Kobe Sushi

The Yankee Roll is hands down the best thing ever! And so is the Valentine Roll. and a few others.

This place has gotten so much better over the past 2 years. Fast service and they are so kind here! The 3 roll combo for $ 11.95 is the best deal out there! The Yankees roll is extremely good and my favorite roll here. Also, they serve hibachi dishes for a great price!

Ate here last night with my girlfriend. We both enjoyed the food very much. We got the fancy crab and the fancy salmon rolls. Both were very tasty and filling. Its a good sushi place that I would return to again. Everything seems fresh and is prepared within sight like most sushi places.

I’m playing a Jazz/R&B gig at Kobe Sushi in New City NY tonight (5÷16÷15) from 6:30 — 9:30. Come by and have some great food and fun. And there’s no cover. I’d love to see my Unilocal friends. Harvey

It was just okay. Kumo across the street is way better and has a more upbeat atmosphere. Sushi was nothing special. I thought it would be a new sushi spot for me since I basically like to eat sushi every day, but it was kind of a boring place.

Kobe Sushi is in the old Wasabi space, and they haven’t changed much: pretty much your classic sushi and Japanese food place in style, décor, and the food quality. I’ve never had a bad plate of sushi here, and it’s become my normal go-​to spot in New City when I want to grab a sushi lunch or some rolls. They’re not going to do anything to surprise you, but that’s often a good thing.

Good for takeout! One of my favorite sushi resturants!

Another great night with seemingly half of of New City at Kobe. Wonderful live entertainment from an amazing duo known as HIP REPLACEMENT.

Food was excellent. Delivery was fast and delivery man was friendly. Very good meal at a very good price.

I chipped two of my teeth from a small pebble that was in their fried rice. They will not respond to my request to pay the dentist bill like any reputable business would. Would NEVER eat anything from this place.
UPDATE: I finally heard from their insurance company (after I filed a small claims court case) and they reimbursed me for my dental expenses. Wish they would have done that without having to do the court thing.

Live acoustic music on weekends is a plus. The two special combo roll meal is a very good deal that I haven’t seen offered at dinner elsewhere. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. Only negative is that it is a little tight and sometimes I feel crammed when it is busy.

This was s superior restaurant on all counts when we visited on a busy Friday. My dinner companion had two types of rolled sushi: both were excellent. I was more in a cooked food mood and their crispy boneless duck was superb. Their service staff are very attentive even when nearly harried by the large Friday night crowd. Very elegant contemporary upscale atmosphere. We will return.

Great sushi and atmosphere! Very nice servers and they have super delicious martinis, as well as an extensive cocktail list. I like the selection of rolls without rice, they are wrapped in rice paper or cucumber and are super refreshing. When it’s busy, however, service can become a little iffy. There are like 3 waitresses for the whole place and it can get hectic. This didn’t deter the enjoyment of my visits here and I will continue to come back.

Best sushi in Rockland County. Excellent service and even better food. I am a sushi lover and this place is hidden gem in New City. Great Togo but even better if u can experience the relaxing atmosphere to accompany excellent sushi. I recommend sitting at the sushi bar.

I ordered to go from here thinking it was wasabi grille. When I found our it was Kobe I said why not give it a try.
I was extremely disappointed. Their sushi was just awful and their tuna pizza was a mess. I view myself as a sushi enthusiast and this place should just sell now!

Please bring wasabi grille back!!!

I have been to this place about 3 times now. The first time I actually meant to go back to Wasabi Grill.
I usually will not review a place until I have visited more then 2 times.
I will say that I did notice a change in the food when the place was turned into Kobe Sushi. The food here is actually really good.
The service here is actually really good too.
The one thing that drives me nuts, for an «upscale» sushi place, that is trying to be a bit on the trendy side is the MUSIC!
The music is like an 80’s flash back, which made me want to immediately grow a mullet back and put on denim everything.
I heard Separate Ways, by Journey and a small tear fell into my miso soup.
Then when I heard Unchained Melody, from the Ghost sound track, I almost spun my delicious Tuna Tartar into some amazing piece of pottery art.
Then I heard How Deep Is Your Love, by the Bee Gees, and it was about as deep as my love for the Filet Tataki.
Then I heard All Out Of Love by Air Supply, which almost made me order a few more large Saki’s but I resisted the urge and paid my bill.
My summary, this place has really good potential, other then the music and bad parking, but they make up for it with good service and good food.
Priices were a little higher then most sushi places around, but I will spend an extra few bucks for good things.
