Have family in the area and came in for a late lunch. Other then the«out of the way» location all else was good. The food was fresh and tasty. The staff was very nice and helpful. 5 People, 2 pizza’s and 2 pasta lunches was $ 62($ 73 with tip). Fair price and solid food.

I’m amazed at all of these reviews that don’t give Brazi’s Justice. I’ve been going here for years and I always get the cavatelli pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage with garlic sauce. I’ve also ate chicken parm, pizza and much much more. I can’t say more good things. You won’t be disappointed. Val will always take good care of you, o yeah try the limoncello.

I’ve enjoyed every meal ever had at this restaurant. Service was always great, and when I had a large dinner party here years ago they brought out limoncello for everyone at the end.

I’ve never been to an Italian restaurant where the food was so bland. Their red sauce had no flavor. Save your money and go elsewhere. They forgot about us when we were seated so I had to get a waiter. The waiter that eventually served us did a great job and made up for the oversight. Unfortunately, there was no improving bad food.

Giving any Italian place a run for its money as best in New Haven. Great bread to start the dinner and its unlimited(with oil and balsamic) menu has anything you could ever want and dress is anything from suits to jeans and a polo. Highly recommend if you want a fine italian meal

The service was top notch. The staff was very attentive. The bread was top notch. There was a very good house dressing for the salad but the side salad was super small. I ordered the veal francese and it was OK. I would say give Brazi’s a shot.

Very attentive service from entering to leaving, greeted right away and asked how our meal was as we left, and in between taken care of every moment. Not only was the food tasty and wonderful it was hot. The steak special was so flavorful! Never did we have to wait too long between courses. What a perfect dining experience! You can always tell from the bread if restaurant is good, and they did not disappoint!!! Great job!

Went there with my wife and son and had a great meal. Everyone enjoyed their food and had no complaints. The strip steak I had was better than most steak houses. The service was very good and I thought the prices were very good.

This was my first visit to Brazi’s, and I’m sure that there will be many more in the future. Even at lunch, the food was top-notch quality and the service was impeccable. It has a very comfortable, welcoming atmosphere as well. Highly recommended!

Brazi’s is considered an «old reliable» by many when it comes to traditional red sauce Italian restaurants in the New Haven area. It’s been in business for many years even though its location isn’t where you’d normally expect to find a restaurant. It’s tucked away in a truck depot/warehouse. If you’re looking for large portions of pasta, chicken parmigiana, veal parmigiana, and even pizza then this is your place. In all honesty I’ve never had a bad meal here. It is what it is. Just don’t go in expecting super creative dishes or specials. The brick oven with the stack of wood in the front is a nice touch, but if you look really good you’ll see that it’s actually fire by gas burners, not wood. Prices are reasonable and they’re not going to bust anyone’s wallet. Service has always been fine whenever I’ve visited, even though the wait staff can be slightly overbearing. They seem to act more like New Yorkers than they do New Haveners. By the way, kudos to Brazi’s for getting rid of the outdated 1980’s pastels and mirrored walls. It still maintains sort of a banquet hall atmosphere but at least now it’s moved up to the 1990’s era. Oh well, you eat the food, not the walls.

First attempted to come in on a Saturday night, over an hour wait. Would not accept reservations unless it was a party of 6 or more. The following week we came back to try it for lunch instead. I had the eggplant parm, which was a nice amount of food and I was even able to get Alfredo sauce on my side of penne. My husband loved his lemon chicken. Both came with starter salads with an amazing creamy balsamic house dressing. The bread basket was unique as well… Great experience two weeks ago.

Bread was amazing, I LOVE soft warm bread. I noticed the waiters talk SOOOO much to each other. Waiter seemed to forget about us as he and a whole conversation while we stared at him for about 10 minutes. Penne ala vodka had NO pink creamy sauce. It was clumpy tomatoes and naked pasta. I’m used to having rich orange/pink creamy sauce. Wasn’t worth its price point of $ 15. It was okay, definitely just a place to stop by once a year when you’re in new haven and not in the mood to search for a restaurant. Somewhat disappointed but it was nice. I think 85% of my 3 stars is going to the soft warm bread. And thanks for the reply, but no, the menu specifically said pink of whatever color it was CREAMY sauce. It was not creamy at all. It was the consistency of a poorly made tomato sauce.

In New Haven for one night to check out the forensic program at UNH, my senior daughter and I checked in to the LaQuinta Inn. After a 3−½ hour trip from Philadelphia, we just wanted a hot, but light-fared dinner on this first chilly autumn evening. Far across the parking lot we spotted Brazi’s. As we walked towards it, the property looked kind of weird, with the side of it backing up to a food distribution terminal full of trucks. But we later found out that was a good thing, because Brazi’s has quick access to the freshest meats, seafoods and vegetables. Upon walking in about 9:00pm on a Saturday night, we were greeted warmly and led to a table to the side. There were many small dinner parties going on and the atmosphere was full of happy chatter and laughter. After about 20 minutes, the revelers began to leave and it got a bit quieter. We were immediately brought a carafe of ice cold water — a very welcome touch because we love our water ice cold and lots of it without having to bother a waiter constantly. We were brought a basket of warm, freshly-baked, delicious bite-sized pieces of soft, but gently crisped bread napped with tomato sauce and pepperoni knots. We love expertly prepared fried calamari and the the heaping platter of lightly dusted rings and tentacles didn’t disappoint. Excellent! My daughter opted for tortellini chicken soup. The soup was piping hot and beautifully prepared with fresh chicken broth, shreds of moist chicken and tortellini topped with freshly chopped parsley. It hit the spot for her. I wanted something equally light and ordered mussels in white. I was brought an immense plate brimming with fresh, expertly prepared, small and tender mussels with a white wine-butter-roasted garlic-fresh parsley broth. Topped by four slices of crusty Italian bread, it was a dipper’s dream. Our waiter, Fran was arguably one of the best waiters I have ever had — and I eat out a lot. He was friendly, professional, hard-working and courteous. We struck up a conversation with him and we’re glad we did. What a wonderful guy — he performed his job with gusto and passion and it showed. At the end of dinner, all we wanted was some hot tea and then Fran brought us some tiny biscotti which ended a sweet night on an even sweeter note. Fran took a liking to us so much, he hugged and kissed us and then sent us off with an authentic Italian ciao!

My family attempted to go here for lunch. After sitting and waiting for 20 minutes my father asked the manager to send a waiter to the table. When he arrived his annoyed tone and abruptness made us feel that we were unwelcome, so we got up and left. The waiter was not the slightest remorseful about the way we were treated. If you have brown skin, be careful when you enter this place. Definitely not worth a penny out of my pocket!

Came here for the fist time this afternoon and really enjoyed it! The service here was some of the best I have ever had. Our waiter randy was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The rolls were amazing especially the pepperoni knots! For my meal i had half a margarita pizza and half a chicken salad. Both were very good. The bartender made me a great bloody marry too. I deff plan to return again but for dinner next time.

After multiple visits I must say this is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat and I have never been disappointed in any of my visits. If you want professional service, clean environment, and great food this is no question the right place. This Beautiful place makes you feel comfortable whether your wearing a suit or casual shorts and t shirt. They start you off with freshly baked bread along with pepperoni stuffed bread bites which are wonderful. All of the soups are amazing! Whether the fantastic pasta fagoli or any one of the soups on there menu you will not be disappointed. Brick oven pizzas are delicious. Meals are all good with a variety of food from hearty lasagna to a steak and cheese grinder. As far as drinks they serve one of the best sangria’s around. A+ establishment! A must go!

Food and service was okay — we had pizza. Of course, it’s not at the level of Sally’s, Ernie’s, etc., but it’s not horrible. However, I’ll never come back here and would strongly recommend no one else come either. They levied a 20% gratuity onto the check for a party of FOUR. Didn’t see any note on the menu warning us about this. To add further injury to insult, they charged it on the after-tax total!(Receipt is posted in photos). I have encountered this at one other restaurant in the area recently(Saray Turkish), and shudder to think this is becoming some sort of trend. I won’t return to any restaurant that engages in this shortsighted screwing of its customers.
