Had a very enjoyable lunch here. Got the pulled pork sandwich with fries, fries were fast food grade but the sandwich was DELICIOUS. There were 8 others with us, drinks took a little too long as did the food, but otherwise everything was good. The atmosphere is nice. However, it’s a shame it closed.

Lola’s Facebook page says that the restaurant has been sold while it was closed for repairs. No official word but it looks like it will not re-open. (My one star is not a reflection of how much I enjoyed the restaurant when it was open.)

I’m actually shocked that this place has any good reviews at all. Shocked. Stopped by for lunch one day and it was one disaster after another. First off, the waiter was the rudest man I have ever had the experience of speaking with. Acted like he was doing us a favor the entire time. Took about 20 minutes just to get our drinks(and i’m talking like, ICEDTEA, nothing fancy). Which at least gave us plenty of time to try to read the menu which was extremely difficult in itself. Can the font get any smaller? Not sure. But then the actual wording on the menu leaves you feeling confused and stupid. Can’t you just say«burger»? It was like a game trying to figure out what we were ordering. When we finally got our lunch(which I will admit, the Mac and cheese was pretty good) it was over in two bites and then we had to wait another half hour for the waiter to grace us with his presence again. He kept us on our toes though. He would make eye contact as he passed by our table 15 times, keeping us in real suspense. I left fuming/starving and swearing id never go back. On top if this, the prices were insanely over priced. I loved it when it was the Sand Bar; what a shame.

It is an updated modern and designed restaurant and bar with black and white with large glass window in front wall. It was very welcoming and there were plenty of tables to chose from as we came later than lunch but earlier than typical dinner time. My friend and I were on very important mission the day,(which called reunion) and were having very nice warm day walking and exploring New Hope and Lambertville. We came here for late lunch before leaving back to Philadelphia to catch my bus to New York. It was also my last day back to Philadelphia for holiday and to spend with friends. we had a spacious table and ordered drink first to our friendly waiter/server. The sandwich with Catfishes are delicious with the souse they served with separate container(that went good with their french fries as well) . The burger with pork that my friend ordered looked big enough to fill his stomach. We were both happy with the food and service especially after being forgotten by a church. Thankful to my friend’s smart choice.

Great place to grab a bite to eat and have a brew. Friendly staff, this was my first time there and was with a small group, the host asked us if we wanted to check the place out before seating us and we said sure! He took us on a tour and then seated us upstairs where we got served by the coolest bartender. I had the crispy chicken wrap with a Guinness on tap and I must say it was really freaking good! .It’s a casual/trendy inviting place to hang with friends, I would even recommend as a good date spot. I’ll definitely be back.

Not impressed. We noticed this place as we were walking around and it looked nice from the outside so we decided to check it out. The atmosphere is a solid 4. But this did not make up for the extremely watered down drinks we both had. My boyfriend ordered a vodka cran while I ordered a White Russian and I gotta tell ya, his tasted like juice and mine tasted like milk. I don’t think I’ve ever had a weaker drink before. Service was okay, maybe a 3. She was nice but not that attentive. We contemplated ordering food, but after we tasted the drinks we decided to leave. Let me add that they were also grossly overpriced. Would not recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I didn’t like the service. I was waiting for my drinks for 15 min. Ordered salad was without dressing and with old leafs.

We stopped at Lola’s by chance, and we couldn’t have been happier. The beer selection was awesome, and the cocktails were wonderful. The food was amazing, and the cornbread was definitely the best I’ve ever had. We definitely recommend to all!

I am a vegatarian and baised on that I wouldn’t reccomend this restaurant for my veg friends… The worst part of our meal was that the tomatoes in their heirloom tomato salad were very gritty and pretty much awefull. My «lojito»(their special mojito) was lame too. My main corse was the absolute worst veggie entrée I’ve ever had… Creamed corn with quinoa and rosted veggies. Trust me, no bieno! With that being said my fiancée did have amazing fried chicken… So if u do eat meat give that a shot… But I’d suggest vegetarians go elsewhere.

The place is really cute and chill. We sat outside on a nice Saturday people watching. The bacon wrap shrimp was amazing. Delicious 5 cheese Mac and cheese. I would back again next time I’m in New Hope.

The best bar tenders and wait staff hands down. Righteous is a bad MF ! They made sure we had everything we needed and never did we want for anything Creative menu, love the small plates perfect size portions and prices were right in line. Only criticism is food needs more seasoning. Would have been amazing grilled shrimp with white bean needed more garlic, chicken thighs could have been a home run with a touch of spice. If the chef can tweak the seasonings then would be amazing

Bar masquerading as a tapas restaurant. It doesn’t matter how«interesting» the overpriced small plates sound if they arent made with fresh ingredients. Great place for Unilocalers with low expectations who are impressed by a garnish. FOODIESBEWARE Also, horrific service.

Met up with a friend and went into Lolas because we could not find another place that had seating. We ordered a burger at the bar and it was $ 5 which you cannot complain about as far as pub food goes. The place is not cheap though, just happens to have $ 5 burgers(with fries) which I would recommend. Pretty standard in quality

After driving in from Philly and wandering around for a bit, we decided to try Lola’s out for a leisurely, rainy day lunch. Despite the weather, we decided to sit outside, which was very pleasant. Our sever, while not over-the-top, was sufficiently attentive. We decided to go with the calamari special to start and it was some of the best I’ve had in recent memory — just breaded enough, with a great marinara sauce on the side. For the rest of our meal, my girlfriend and I decided to go with Lola’s lunch box, which includes any three sides for $ 18. The Cauliflower Croquettes, Crispy Pork Belly and Garlic Shrimp were all standouts. The Spaetzle Mac and Cheese and Banh Mi Sliders were quite good as well. The Mushroom Ramen Bowl, while certainly not awful, could certainly have used some extra flavor. After finishing our relaxed lunch, we moved inside to the bar for a drink. The interior of Lola’s is modern, but certainly doesn’t lack any charm or character. The mixed drink that I got was fine, and the bar-side pianist and singer ensured that we continued to have a nice time. Our meal here was on par with those at many of the better restaurants in Philly, and I intend to make a trip to Lola’s a regular part of future days in New Hope.

I love the ambiance but I don’t love the service nor their menu. I get the whole«shorter menu» but a short menu doesn’t mean your portions have to come so small. Was the food good? Yeah… but was it filling? Hell no! I certainly enjoyed my time here, mingling with the owner, sippin on alcohol and munching on their small dishes. My main issue was their portions and they took way too long to come out. Verdict — I’ll come back another time just for drinks at the bar. I would avoid dining in due to the small portions.

Happy hour 5 – 7. Half off wine and draft beer. I wish I could write two separate reviews. One for happy hour and the other on food. For happy hour, you really can’y find a better place(price wise). The also have $ 2 Miller High Life all the time. My fiace stopped in for hh after checking in to our b&b. We had gone when it was the Sand Bar and it’s always been tradition that we start our trips to New Hope there. As we walked, we realized they changed names, but where happy to see much of the staff was the same. We wer impressed to see the hh specials, so I partook in much wine before dinner. I peaked at a menu and was pleased to see they had more of a tapas style menu. I love tapas. Everything sounded great, so we made plans to return the next day for lunch. I give hh 5 stars. So we returne the next day, no wine this time around. Too much the night before. We sat at the bar and ordered the lunch box special. You can choose 3 options for $ 18. We ordered the Spaetzle Mac and Cheese, Curry Mussels, and Snails. Nothing tasted bad, just everything lacked seasoning. We were still a little hungry and asked what they had that had soffered a bit of a kick. The bartender suggested the Banh Mi Sliders. Didn’t really hit the spot. We were really hoping to love the food, but overall we were disappointed. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. I will definitely be going back to happy hour, but for dinner I’ll dine at one of the many restaurants in New Hope.

The food at Lola’s is really very good, but that’s where the«very good, stops»! The rest of the restaurant is a catastrophe. The menu orders are communicated from the waiter/waitress to the kitchen by computer. So, if there is a problem, such as the wrong food comes to the table, or someone at the table is not served while others members of the party are, the reply from the wait staff is «it’s on its way.» If after everyone is finished, and the one person at the table still is not served, well, the reply remains«it’s on its way!» The point is this, they can’t do anything about it. Once the computer takes the order, you can not correct mistakes with any resemblance to a timely manner. You’re just dumb out of luck! You can request to have two or three appetizers instead of one and a main course, but you can not have those three appetizers come to the table in a special order. The computer sees those dishes as appetizers, and by golly they come to the table in the order the restaurant sees fit, in other words, all at once, and the wait staff does not care if you requested one at a time. Even if they said they could. They lie! Being vegetarians, we could not get a straight answer on whether certain items were vegetarian or not. When asked to point out the items which are vegetarian, the response was«you probably are going to have a problem.» Fine, which items are vegetarian? It seemed to be too much work for the fellow. If you complain, they are polite. They listen, and then they ask«what do you want from me?» They take no responsibility for any of their actions. The wait staff places the order, and then it’s beyond their control. The kitchen says they only do what they are told. A real case of sub optimization. The magnification of the parts, to the detriment of the whole. While we were complaining, another table just got up and left. They got tired of waiting for the waiter to produce the check. It was a real amateur night. The restaurant is supposed to be a 1920’s era place. We still can’t figure out what in it looks like the«flapper» era? The large poster of a Latino looking fellow, bare chested, playing a guitar in front of some polar bears does not seem to fit. The nice tasting food is not enough to overcome some very severe short comings! A real amateur night.

Almost walked past this gem as we were looking for lunch with our two kids(13 and 10). Stopped to look at the menu and was encouraged to go in by a very nice gentleman. I’m very glad we did. Completely renovated from the sports bar. Very nice ambiance, plenty of friendly staff and very cool period music(40s?) gave the place an amazing ambiance. Our lunch was delicious and even the kids were satisfied(although its better suited for adults in the evening.) We stopped by for drinks, appetizers and live acoustic music(really acoustic… no speakers) and it was a terrific time.

Fantastic tapas style restaurant with a number of eccentric dishes at a great price and portion size. The avocado lobster salad with pickled onions and celery served with fresh pita triangles was insatiable, as was the mushroom and tomato risotto with pine nuts. Great place to do family style dining. Same owner as the Sandbar, but this place has really stepped its game up.

Excellent food and infused cocktails. Small plates — spaetzle mac and cheese, mom’s meatballs, fig*ancho-dusted almonds*honey*goat cheese curd plate, duck confit on toast— all perfectly sized and tasty shares. Great service from the hostess and bartender… What a nice addition to New Hope!
