I have made a point of visiting The Silo every year. This little gem of a kitchen store and cooking school is tucked away up a winding road in the Northwestern CT hills. You will find nearly any kitchen gadget worth having, including some you didnt realize you needed(today’s find: potato ricer). The front silo is full of quirky toys, or ornaments during the holiday season. The upper floor houses the cooking school with professional kitchen. On my visit today, the mell of gingerbread was intoxicating, and the sounds of kids energetic glee as they decorated gingerbread houses could warm the heart of even the Grinch. The large upstairs room was full of unique artwork including glassworks, paintings, photography, artistic baskets and textiles. This is such a great place to find a gift for the foodie in your life, and a great place to help instill and appreciation of food in the little ones.
