We were a group of three of varying rock-​climbing experience (mostly beginner to low-​level intermediate) and Silas was able to give each of us individual attention, challenges appropriate for our differing degrees of comfort and ability and was a knowledgeable, friendly and — frankly — very entertaining guide!
Silas arrived with all the equipment we needed (except shoes which were easy enough to rent) and the pre-​trip organization made us feel very well prepared upon arrival. His attention to safety and preparedness was crucial for my own personal comfort level.
We had a great day in the Gunks on different routes that Silas hand-​picked for us and even came together as a group to tackle a 3-​pitch path up to the top of «Madame G’s.»
Overall, we had a really wonderful experience … highly recommended!

I hired Silas for a day of private ice climbing, along with a good friend. We had a fantastic day in the mountains! Silas is incredibly experienced and skilled, always emphasizing safety, and he provided a set of objectives that challenged us. Unlike some of the other climbing I’ve done in the Catskills, where we set up a top rope to climb some ice alongside the roadway, Silas put together a full day of adventure, with lots of smaller and more ambitious objectives along the way. I look forward to climbing with him and Alpine Logic again.
