This review if for the Taqueria in the Carter Station Market Santa Fe Mercado Carniceria. Dropped in here to check out the Taqueria, it was a small place, but WOW do they ever pack in the meat when you order. I can see why the locals have not said much about the place, don’t want to crowd it with looky loos. When we walked in, they were just adding some freshly made chicharrones, and making more! GOOD: Carne Asada Tacos — they reheated the meat making it a little over cooked, BUT it was still good. They gave a ton of meat, could barely see the tortilla underneath. This for only $ 0.99 each — that is a deal! Will drive a little further then Chavez Meat Market /Arteagas, and Tortilla Factory for such a deal. GREAT: Carnitas Burrito — the meat was torn straight from the chuck of pork that was pre-cooked and hand shredded directly into the burrito. Leaving large pieces of meat still intact and not finely shredded. Once again TONS of pork, yum! The ratio of pork to rice and beans was, 2⁄3 pork the rest filler(rice, beans, salsa, onion, cilantro). It was so large that the tortilla was barely able to wrap closed. This was offered for $ 4.99 They offer a Breakfast Burrito for $ 2.49 if you get there before 11am daily. If it is half of the«regular» burrito that we got, then its an awesome deal. Who are we kidding its a deal anyways.
