Awesome place! Super clean room, really nice staff, and the town is just a great place to relax and stroll around. The hotel included a nice(free) continental breakfast that you ordered and had delivered to your room, which was a great way to start the morning. Instead of an uncomfortable, cold lobby with squirt coffee and tiny cereal boxes I sat on my porch with the baby and fresh banana slices and my own pot of coffee out of a cup! It was a great experience overall and did I almost forget the beds?!? They’re like clouds.

We stayed in The Riverview Hotel from November 13 till Tuesday November 172015. Hotel is comfortable but overpriced. We paid 200 dollars per night. A more appropriate name for the hotel would be The Bridgeview hotel(see picture taken from our balcony). Not much river to be seen from the hotel as it is situated very close to an immense bridge spanning the river. Which by the way is noisy(cars driving over it and when opened to let bigger boats pass) Continental breakfast is very basic and additional charges apply for a limited selection of additions. The rooms are very noisy and we could hear the people in the room next to ours cough, speak and snore as if they were in our own room. When in the lobby I overheard a staff member offer prices on the phone of less than a 100 dollars for week nights and 140 for weekend nights, So please call if you want to stay here to negotiate your rates!

Lovely room. Very clean. Nice wine reception Friday and Saturday nights. My only complaint is that our particular room was noisy with opening and closing of doors throughout the night. Our room was rather small compared to the others. Balcony is not completely private. Overall I thought the rooms are overpriced for what you get. In room breakfast is just okay. Lousy coffee. Could do better is this area. Great fresh chocolate chip cookies. Friendly professional staff. Free bike rentals. Would come back only with a better deal. Should have checked in with Unilocal for a free bottle of wine.

I have to say, the Riverview Hotel at New Smyrna Beach was one of the most delightful hotels that I have stayed in in the US. Not the best, but just everything about it was delightful! Situated 9 minutes walk from the beach(as there were plenty of bars, it took us quite a bit longer). The hotel is on an inland waterway, with great views looking south(ignore the bridge, which is right next to the hotel on the right). With a water taxi stop. This is good if you want to explore the inland waterways. It’s a colonial looking building, built in the 1860’s. Each of the rooms have an individual design. When we arrived the receptionsit was really enthusiastic and made us feel most welcome. The room was tasteful and cosy with a 47 inch smart LED television. There is also free wifi here. When I checked in on Unilocal, it showed an offer, saying free wine set up. IU asked the receptionist what this mean. She said, as I checked in using Unilocal, I would get a free $ 25 bottle of wine. I could either have it then, or delivered to my room during the bed turndown(5pm, the turn the beds down, place folded robes on the bed and chocolates). I opted for the delivery option. Fellow UnilocalERS, it’s always worth checking in, you never know what offer you might get! The hotel has a nice comp[act swimming pool with cabana rooms that lead out directly to the pool area. They also have a spa. Continental breakfast is also included, which is delivered to your room. Our room has a small terrace, so we could have sat outside to enjoy breakfast. I really did not expect this hotel to be as good as it was for the price. I would definately come back, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the riverview for our wedding anniversary and I cannot make a single negative comment. From the super friendly and attentive desk staff to the the gorgeous and clean room everything was great. This hotel is very warm and welcoming with a nice twist of quirky historic charm. Beautiful room with Victorian décor and an extremely comfortable bed. The free wine setup promotion that was being offered for checking in on Unilocal was delivered when they saw us leave for dinner and was a wonderful welcome back to the room. Complimentary breakfast delivered to the room is a huge plus. I would not hesitate to recommend the Riverview hotel for anyone in central Florida looking for a romantic getaway weekend. More hotels should be run this way!

Stayed two night at the Riverview for my boyfriends and my anniversary and had nothing but the best to remember. We booked literary the day of after finding a great deal for a getaway on groupon. We were so thrilled to be upgraded to a suite and walked right in to our romantic getaway. We loved the accommodations, friendly staff, and nuances of the vintage charm and ocean side comfort. We enjoyed appetizers and wine at the Riverview Grille and enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast. Our room was nautical in theme on the third floor with a balcony viewing the water front. One short walk away from the quaint shops, restaurants, and the beach we enjoyed our escape in New Smyrna Beach. The pool area was tranquil, and we also made use of our two complimentary spa passes to the Riverview spa to enjoy the mineral pools. We definitely enjoyed our stay and hope to return for another memorable experience.

All the quaintness of a bed-and-breakfast packages in an historic hotel. The rooms are adorable, comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The pool was warm and delightful with a beautiful setting for lounging. The hotel is situated at the bridge entrance on the river side… just a quick three block walk to the beach. We were surprisingly impressed with the restaurant next-door and had an overall wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

What a charming little hotel by the beach! We actually checked in after midnight due to the Daytona 500 delay and subsequent 11pm finish. The front desk staff was very accommodating to us and got us checked in quickly. The hotel is more like a B&B with much attention to individuality for each room. Our room of two doubles was quite pretty and had all the amenities of a large chain operation. The free basic continental breakfast of assorted cereals, fruits, coffee/juice milk was elevated simply by being delivered to our room on a well-appointed tray. There was also a local newspaper under our door in the morning. Very nice touch! The bedding was spectacular and comfy and the room was clean. The bath amenities were of high quality and the shower had excellent pressure! That’s a big plus in my book! I heard nothing from the restaurant, as previous reviewers noted. It was exceptionally peaceful and the staff was friendly. I will definitely give them my business again the next time I am in the area!

I recently stayed with 2 girlfriends for a spa beach get-away for 2 nights. The Inn was great. Super friendly staff, adorable rooms, clean, and quaint. Daily continental breakfast delivered to your room. Take a bike for free and ride down to the beach!

Awful experience. The restaurant attached is loud at 3:00 am and the front desk man is so rude. We will never be back. I stay in hotels 2 – 5 days a week for work and this was by far the most unprofessional experience.

My wife and I stated here for 2 nights on March 19 and 20th. We had found out about this hotel through Groupon — the regular nightly rate for the room we had is $ 189.00. The hotel is located directly next to the ICW but also next to a very busy street/highway. It is a charming, over 100 year old hotel but with some drawbacks. Our room was relatively small, the bathroom very basic. There was no ability to adjust the room temperature and during our last night someone must have turned on the heating because it became unbearably hot. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker in our room but you can get coffee in the reception area or they deliver a free, very basic, breakfast to your room. Our mattress was absolutely uncomfortable and the pillows are also in need of serious replacement. My wife commented that the bedspread needed replacing also because it was very dirty with numerous stains. On the plus side, we had a very lovely balcony which we sat on and enjoyed every night and morning watching the world going by. The room and the hotel were quiet although parking sometimes became a bit of an issue if the restaurant was filling up. Overall, we enjoyed it but if we had to pay full price we would not stay there.
