TERRIBLE! Do NOT engr from them. Had the ac unit leaking water and it took them 5 days to reply. Carpet was bad and stinky from the day we moved in. The house was terribly dirty and we cleaned it better when we moved out and only got a letter saying who to contact regarding our security deposit. When we called they saps a check had been mailed out on the 18th, but that was a lie, the letter was mailed on the 21st and didn’t even state if they kept our depisit or not. They rarely skated the phone and never returned calls.

I will be forever angry about my nightmarish experience with APM. Smoke filled apts, over priced and false charges to account.

Decent with maintenance responses. But only if you use their internet portal. If you call their office with any request, forget it. You’ll end up calling multiple times and talking to multiple people who don’t know anything about the situation, and you’ll have to explain it repetitively. The week before I moved out, I called to ask about where to leave the keys. Her response was«Did you submit a notice to leave?» Yes, I did — 2 months prior, online so it was in writing. Clearly didn’t translate to their office though. DOEVERYTHINGONLINESOIT’S INWRITING. Even though their checkout list includes making sure the utility company has your new address to send the last bill, they’ll assume you didn’t pay it, so they’ll take it out of your security deposit. Save the hassle — don’t pay it. I paid the utility company, then got my security deposit back minus the utility bill. I called the utilities company, and they said they had not received the payment from Applegate! So they charged me, but hadn’t even paid it! It’s then«your responsibility» to submit in writing proof to Applegate that you paid it. Save yourself the stress. Oh and don’t bother cleaning your apartment when you leave. Even if you spend a week deep cleaning everything(including taking apart the dryer and vacuuming the lint out), they’ll still charge you for«cleaning fees.» And forget fighting it — the manager is conveniently«not available» when you call.
