Everything was absolutely wonderful. From very attentive staff, elegant décor to great food. It was 9 of us, each and every dish was tasty, from appetizer to dessert… octopus salad was tender and tasty, the best that I ever had, beet salad was great, grilled vegetables flavorful, grilled shrimp tasty. Grilled calamari were tender and flavorful, filet mignon just the way that was ordered, great flavor in porc chops, veal stew and chicken soup, and rolled chicken breast. Branzino fish was cooked just right with the right touch of seasoning, best fish that I had in a long time. I felt like I was in Dalmatia… Deserts, we’re just what we expected good home made tastes of good old country .the décor was nice, comfy, elegant and warm. An inviting place with great people and a great owner… Our first time in this place was one to remember. we will definitely be back and hopefully enjoy the beautiful garden

Pleasantly surprised this downtown new ro resto was so good. Great selection of fin fish, fresh and perfectly prepared. We enjoyed salmon, branzino and the black bass was exceptional! Salads were also very good and fresh and if I noticed correctly some plantings in the backyard will yield veritable farm to table! The service was very good, friendly and very accomodating A great find and we hope to return soon.

I took my family out for a lunch today and I must say the food and service was outstanding. The inside is very spacious with an amazing atmosphere. Keep it up!

Ever have Croatian cuisine? I hadn’t either and was blown away when I came to Dubrovnik. Friendly staff and superior quality food. Do yourself a favor and come here for a special night out. The outdoor seating is a must in the summer time but tough to get so call ahead!

The space was pretty and inviting. The restaurant was lively. The staff were attentive and earnest. The hostess and owner checked on our table during the meal. Cocktails were very good and we drank some reasonably priced Justin Cabernet Sauvignon. We were started off with some very good warm bread. Starters were pretty good. Most of the table went for the specialty salad, which was marinated artichokes, peppers, arugula, etc. I tried the mixed seafood appetizer for a change of pace. the oysters were excellent. The monkfish carpaccio was OK. The smoked tuna was smoked so well that it was hard to tell that it was tuna. Main dishes were less exciting. We all ordered some variety of seafood. I had the filet of Bronzino. It was one of the few times that I haven’t finished an entrée in a restaurant. It just didn’t do it for me. The Swiss Chard and potatoes tasted really salty to me. My table mates enjoyed their main courses more than I did. Maybe I was just having an off night. The waitstaff had trouble identifying where the appetizers and main courses were supposed to go, but they all got to the right place eventually. We split some crepes and a very whipped cream heavy dessert. The people who ate them liked the crepes very much. Decaffeinated cappuccino was OK. Overall, a very nice space with pleasant staff. The food was OK. I would give this place another shot and try to order differently next time.

Dalmation platter, anchovies, lamb chops, tuna, branzino and crepes all wonderful. Physical plant is attractive and the energy level is high. Unfortunately, you shouldn’t have to wait 45 minutes to be seated when you have a reservation. In fairness, the hostess seemed empathetic and wanted to make things right with complementary food/drink. But, we waited 45 minutes nonetheless. Perhaps go early or late. But not at prime time.

I was with my family at Dubrovnik and we all enjoyed the experience. The staff was very friendly and professional. the food was great especially if you like sea food, very fresh and wonderfully cooked. they had a wide selection of Croatian wines and the waitress(a Croatian girl) was very helpful and informative. Also at the bar they make great cocktails i had a drink called Blue Adriatik was amazing and beautiful to look at just like the sea. Overall an awesome experience i would definitely go back and recommend it.

In a day in age where equally is the norm this place is set back in the 50’s, they clearly are not accepting to all. In the two times I was there not only were we ushered downstairs because we were told that the basement was better than the empty room upstairs but we were also told that there’s no need for us to look at the fancy tray display that others are presented with at their table because it’s all on the menu. I don’t go to restaurants for special treatment but at the least I expect fair treatment. As a latin man who supports many local restaurants frequently, I will clearly not support this one.

My husband and I went there for dinner a month ago. I had made reservations for 6pm on a Saturday. When we got there the hostess looked us up and down(not a nice feeling) and decided to seat us in the wine cellar downstairs(I guess we weren’t main floor appropriate since we were 2 men) even though it was fairly empty(plenty of open tables) upstairs on the main floor. When we got downstairs there were only 2 other tables that a had diners eating and they put us right next to another gay couple, and when I say next to, I mean that our tables we so close that we could have eaten off each other’s dishes, meanwhile the rest of the room was empty. A little buffer room would have been nice. I’ll never understand why we were ushered down there. Couldn’t help feeling segregated. The food was really tasty and the service was quick but to be treated like that initially left a bad taste in our mouths. Everyone should be treated fairly, especially if you want return business.

I came here with my husband and mom for restaurant week a few years ago having heard how wonderful the reviews were. We ordered off of the special menu as suggested by the waiter. The food was inedible. Other tables around us complained as well and the management did nothing about it. It was a most horrid experience, we had to pay for the disgusting food, but we have never been back. I do not understand how this place can still be around and get such rave reviews. It is beyond my imagination! Please do not waste your money or your time on this place.

Had the last dinner in 2015 at this place. We sat downstairs and it was ok. I might try sitting on upper stairs next time. They offer a variety of drink choices. I ordered dessert wine, which every liter of it costs 20kg dried grapes. It is very sweet and I love it. For appetizer we ordered grilled squid as many reviews recommend and risotto in ink, which we are a big fan of it still we just order at this place to try-we were not disappointed. For main course, I have the seafood plate with on top of linguine, which tastes fresh but too raw for me, especially the mussels. My boyfriend ordered a whole tail of fish-he just loves it! We ordered the traditional flavored crepes for dessert. It has both sweet and sour taste in it, which is nice. Generally recommend you to this place. It is definitely a great restaurant worth trying in New Rochelle neighborhood.

I was extremely doubtful that New Rochelle has a Croatian restaurant. My initial response was, «Croatian food? Really?» Let alone, one that focuses on seafood. Mr Man’s aunt treated us out to dinner. And as we drove from White Plains and into the very desolate streets of Main – I really began to observe my surroundings. Again, still dazed and confused, and not knowing what to expect from a Croatian restaurant in a very non-discreet, mixed bag location. At any rate, as we drove up, my gloomy outlook, partially brighten. My rationale was,“if it looks this decent, I sure hope that dinner counterbalances the esthetics of Dubrovnik”. We were immediately acknowledged and soon after, sat. Dubrovnik is a comfortable spot– it’s not a large restaurant by any means, but does have plenty of seating. Interior is cute and well kept. The menu items are all defined and clear. Cocktails are definitely pretty potent. I must admit that, although service was great., i.e., my water was never empty, prompt attention from our servers and perfect spacing of cocktails and appetizers and dinner, I feel that the chef/cook did not poured his heart into my food or my family’s. My Branzino, though delicious, and tomato sauce was delicate in taste,(just the way I like it) was sloppy. My fish and spinach polenta were either sprayed, painted and probably submerged in sauce. All components were very delicious, but the amount of the sauce–(for me) ruined the style of my fish. With all this said, Dubrovnik is really a charming restaurant. There are more items such as their lamb, chicken and other fish dishes on their menu that I would like to explore.

Wow! First let me say, Drenka, our waitress was sweet as could be! Second, this was one of our favorite meals out! We had the grilled calamari. So good!(Though next time we’re gonna switch it up and have the grilled octopus!) Then we shared the grilled seafood assortment platter in white wine AND the scallops in a creamy tomato sauce over fresh linguine. Yes! Yes! and Yes! But save room for the desserts. Drenka gave us the heads-up that they’re all made fresh daily. Can’t wait to go back!

I will not be entering the doors at Dubrovnik again. Their online menu and pricing is very deceiving and the customer service received by Matja was truly disappointing. The truth of the matter is that we were overcharged as a family, and rather than calling a manager to work out the issue, Matja was sent over with his rude attitude. You can find great food, along with great service, elsewhere.

Such a great place! This was not only my first time here, but my first time eating Croatian food. The service was wonderful! The servers were nice and very funny. The dishes were great, everyone loved what they ordered. The staff was able to tailor the dishes to our liking, creating a family style appetizer per our request. The grilled octopus and calamari was out of this world! The linguini with seafood was delicious as well. The server suggested the White House wine home made in Croatia by the owners family — the wine was delicious with a hint of peach. I would most definitely suggest and do plan on returning.

Unique find! Food and service from the handsome Mladen was superb! 11 of us dined in the beautiful, but chilly, private dining room for my birthday. The restaurant put pretty spring flowers and candles to decorate. First the wine, omg delicious. Cut it with a knife but still lots of berries and rich in tannins(Babic $ 48). I had the Cuddlefish Risotto. Huge portion for $ 11.75 and tasted amazing! Black squid ink was refreshing and the whole dish was surprisingly sweet, not fishy. As an entrée I had the linguine shellfish with white wine($ 39.75). Again, humongous portion with a bunch of myself, clams, shrimp and half of a huge lobster! For dessert, I had my rare-to – find Poached Pear($ 9.00). Again, prefect. They served 2 big platters of fresh fruit with dessert too! Not only will we be returning, but we are telling our friends, too! Thank you for making my birthday so special!

What a great find. More than a 60 minute ride from home, the little gem in New Rochelle, NY brings more than s little bit of Croatia to all comers. Croatian cuisine is listed often as Northern Italian, Eastern European and Mediterranean. Here at Dubrovnik the creations are genuinely unique and definitely Croatian. The staff is engaging, attentive, informative and wear a welcoming smile. Try it. You’ll like it. Or more likely love it. Valet is available curbside for lunch and dinner.
