Five Guys is always consistent and delicious. You have to wait a little to get your food but that’s what the peanuts are for. Just don’t get one stuck in your throat, because it’s terrible! Trust me.

I already knew Five Guys burgers and fries were super yummy, so naturally I was very excited to hear about the new location. It’s walking distance from my job. My coworkers and I put our orders in online and the great thing is that they don’t make your french fries until you pick your order up — no soggy fries! The staff is great and super friendly — one time my coworker put her order to the wrong location and didn’t realize until we went to pick the order up during lunch time rush. The staff was really nice about it and accommodating and didn’t make her wait in line to put the order in again, which she was really grateful about. Keep up the great service and good food! :-)

I’m not sure what’s worse, someone who charges $ 6 for a burger under ¼ lb or the bozo who pays $ 6 for a burger under ¼ lb. I’ll go with the person who pays $ 6 for a burger under ¼ lb. Come on people, wise up out there! Needless to say, I walked out. Hockey pucks are cheaper at Sports Authority.

I’d never been to a Five Guys before, so I took the opening of their new location in downtown New Haven as an opportunity to give them a try. The location itself is spacious and completely spotless, at least at this point. The staff is friendly and the whole process of ordering and getting my food took well under 10 minutes, which is far more efficient than either of NH’s existing, alliterative burger purveyors. Went with a regular bacon cheeseburger topped with everything(except mayo, eww), and an order of their cajun fries. Turns out«regular» actually means a double, but luckily this outing took place post-happy hour and thus was not an issue. The burger was good but hardly outstanding – the cheese was barely melted and the patties are standard fast food hockey pucks. Honestly, I was more impressed with the quality of the onion and mushroom toppings, which were pretty delicious. The cajun fries were well seasoned, but overall a little mushy for my taste. I’m sure I’ll offend some Five Guys aficionados, but I don’t quite understand the appeal of paying ~$ 12 for a slightly-above-average burger and fries. Still, it never hurts to have more options.
