Hamburgao

Im not a huge fan of this place, but I would definitely recommend you give it a try at least once. Where else are you going to get a burger with corn and potato sticks on it?

Brazilian burgers are an interesting concept. Brazilians and portugese do a great job with their style of BBQ… but burgers?
This is my second time trying Hamburgao… last time I tried the Lafayette Street restaurant which is also in Newark.
The burger I had was loaded up with a fried egg, potato sticks, cheese, corn, lettuce and tomato and bacon on a Kaiser type roll. ($ 6.50 for a burger) Its not for the faint of heart. While it is interesting and different and a nice change of pace from the usual fast food burger, the burger was just ok for me. The burger is not the usual ground beef patty, it looks to be a piece of some type of steak. The meat is not juicy and, for me, all those toppings didn’t really blow me away. I prefer a thicker burger that is cooked «medium»…one where you bite into and the juices flow out. I did like the crispy fries and the service was fast and very friendly.
Hamburgao is a nice change of pace from fast food burgers but didn’t blow me away. I ‘d give it around a 2.5 and I rounded up because I liked the fries and the service was fast and friendly.

Great burgers! Huge. Filled with cheese, ham, chicken, pineapple, lettuce, tomato, and potato sticks! Delicious! But even better are the fries. Best fries I’ve ever had. Extra crunchy and awesome dipped in their pink sauce (a mix of mayo and ketchup). Don’t just eat a salad here, you would be missing out big time.

Best Brazilian hamburger, I especially recommend you try the cheese egg with lots of the especial sauce, my favor.
