Went here for a casual dinner with friends and liked the atmosphere and food. Great service and nice waitress. Friend liked the burger a lot along with the Parmesan truffle fries. Had the orecchiette pasta which is a pretty sizeable portion. Another person in our party had this bourbon-demiglazed chicken special which was a bit dry but otherwise had good flavor. Overall good dinner experience and will probably return!

Very nice little gastropub. Good beer selection, I’d go with the Lion Stout. Diverse menu with daily specials and a large parking lot. I brought my fancy, fussy sister here and next time she’s in town, she wants to go back.

I don’t know where to even begin!!! I wish I lived closer to The Pike; I’d quickly become a regular. Upon entering, you are GREETED by a hostess. On both my occasions here our waitress was Joanna. If you get her expect nothing but friendliness, professionalism, and warmth. She really is such a sweetheart and goes out of her way to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The same goes for the owner, Peter. I must also give credit to the rest of the staff there. The empty dishes are taken away but not without checking with us to make sure we’re done, our water glasses are always full with ice cold water, and overall demeanor of everyone makes the environment so welcoming. My first time coming here was such a great experience. Food and ambiance was perfect. I was having a late dinner with my husband, my baby girl, and 2 girlfriends. After we ordered our food, we received warm pita chips and house-made hummus. It was yummy… so yummy in fact that we asked for seconds! We have no shame lol. The owner happened to be having dinner with his family as well to the right of us. He came over to ask us how the food was and everything and noticed that my baby was eating the hummus. He went ahead and brought out hummus and pita chips for us to take home for her! I thought that was so kind of him. My latest visit here was for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I came with 2 girlfriends and my baby girl. After we ordered our food they brought out corn muffins and scones. I love corn muffins… and usually at restaurants(esp if the muffin is just a freebie like bread) they are dry and crumbly but these were good! They were moist little muffins. We got our food in a timely fashion. My chicken and waffles(DEEELISH!) came with a strawberry garnish and I gave that to my baby to eat. Joanna came by to check on us and saw my little one enjoying the strawberry and offered to bring a few more strawberries over! It was such a simple but sweet gesture. I’m sure those few strawberries didn’t cost much but they really left an impression on me. Which is why I’m here telling you to stop checking reviews on The Pike and just GO :)

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago. Cute and cozy inside. Very welcoming. We were seated right away and we ordered the mac & cheese as a starter. One of the best I’ve had. Super creamy and delicious. Couldn’t get enough. I had the fish tacos as my entrée. I liked the flavor, however the taco became soggy from the Cole slaw. Not sure why it was so watery. Maybe next time they can put it on the side so I could at least remove the liquid. I suggest frying the fish as well. But grilled of course is healthier. My friend had the turkey burger which she enjoyed as well. I didn’t taste it though but I take her word for it. We also got the truffle fries with our meals and they were extra crispy just how I liked them. Defining would come back to try the other foods. I took off one star because the food took forever to come and there weren’t that many people there for lunch, it was a weekday.

7 months in and owner Peter is as passionate of his business as he was when it opened. Three of us went on Friday night for dinner and we had a great time. For cocktails we had one Delerium Belgium beer and a couple of The Pike Beers. According to Peter, they will have Delerium on tap shortly along with other IPA’s. Sunny, our server brought us gratis Hummus with pita right away to ward off the hunger. We were so impressed with the appys we got last time we got them again. Short Rib Spring Rolls w/incredible dipping sauce… outstanding! Also got the Buffalo Wings… meaty large size wings that were juicy and delicious… were a treat. Now that we were practically stuffed we ordered entre’s: One Bleu Cheese Burger rare One cheddar burger with bacon Special seared Tuna with Wasabi mashed potatoes. We all enjoyed our meals and the conversations with Peter regarding his preparation and quality of his ingredients. The Pike is a winner and a great choice for food and drink!

Fiancé and I came here on a Saturday night without reservations and were seated quickly. It’s a very small restaurant with a bar. A lot of older folks here. Food — we ordered apps — Thai wings and calamari it was good, didn’t care for the white sauce that came with the calamari . Drinks– red wine and mojito . We ordered drinks before being seated at a table and at the end of our meal the waitress forgot to include the drinks we ordered from the bar. We told her and she adjusted the bill to include the drinks. Overall food was ok. Nice go to place in the neighborhood. We would return to try the brunch.

First time at the pike. It’s conveniently located so I decided to drop in. I was immediately greeted as I entered which I love. Today they had specials on salads which are usually $ 14 but were $ 12 today with the grilled chicken. Sadly my taste buds were not craving a salad as a main. I decided to go with the turkey burger with avocado relish on a brioche bun. The burger of course comes with a side of fries/salad. I opted from the fries as hard as that was and went with the salad. I don’t prefer my salad already dressed but it was paired with a balsamic vinaigrette which was good. I was disappointed by the burger. I think the patty needed a little more flavor and maybe well done. I would return though because I’m a firm believer in second chances. I will give an A+ for their expedient service and friendliness. Price ranges from $ 10 – 25 if purchasing drinks

The food was very good. I went for brunch. We started off with a scone and muffins. The brunch includes either mimosa, Bloody Mary, and sangria. I had the mimosa. For $ 5 more you can make it a boozy brunch. I had a three egg omelet with as many of the toppings that were offered. The omelet was great and I chose to have tater tots with them. The service was great and I liked the ambience.

The Pike is a casual, American(New) restaurant that recently opened on Union Turnpike in New Hyde Park. We choose to check this place out on a dreary Sunday afternoon in April. The first thing I noticed when I entered the restaurant were walls of white subway tiles that somehow brightened my mood. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated us promptly in the austere dining room. I mean that to be a compliment; I rather liked the unfussy feeling of the room. The brunch menu appealed to me because it featured both breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the maple grilled salmon with scrambled eggs and goat cheese and a garden salad. My date ordered the breakfast platter with 3 eggs over easy, tater tots, bacon, sausage and toast. Each entrée was 20USD and also came with coffee, tea or juice, a plate of yummy scones and muffins and a brunch cocktail. Whew! that’s a lot of food! And it was all delicious! I loved the salmon that I was served and couldn’t believe how large it was! We sipped our Bloody Mary’s, read the Sunday funny papers and left feeling a whole lot sunnier than before. Yay! I’m a fan!

Came here for brunch today, will definitely go back. Service was top notch and ambiance was welcoming. For $ 20, you get muffins and scones(yum!!!) for the table, unlimited coffee or tea, brunch cocktail(the white wine sangria was delicious) and an entrée. We ordered eggs benny, chicken and waffles and the burger. All the food was really good. This is my new go to spot for Sunday brunch, can’t wait to go back.

I really love this place. I’ve been there for lunch and dinner and both times just had the nicest time. Brunch had unlimited cocktails including a delicious white sangria and definitely more than the regular eggs. I had the shrimp and grits and they were so yummy. Dinner has a great pre fix menu with such generous portions I was able to have some for lunch the next day. Muscles, steak and bread pudding all for $ 25? Can’t beat that. Not just reasonably priced, but very tasty. Great food isn’t not so good without great service. And maybe it’s because it’s still a fairly new restaurant but everyone there was so nice. Both times either the manager or owner has come to great us. And the staff was friendly and quick to smile. Definitely recommend.

Came for brunch and it was great. The staff is beyond friendly. Our waitress Britney was very attentive. We had the bottomless brunch and she kept our drinks coming. The food… ahhhh the food was great. I had the maple grill salmon and it was so moist and delicious. Usually brunch portions are small but not here. We actually left full which is rare with brunch. Can’t wait to try dinner here. It’s also a great place for families, it’s quiet and very family friendly.

Came here for brunch for the first time with a group of friends and wasn’t disappointed! This is the perfect location if you’re looking for more of a casual spot with great food that is decently priced. For $ 20, you can get one brunch entrée, a complimentary plate of muffins and scones, one cocktail(bloody mary, mimosa, screwdriver, or white wine sangria) and coffee, tea, soda, or juice. For an additional $ 5, you can make your drinks bottomless, and really, what’s brunch if you don’t do bottomless cocktails? I tried both the mimosa and white wine sangria, which were both strong and had a great taste. Our waitress was very attentive and brought us over refills once she saw that we were running low. For my entrée I got the Eggs«Benny» and I couldn’t have been more pleased. The hollandaise sauce was to die for and everything was served over smashed tater tots, which was an added plus. I would definitely recommend trying this place out for brunch or even coming for happy hour, which they have during the week from 3pm-7pm.

Updating my review from last time. They have expanded their beer selection. Added what appears to be an awesome bottomless brunch and a prix fixe on Sunday’s. Hanger steak was great. Keep up the good work and post more pics on FB! Ps the staff were super nice and attentive!

What a find! I was with my mom and aunt looking for a restaurant when I stumbled upon the Pike on Unilocal. The pictures looked good and I liked the décor. It was early on a Sunday and they have a great deal, for $ 24.95 you get a 3 course meal. All of the choices looked amazing but I chose the mussels with chorizo as an appetizer, brick chicken for my entrée and since there were three of us and three dessert options we shared them all(lucky!). The service was great and Danny(the Manager) and Peter(I believe one of the owners?) came and spoke with us. Not only did they chat but they spoke with us for a long time which was nice. To share more on the food, the mussels were PEI mussels with chorizo and boy were they delicious! My oh my was this portion huge! I enjoyed every bite and barely had room for my entrée. The mussels were very fresh. The brick chicken was quite delicious. I will say it was crispy, yet I would have liked it if it was a bit more moist and juicy. The string beans were nice and the mashed potatoes were very fine. I would have liked it if they were a little creamier but they were still good. The dessert though. Oh wow was it delicious! The bread pudding was great and the ravioli smores were awesome! I’ve never had that before. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it for the service, food, atmosphere and prices.

We came in here after waiting for it to open! Like always i check open table and they do reservations through them great! Parking on the street worked fine for us it was great lots of ample parking! We were seated right away when we arrived. Loved the tile look on the inside. The bar looked beautfiul. With clean white After we ordered this beautiful homemade hummus appeared with warm pita delicious! For appetizer we ordered the pretzel sticks. So delicious and has to be homemade! Such a tease to get 2! My bf ordered the burger which was cooked to perfectionand super juicy! We ordered the skillet mac and cheese to share and frankly i think i shouldve ordered one for each of us so delicious!!! I was feeling chilly that day so i ordered tomato soup with these grilled cheese coutons on the inside. Really neat concept. But i wouldve liked grilled cheese wedge on the side Overall everything was amazing. Jackie our waitress was helpful in making great recommendations! Cant wait to return!

We decided to try out the new kid on the pike for an early Saturday night dinner. We didn’t have a reservation, but I figured we were going in somewhat early so there shouldn’t be a problem getting a table — it wasn’t, but the place was hopping. I do like the look of this place — subway tiles rule the day here with wood tables and red leather chairs. The look is a solid classic for an upscale casual feel. It is dimly lit making for a comfortable and inviting space. They have a nice bar. As we enjoy the complimentary pita chips with hummus we notice the dinner menu is focused with some modern classic choices along with a decent selection of draft beer and wines as well as interesting cocktails. I try the Pike pilsner, my wife gets a glass of red malbec. My wife ordered the wedge salad as a starter and decides to make the mussels, which is an appetizer, her main. I go for the crispy chicken under a brick for my dinner with no app because I knew we would share what she ordered. A gentlemen other than our waitress, in a bit of a misstep, brings the mussels first, but we go with it. They were tasty with strips of chorizo in a white wine broth with grilled baguette slices. We share the large portion and notice the broth is rich, a couple of the mussels have a bit of grit also a little on the small side, but common issues for mussels. There was some confusion because after we finish the mussels and the plates cleared, our waitress brings a bowl and two small forks in preparation for the main course. We inform her that we already received the mussels and didn’t get the wedge salad yet. She apologizes, but we joke about eating any food that is put before us. The wedge comes out and it is a large portion — a rich flavorful salad. The chicken is not as crispy as I hoped it would be, but it was juicy and had good flavor with plenty of mashed potatoes that were a touch bland. Some of the Haricot Verts were a bit burnt giving them an off flavor. For dessert, we share the bread pudding which is warm and custardy. It was missing the strawberry purée, but it was still delicious. The Pike is less than 2 months old so I still feel it is in «previews» or trying to find it’s pacing. At this point a busy Saturday night is probably not going to be a flawless experience, but the staff is very friendly and accommodating — excellent service! In all honesty ours was probably a three star experience this occasion, but there is so much potential here! I am giving 4 stars because I believe this is what LI needs more of — locally owned, non-cookie cutter(non-chain) places, with reasonable prices and good portions of delicious food.
