Nice family Italian in center of New Canaan. Drove up from Bridgeport with my father for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Very cosy rustic interior that includes a fireplace. Started off with homemade breadsticks which were delicious. My father had eggplant rollatini with a side of pasta. I had Manicotti which were gigantic. Vera, our waitress was very nice .Both of our dishes were excellent. Most of the people that gave negative reviews are not even Italian. We had a great overall experience and will be back.

They need a menu refresher and interior refresher to stay open much longer in a town with many other great pizza options around the corner.

Gave us a margarita pizza with fresh cheese, but incredibly sparse toppings. Very rude when we called go ask them to fix it. I can get pizza elsewhere in this town.

My family has been going here forever, and getting delivery all the time. This is my first review of a place, and to be honest, the foods alright. The service is awful. The staff appear to hate their jobs. The delivery boys, actually hate their jobs. It took them two hours to deliver a pizza, salad, an entrée.

I have been going to Vicolo(I have always called it Vicolos) ever since my family first moved to New Canaan back in the mid 90s. The restaurant is hidden from the street, requiring you to go down a series of small stairs off the sidewalk. The restaurant is located in a basement and is a good size. Vicolos caters to families, so do not come here expecting a fine dining experience. In regards to the menu, Vicolos offers a wide variety of Italian dishes. They have numerous pizzas, pastas and entrée offerings. In my experience, the food has always been good and consistent. While I do enjoy their pizzas, I am not crazy about the crust(too flaky in my opinion), but it is still good nonetheless. The pastas and entrees are good as well, and are served in large portions. In addition to dining at the restaurant, I have also ordered takeout from Vicolos countless times. The quality of the delivery food is always good, but delivery times can vary quite a bit. Vicolos has had the same staff for as long as I can remember, and they have always been extremely welcoming and attentive. Overall, this is a great place to take the family for Italian food, especially if you have younger kids. The quality, size(portion), and price of the food is hard to beat in New Canaan.

We stopped here on our way from NYC to Boston. It is easily the highest quality pizza I’ve ever eaten outside of the city. Perfect Sauce/Cheese. Crust was ok but remember this isn’t NYC. 5 Stars forsure.

Their take out business has provided the biggest scam in New Canaan cuisine. How people are so gullible is a bit pathetic. Their pizza is an absolute disgrace(seriously, no sauce; soggy; etc.) and the rest of their food is barely acceptable. I guess if all that matters to you is that they deliver, then be sure to order from here, but if you want an actual meal that has any flavor or provides you any pleasurable dining experience, seek something else.

I grew up in New Canaan but haven’t lived there for seven years. And still, every time I go back, I go to Vicolo(sometimes multiple times). I have yet to delete their phone number from my phone. Their breadsticks are delicious(and very easy to over-eat, so watch out) and probably the highlight of the menu. Their pizzas are probably not that special, but they’re delicious and cheap(especially for New Canaan, where it’s generally difficult to find super-affordable dinner options). And they have take-out and free delivery! The atmosphere is very casual and family-friendly(if you go early enough, sometimes too much … lots of soccer team parties here and the like), and they have nice outdoor seating for the summer. It might sound hyperbolic and probably gives the restaurant more credit than most would, but Vicolo’s marinara pizza would actually be my last meal, if I had my way.
