I love this place… The food is absolutely yummy and upscale… The drinks really great, the ambiance fun and the people that work there amicable.

They ONLY get 3 stars because if the NICESERVICE and the spacious outdoor area ! Food was not good… However wine was good! I would only go back to this place to have a glass of wine but not to eat.

Thursday nights are half off sangria pitchers so naturally I found myself liking this place already. Came for a bite and drinks around 8:30pm and Catas was pretty dead. The menu offered meat and cheese plates, tapas, a few burgers and sandwiches as well as entrees. Even though the steak and eggs entrée sounded delicious, I went with the Cuban sandwich. It was surprisingly good. It came with a side of fries. My company had a steak sandwich which was also given a stamp of approval. As for the sangria, we chose the red and it was strong(just how I like it). We struggled to finish the pitcher between the three of us. Service was quick and friendly though it quickly diminished around 9:45 — 10:00pm. That’s when Catas really started to pick up. The bar was full and the DJ was in full force pumping out both old and new jams. Not a terrible place for a Thursday night. Of course, can’t forget Catas is in the ironbound so parking can be an issue. I didn’t notice a parking lot(I was lucky enough to find parking right out front) but I may be wrong.

Went last night to have a surprise party for my lady. Had an amazing time great tapas and sangria. Staff was great and the restaurant was very accommodating as more people showed up than originally planned. We will definitely be back again soon.

Great place to go before a red bulls game. The staff is friendly and attentive, even with the crowds they get before the game. The food is standard bar fare, fried stuff like wings and croquetas.

This is definitely one of my favorite places to hang out –have a few drinks –socialize dance and eat. You get everything in one place and the service is amazing –the people are friendly. If you like to to watch sports they have that also. Oh and the Tapas menu. Yummy absolutely delicious

Good for before Red Bulls games. One of the only places within comfortable walking distance. Been here a number of times and will be returning. Quart of Sangria prices went up which stinks but its still better than the stadium prices. I would not, however, suggest ordering food unless you give yourself at least 1.5 hours before kickoff. The food is quite good but service always(tried it at least 4 times) gets overwhelmed with the pregame rush and has trouble turning tables in a reasonable time frame. All in all. Good place. Good Sangria. Food is good, but I’d stick to booze from the bar before the game.

I came here with a friend around 2 p.m. when there was an MLS game going on and the Brazilian Day festivities so it was a little busy but they weren’t packed. We sat outside because the day was beautiful. We ordered their red sangria which was great and their mac and cheese with ground beef and their garlic shrimp. The shrimp was deliciously spicy and the mac and cheese was rich and flavorful. I deducted a star for service. Although our original server was very nice, she wasn’t attentive and took an extremely long time to ask what we’d like to drink and an even longer time to take our order(we contemplated going to another spot after finishing our sangria pitcher). We never saw her after she took our order. Instead, a very pleasant gentleman came over and served us the remainder of our time. By that time, we were the only two patrons outside. There must have been some happening on Ferry Street. Good food though.

Been here twice, both on a Saturday night. Great place to party! Got VIP both times and we all had a blast. 2 bottles of our choice and a bottle of champagne for $ 350. And their hookahs are $ 30 which is NYC price but it hits really good so I don’t mind paying that either. Overall, a great place with great music and a beautiful crowd!

This is one of those places that are a cash cow with very little effort on behalf of the establishment. Due to their location and convenient proximity to Red Bull arena this place makes most of its money from the Soccer venue and Red Bull fans who stop in for a few drinks before the game. And for that purpose, this is a great spot! As far as food goes, now thats a different story. The food here is just very mediocre and tasteless, there is no other way to put it. There are plenty more options locally for good food, but if you want a convenient drink before a game this is your spot. This place knows they don’t have to put much more effort into anything they offer aside from serving alcohol and thats what works for them and kudo’s to them for it. So to recap; quick drink before the game GREAT! Want good food also, go ELSEWHERE!

I came here a couple of months back(in wintertime) and never had the chance to write a proper review(so my review is based on memory). I plan to return at which time I’ll write an updated review that’s more specific. A friend and I came here on a Thursday night because I had a Unilocal coupon. The outside looked a little sketchy which is a contrast to the inside. It’s a very nice place with a large bar, tv screens and they have a back section for dining. We chose to sit at a table near the bar. It was slow when we got there but by the time we left, it was rocking and crowded. Weekends are probably very crowded. We ordered a couple of beers and tapas. How can you go wrong? I remember that some of the tapas were great, some ok and maybe one or two duds. Like I said earlier, I ‘ll need to go back to give a more specific review on the tapas. But I did like the place enough to want to go back.

We ate dinner at the bar on a Thursday night at 7p. Except for an office party, the place was empty. We ordered chorizo, mussels and a seafood salad. All were fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the seafood salad. The owner came to check on us. Where is fell apart was the service. Our bartender/waitress got every single thing we ordered wrong. She was a complete flake, and mostly hung at the far end of the bar taking selfies on her phone. I guess I should’ve known when I told her we had a reservation and she smiled blankly and said, «Oh, where?» We tried to flag down another server, but no one was interested in helping us. In the end, they missed out on selling a bottle of wine and dessert simply because we couldn’t take it anymore. Bummer experience, maybe they’re true calling is a dance club.

Definitely a go to spot before a Red Bulls match. The place is buzzing with fans and the specials are pretty awesome. Got the patatas bravas and tried my friend’s cheesesteak. Both were great! Definitely wanna come for dinner one day.

This place was amazing! I went with a friend and the Unilocal deal made it the perfect price. We ordered five different tapas plates, and we were stuffed by the end. The food was amazing and the waitresses were super helpful to us if we had any questions about the menu. We also had the chocolate covered strawberries for dessert– perfect ending to a perfect meal. The ambience of the place was great! It reminded my friend of Parc Guell in Barcelona. Even the bathroom was gorgeous(curved walls and mosaic). I would recommend this place for a quick drink or a sit down dinner, great food and great ambience.

Got here around 10:15 on a Friday night and the place was decently packed. We came here for tapas but the dining room was closed and no tables were open. No one was at the front to help us so we are looking around for some help and decided to go to the back to find someone to help us. When we finally spotted someone who looked like he worked there he brought us to a table where someone else was already sitting but wasn’t eating and he asked them to get up. He then cleared the table and we sat down. Unfortunately the table was right near the door and it was below zero outside. They brought us the menu which was a paper menu backed on cardboard and It smelled like mildew. We place our order for red sangria, fried calamari, wings and something else. We originally wanted The dates wrapped in bacon but they were all out . The calamari was so chewy I felt like I was chewing on rubber bands. The wings were severely salty. The Only thing that was pleasing was Sangria. The second time around we got the andouille sausage the meatballs and some type of slider. One bite of these dishes and we were done! they were disgusting! the meatball tasted like bone marrow . We did not touch the second round of tapas at all and we called the waiter over and let him know that we were not pleased. he made it seem like he was understanding and was going to remove the those dishes from the tab. After that we did not see him for a full 30 minutes. Finally when we when we got a hold of him we were begging for the check because we were ready to leave. When the bill came nothing was removed and he rudely let us know nothing could be done. We ask for manager and when he came over after having a 10 minute conversation with him he finally took the dishes off the tab. We were disgusted at this point and just wanted to leave. There’s a club in the back and after that the manager started offering us drinks in the back we quickly declined he then came back and asked us if we wanted another pitcher of sangria… we also declined that. He made it seem like he was trying to figure out if we were just trying to get items for free. We let him know that we were a hour train ride away and we came for the Unilocal reviews and the deal which we quickly find out they do not honor. After that he was apologetic and realized it was too late to make it up to us. Will never come back here. So many other places to try.

If you’re going to a Red Bulls game, Catas is definitely a must-stop before and after the game. What better way to pregame than with $ 10 yuengling pitchers(seriously…for the price of 1 beer at the stadium, you get a whole pitcher). Definitely wear white and red on gameday, as this place will be PACKED with Red Bulls fans. Enjoy the beer, fist pump a little as they’ll have the DJ blasting out house and hip hop, and then march over to the stadium with everyone 25 mins before the game. Fun way to spend a Sat or Sun afternoon!(oh and it doesn’t hurt that the bartenders are very easy on the eyes!) Protip: if you order a flaming sambuca shot and the flame is over a foot high… you will most likely get burned no matter what, so at least take a pic before that happens.

The American Outlaws chose this as one of their bars prior to the USA vs Turkey soccer game on June 1st. Post-game we were looking for a place to eat and settled on Catas since there weren’t that many people compared to other bars nearby. I was really hoping to try some tapas, but instead, we were handed a set menu. I ordered the chorizo burger, and I was disappointed. Being from Texas, when I think of chorizo, I think of ground meat that is spicy. Instead, the meat was actual pieces of sausage, and it’s hard to eat a sausage burger because the sausage kept falling out of the bun. It was not what I wanted. At all. Friends ordered burgers, and at least 2 – 3 people at the table stated the beef didn’t taste right. Based on the burgers alone, I would’ve given two stars. However, the fries were absolutely delicious. They were crispy and had a spice to them. I also ordered the sangria for $ 8 or $ 10, and it came in a liter form. I had to share the sangria because I couldn’t drink it all! I added back a star for the fries and sangria. I would be willing to try this place if they have tapas available!
