Not a bad stay for the price, my wife liked the mattress firm as all heck, so if you don’t mind a firm mattress this place is for you. The breakfast thing is really nothing to write home about not like the other chains that offer warm food such as eggs and bacon you basically get whatever comes out of a box. The rooms are fairly quiet the service was pretty good, overall not a bad deal.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn in New Paltz. This used to by a Super 8 motel. Room 112 is very damp and mildewy. Additionally, the vending machines are very close to room 112 and the motors from those machines could be heard from that room, which was quite annoying. If you are assigned a room at the end of the hallway, near room 101 or 102, you can smell cigarette smoke, even though these are non-smoking rooms. Apparently, there is an exit door nearby, outside of which people habitually smoke, and the smoky smell permeates the entire hallway. Regarding the bathroom in our room, there was dirt in the bathtub area, which was pretty disgusting. Additionally, quite a bit of water leaked out of the bathtub faucet after engaging the shower mode. Finally, regarding the bathroom, the washcloth that they furnished was rather dirty. Regarding the vending machines, the vending machines on the first floor are really out-of-date and don’t work properly. Two different machines failed to deliver the product requested. One machine had an outdated product. I tried to purchase Dasani water via one of the other machines and nothing happened. There was no indication that Dasani was not available. Additionally, the juice machine was mislabeled, as I request a kiwi/strawberry Snapple and received a can of Welch’s kiwi/strawberry. So, if you are looking for a place to stay in New Paltz, you should really steer clear of the Americas Best Value Inn, as this place is rather disgusting!

Little sister and I Stayed one night while she went on a med school interview nearby. Arrived at 10pm to a warm and friendly clerk at the desk. Complimentary breakfast in the am, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, cookies, OJ and waffles. Lovely spacious eating area. Room was clean, comfortable and the microwave was a plus. Only disappointment was the«fitness center», which is more of a fitness room– 1 treadmill, one stationary bike, one incline bench and free weights(bar bells). But it worked, it got the job done and my morning workout was complete. Also asked for an extended check out time and they agreed. Overall cute place, would stay here again, would recommend the stay to anyone.

I’m not sure what people expect for $ 100/night, but our room was clean, smelled fine, had the basic amenities, and the front desk staff were very friendly. They even offered to give us directions«around» downtown so we didn’t need to sit in the awful Main St. New Paltz crawl. The continental breakfast wasn’t great but it did the job. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.

«Rude Staff, nasty smell, dirty bed sheets — should be 1 star» My wife and I came to stay in New Paltz for 4 days — meeting up with relatives and a few friends who stayed in a different hotel but there was no more rooms there. We are from Brooklyn so I thought we’ve seen everything but this place is something else. We came in 15 minutes to 3pm and the check-in was at 3pm. We were told to wait until 3pm. Maybe 20 minutes after 3pm the room was ready and the room is absolutely horrific. Non-smoking room but the smell is so bad I had concerns that we will not be able to sleep. The smell mostly seems like very sour like old carpet and mold. The room has TV and microwave but everything is very outdated. The pillows had someone’s hair… After room services wet towels were still left on the floor although new ones were brought in and bed cover was forgotten from prior night even though the bed was made. I called the front desk and some guy Joe told me he doesn’t know anything and he is not responsible for anything — call back at later time, when I told him about poor service he asked«do you need towels or something?» when I explained I just want better service because I am staying for another day I need my room cleaned properly he was sarcastic and slurred out«Yes Sr., will be done Sr.» laughing in the background and hang-up the phone. I hate this place, it was suppose to be a vacation after very long hardworking few month this place was hell. Do not make a mistake and book this to save money its not worth it. pay a few bucks more and travel a few miles more if necessary but don’t stay here…
