Tried this place out again knowing it’s not my favorite, but at the time it was the only place to get a slice. As usual the pizza was dry with barely any marinara sauce as well as tasteless and expensive for the quality. However, my girlfriend got the white pizza, and we also got a chicken wrap with pesto and sun dried tomato, which was their saving grace. Also, the staff was really nice. Not the best, but not the worst I’ve had.

The worst pizza. Inedible. Many years ago this place had very good calzones and somewhat decent slices. The 2 times in past few months — award for worst pizza ever.

I am surprised too at the bad reviews. I can’t speak for delivery but I’ve eaten here several times while shopping nearby and I’ve found the staff friendly and pizza really good! There’s usually a game on on TV overhead and people are busy watching but it never takes anything away from getting good service. I will be going back!

Good pizza but service lacks a smile. If is what it is. A pizza joint. But, in a town with multiple pizza places they could try.

I am really really surprised to see the low Unilocal rating for this place(2.5 stars as of my writing of this review). The pizza here is the best New York style pizza I’ve had in the area. We live outside of Pinocchio’s delivery radius, so I can’t comment on the delivery service, but my family and I often drive to New Canaan from Stamford whenever we have a pizza craving. The white pizza is amazing. My wife loves the salads too, and they are huge. The place isn’t anything fancy, just a hole in the wall pizza parlor in the main shopping area downtown, and the seating is a little cramped, but I don’t know of a better pizza in the Stamford/New Canaan area.

Not impressed… Lacking hospitality, professionalism, and flavor. Called in and was told 20 minutes for a pie. over heard them say they gave mine away when I arrived, had to wait an additional 5 minutes.

My review is strictly related to the delivery service as we have not eaten in the restaurant. Having said that my family has had delivery from Pinocchio at least once a month for the last year or more. We like it a lot. While this place is not on par with the best full Italian restaurants in the area — that is not the right comparison. What you get here is good Italian that is head and shoulders above any other pizza delivery in the area. Pizza is done well and with a healthy amount of toppings. I like the Sicilian while rest of my family prefers the regular crust — but if you like the really thin crust style you will likely be disappointed with either. I like a healthy amount of sauce but if you are not a big sauce fan you should ask for it light. Crust style, sauce & topping ratios and amount of cheese are very subjective items — I find if I tell them what I want it arrives correct(crust excepting) I totally disagree with other reviewers that say the pizza and pasta is bland. We find it very flavorful with fresh ingredients. We also like the Italian dinners which have a flavor you would normally expect from a restaurant and not a «pizza place». The red sauce in particular is not the bland«ragu style» you get from the majority of pizza places in Stamford area(we have tried them all). We like the chicken and eggplant parm as well as the Tuscan chicken. Delivery is generally quick and the food arrives hot. I’d say the«miss» here about 1 in 10 times but that is as good or better than I see with most delivery.

I would give less than 1 star if there was a choice. I ordered take out today, staff is not friendly and pizza is the worst I have had in my life. It is highly priced and I don’t mind paying for good stuff. It was so runny and tasteless. Honestly Dominos/Papa Johns has way better pizza.

Delivery takes FOREVER and the pizza is always cold upon arrival. Bland and uninspiring, both the pizza and the entrees. Save your money and go elsewhere. New Canaan truly lacks in good pizza places, but Joe’s is pretty decent.

Bland. Nothing delicious about their pizza, in fact, I’d say Papa John’s and Domino’s probably have better tasting pizza.

Best pizza in New Canaan! The competition in this town is very poor though — so it’s not 5-star quality. In order to get really good pizza, within an hour or two, one has to go to NYC or to New Haven.

A large group of us occasionally orders from Pinocchios. NOBODY orders Pizza, it is mediocre at best. Add chicken to your salad only if you like it dry … very dry.

So I am completely mystified as to how they won so many of those awards for«worlds best pizza». Really, the pizza is well, kind of less than spectacular. And if they hadn’t hyped themselves up so much, maybe I would have given them 3 stars. Probably not. Way too many great, really good, and good pizza places for me to go back there. If anyone figured out the deal with how they won so many competitions and awards, please let me know. I just can’t piece it together. Just my humble opinion.

Been going there for years — recently had a terrible wedge — chicken was undercooked and tasted a bit rancid. I’m not going back!

We ordered two pizzas for the road recently and they both were pretty great: mushroom and meatball. I only had the mushroom but based on the silence from my fellow passengers the meatball was great. Cold for breakfast the next day, the mushroom was equally enjoyable. That is the true mark of a good pizza.

This is a pizza shop run by guys who know how to make pizza. Dino is one of the world pizza champions.legit. Their slices are massive, chicken parm heros delicious, and calzones cheesy. The place is small, maybe 3 booths and 2 tables so take out would be your best bet. And you won’t be breaking the bank. Affordable!
