My daughter and I went on a busy Saturday night, but were not disappointed! Our attentive waiter, Marcus recommended a seasonal beer that was awesome. We both ordered some of Nick’s famous crabcakes… very nice size with all crabmeat with no filler… hot and tasty! Love the cozy atmosphere! The service and food were excellent… will definitely go back again! The prices can’t be beat either!

Never once have I had a bad meal at Nick’s. The service has always been great, the food is always delicious, and the portion sizes are perfect for the price. Simply put, it’s a great example of a small-town, locally-owned restaurant.

Came in had the nachos which are pretty good and beer. It’s a warm comfortable place to be in during the day. Don’t how it is at night.

Went to Nick’s 114 last night with my son. The packing lot was packed, but we had no trouble getting a table. The restaurant is a bit on the dark side but had a cozy, warm feel to it. There are a mix of tables and booths. There is a large, fully stocked bar and a nice crowd of locals having a seemingly good time. We were seated at a booth, close to the bar, a wall full of TV’s and the kitchen door, It was little to busy for me. I would’ve preferred a table in the dining room. The hostess that sat us was so so… not friendly, not rude. We were handed a menu and laminated card with the daily specials. I can’t tell you much about our server because she didn’t leave much of an impression. She was cordial, but seemed disinterested. I don’t think we could’ve paid her to smile. I ordered Nick’s Primavera, a combination of chicken, shrimp and scallops(18.95). My son ordered the Sauteed Bay Scallops and Cavatappi Pasta(15.95). We were served a garden salad, which turned out to be the best part of our meal. My dinner arrived and at first sight site looked promising. There was more than an ample serving on the plate. I quickly discovered that the plate was piled high with a ton of huge broccoli and cauliflower florets that looked like chopped tree tops. They were huge and took more effort to cut than was necessary. The scallops and shrimp looked nicely seared but were so terribly overcooked and dry. I ate one of each and was no longer invested in my meal. I picked out all of broccoli and scallops and ended up eating only a few of the carrots. My meal was disappointing and lacked flavor, unless you count the substandard alfredo sauce that was gobbed on top. Thank goodness for salad. My son’s plate was describe as: sauteed bay scallops in a red pepper gouda sauce topped with a shrimp skewer and place on a bed of cavatappi pasta. One would expect to see scallops, right? Nope. When my son’s dish arrived it looked nothing like it’s description. He received a plate of pasta in red sauce top with a skewer of shrimp. Honestly, it looked as though the pasta was thrown in a pot, mixed with a red sauce and plopped onto the plate. My son asked the server if the dish she brought was what he actually ordered. She explained that the scallops were mixed into the sauce and that the cook said the description needed to be changed because customers weren’t understanding it. Hmm… ummm… it’s our fault the food isn’t as described? My son searched his plate for scallops but only found bits and pieces… not at all what he was expecting. Overall, we were both extremely disappointed with our meal and only ate a portion of it. My son decided to take a to go bag, in case he got desperate for food during the night. I won’t go so far as to say I would never return to Nick’s 114. However, if I do return I will stick to their salad and sandwich menu and maybe a beer.

Have been going to Nicks for years due to consistent food and fast service. As of late, the service has slipped and older hostess is more rude than normal. My family has stopped going there due to consistent service issues. It’s a shame as this used to be an institution in the area.

Their fish tacos were described on the menu as being prepared with corn tortillas and they were not. The tacos had no flavor at all, and the lime served with the tacos were cut incorrectly, they were not cut in wedges, but rather, in slices. I ordered food, NOT a cocktail. Our waiter was attentive but sarcastic the entire time. I won’t be back.

We’ve never had a bad meal at Nick’s. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, the service is consistently good, and don’t be surprised if Nick stops by your table to make sure you are enjoying your meal. Great neighborhood restaurant, big enough that we never have to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes, though the parking lot does get very full. Park on the street if the lot fills up. Just go — you’ll be glad you did!

July 2014 update. Nick’s on Bridge Street, New Cumberland is quite a large place. I was surprised to see how busy it was on a mid week lunch time, and obviously popular with the locals. I started with a house salad which was ho hum. I thne followed with the recommended calf liver and onions, and yes it was good, with a good gravy. The onions were nicely charred to give a sweetness, the liver was moist and not hard(from freezing). It came with real mash potatoes. The only suggestion I can make is add some rashers of bacon to this plate. There was a selection of beers but no cask beers. Service was Ok although waiter had forgot my friend’s drink. Friends praised their chicken wrap and crab cakes, something for me to try next visit.

Went on a sat night around 830 for a late dinner. We walked in and immediately you can tell that this bar is a local hangout for the neighborhood which is fun. but its a bit trashy and the décor is… well none. There wasn’t a huge crowd so it wasn’t too loud with chatter. Waited for our waitress for about 10 minutes to even acknowledge us in our booth. Waitress was nice but seemed a little out of it. They had an okay beer tap list and the liquor drink I ordered was good. Then we ordered our food. The menu had a great selection. It took about 30 minutes for the food to come out. I ordered the Carolina pulled pork sandwich and fries. The sandwich WOULD have been delicious if it wasn’t colder than a witches tit. The fries were nice and hot though! I did not send my food back due to my sneaking suspicion that I might get a prize in it when it returned to me… Just felt like that kind of a thing could go down.(but I don’t know for sure of course, just being cautious) My friend ordered the Mediterranean haddock. It was hot and actually pretty good! The dish came out with a sprinkle of scallops. For 16 dollars I expect the scallops to be a bit bigger than the size of a Dime… Right before we left, the Saturday night local ‘dj’ was setting up his set.(there were no actual turn tables so I don’t really consider that a dj). We had the pleasure of listening to it for about 5 minutes. Lets just say, it was time for us to end this experience. Over all I wouldn’t actually go back there on my own accord. But maybe it was just a one time thing.

Little disappointed… The crab cake was decent, but the ceasar salad was a huge miss. They messed up two of the orders from my friends. Service was decent though.

these owners are straight greeks. almost everything you could ask for on a menu, and a really large selection. HONEY-BBQWINGS are WONDERFUL with a side of their home-made bleu cheese and celery! they’re popular for their crab cakes! also good salads such as the greek, and tomato bisque soup is excellent! good food as i may say!

Customer service is generally abusive but the food is good. Open dining atmosphere with a room of pool tables and darts. The bar area is cramped and suckish. Stay away from Friday night DJ dance parties unless you’re trolling for walrus.

By far the worst customer service I have ever had buying wings. Would not recommend this place to anyone… Way to many places to eat to be this piss poor to new customers that could have stopped by every Sunday.

A group of us called ahead to be sure that we could find suitable seating for our 100 year old mother and were more than pleased with how well we were treated by our waitress Brittany, the hostess, and the entire restaurant staff. Menu selections were varied and tasty. Their reputation for good crab cakes is well earned and several of us enjoyed them. Others enjoyed pulled pork and Philly cheese steak sandwiches. Brittany brought the birthday girl a special dessert and led the entire restaurant in wishing her a happy 100th. The night was special and the restaurant is one to which we will look forward to returning many times.

I travel for business nearly every week and am always in search of a truly«locals-only» place. Nick’s is it. Always crowded, but the fact that the bartender knew literally everyone’s name –and drink– on both of my recent visits was something I see all too rarely. The best part was that even though I was(probably obviously) not a local, everyone from the hostess to the person who ran my food was genuinely friendly and welcoming. They have sandwiches, salads, dinners, and lots of Italian fare… The chicken piccata is good, a huge portion. Definitely stop in for a drink or dinner. This place deserves your business.

Ive been to nicks now 3 different times, and i truly can say that not every single time has been amazing. The first time is actually the worst out of all of them, and since i personally try extremely hard to never judge a restaurant based off of one visit, i didn’t :) I came here with my girlfriend, she said her dad has been coming here for years and years and he loves it. The first time here i walked in and felt extremely close to everyone even though i had never been there. I STILL felt welcomed and not awkward like you do at some little homey places. The waitress was extremely nice and extremely knowledgeable, i was feeling like spaghetti, and for some reason i continue to get spaghetti at places i know will not be that good(nicks being one of them). I honestly cannot tell you the price because it was well over a year that i had gotten it. So the spaghetti for me was a no-go and almost caused me not to come here anymore. The next time i went i got the Lobster Bisque and a sandwich for lunch. The Lobster Bisque is honestly probably the best Ive EVER had. GIANT chunks of lobster and it is not too«rich» in flavor if you understand what i mean, its a fairly mild flavor, but its absolutely perfect. I cannot remember what else i got, but i do remember that the Lobster Bisque was enough to make me come back again. The last time i went(yesterday) i got(i actually remember this time) a bowl of the Lobster Bisque and a hot turkey sandwich. Again, the Lobster Bisque was Spot on! You can honestly taste the freshness of it, just absolutely superb. The turkey sandwich on the other hand was nothing to write home about… Deli-Turkey, sliced bread from a normal loaf of bread. I can make better at home. If they solely just changed the type of bread to an Italian bread or just something else it would make it a lot better, but until then the Hot Turkey sandwich will just be a normal turkey sandwich with some good gravy on it. Ive been told time after time that the Prime Rib is excellent and i keep forgetting to get it… Probably due to me forgetting EVERYTHING ;) The service here, every time Ive come has been SUPERB. The waitress’s have the normal«Whats good here?» answer and that would be everything. Which to me doesn’t help me out, but for the most part they are right and are pretty knowledgeable. And they make you feel like a friend every time you come in here, which makes it that much more fun to come here and be relaxed. That’s all I have to say about Nicks, 4⁄5 because of the AMAZING lobster bisque(and Ive heard crab cakes are the way to go) and the service, and its pretty well priced.

I went to Nick’s the other day(Obviously, since I am reviewing it).I can honestly say there’s nothing quite like it. Its atmosphere is like a bar and a diner fused together. I’ve only ever been there with my girlfriend’s family, and the staff seems to recognize them every time(they’ve been going there for over ten years). Anyway, they have a full bar there and have sports games and trivia playing on their TVs. Now, onto food. My girlfriend’s family typically orders the«sausages and honey» appetizer(which is a actually quite good). Also, we ordered the«blackened swordfish» appetizer, which was quite delicious as well. As for dinner, i chose the salmon cakes, which came with 2 sides. They’re really good and very filling. Overall, It’s a great place to go with you family or friends. …And don’t expect a great parking spot. A lot of people go there.
