Visited on a trip to the Gunks as part of an adaptive climbing group sponsored by Paradox Sports. This location was the«plan B» fallback that was forced on us by rain for one of the two days… Any climbing is better than no climbing, and the owners were very good about opening up early for us and otherwise being accomodating, but the facility has a lot of limitations. It is a small gym, and they make good use of the available space, but… 1. The walls are only 20′ — you barely get started before you top out — though I did 4 climbs for 80′ instead of the usual single 50′ wall I do at BKBS, my usual gym… 2. The bathroom is NOT wheelchair accessible /ADA compliant — I was able to deal for my needs, but it caused problems for several others in our group of adaptive(handicapped) climbers… 3. The very thick and soft pads under the climbing area were barely passable when pushing a wheelchair, and had no access other than to hop a very high wooden ledge.(I had to harness up on the edge of the mats and be carried to the walls…) Given the hospitality of the management, and they did try, I hate to only give 3 stars, but given the poor accessibility I can’t really go higher. Bottom line — Only a few minutes from REAL rocks in the Gunks, one of the East Coast climbing mecca’s, and real rocks are more fun. However they do the best they can within the limitations of the space they are in, and it will let you get your climb on when the weather doesn’t let you hit the real rocks.

My friend and I went here for our first rock climbing experience ever, and we had a good time. We got a day pass for belaying, rented equipment, and had a belay orientation(lesson) for a(student) price of $ 32. Our instructor, Jenny, was an excellent teacher — thorough and clear in her explanations, patient, and helpful even after our lesson. When she left us, we were confident in our abilities and had a good time trying things out. We were satisfied with the entire experience!

Stopped inside with 2 other climbers. We were disappointed it was raining and there was nothing really dry to tackle in the Gunks outside. We looked around, checked the price, and decided to go to Gravity Vault instead. The walls are not very high and we figured it was not worth paying more than 10 $ for routes that only have maybe 4 or 5 moves, lol.

If not outside, I’d climb here! Good facility and great customer service. Thanks Jarron for passing on the climbing knowledge!
