than my own apartment. Every time I go to Newark, I enjoy the central location of the Homewood, near enough to the Bluehen football/basketball facilities to walk(but across a busy highway). Every time I stay here overnight, and even once when I was only passing through during the day, the friendly and capable front desk staff has always been helpful in providing me with referral to a local taxi service, with several back-ups because the first cab you call in Newark is usually always off duty or busy. This kind of service may be hard to find in Newark but I am glad to know where to get the best treatment as a hotel guest in the area and I will gladly book here again. Most importantly, the hotel is very clean and for an extended weekday stay you may be able to obtain the luxury of food and beverage perks without having to leave your hotel.

uhh can you say, free dinner and free beer monday thru thursdays? How the hell can you top that. The homewood suite chain might not have the best beds and what not but, SOFTWATER and a living room is sure a perk in my book.(Even though this soft water thing is kinda weird when trying to rinse off soap) To top it off, the über friendly staff is definitely a key to my wonder stay here.(im lying all it took was free beer and wine)
