Captain Al’s Kitchen

I’ve been coming here since I was a little one! I enjoyed the fire fighter theme through out the restaurant! It’s a great place to bring kids because every where you look another badge or fire fighter logo is in sight! We used to count how many mickeys we can find! Additionally it can get crowded so it’s a hit or miss when it comes to space to dine.

A place where people probably frequent because they know each other. Nothing different about the food or menu outside of usual diner fare.
Would suit most people’s fancy who are looking for the usual in a comfortable place, with friendly staff, and quirky décor.

Good menu variety and decent portions. The quality of meals were ok. My omelette was bit dry, and the home fries were a little blend. I would not rave about it, but my friends seemed to have enjoyed their meals very much.
The staff was amazing! Waitering staff was cheerful, polite and attentive. When I went to pay the bill, they told me cash only. When I said Unilocal had them accepting credit cards, the waitress invited to meet the owner backstage and show her the Unilocal page. She appreciated me volunteering to have it changed, but thank God for the ATM on premises otherwise I would have had to wash dishes.
Overall I had a positive experience, even though I did not have the best meal out of the bunch. Maybe the chef was not on top of her game that day. It is very nice that they cater to firefighters. I would definitely like to come back to try more options and see why this place deserves the 4 to 5 stars it has been rated by other Unilocalers.
If you plan on coming here leave your credit card at home. They only accept cash. They do have an ATM on premises.

This is a classic, small, local flavor breakfast spot catering to firefighters (of which both my dad and granddad were) with a nice menu selection and very good food. Kind of off the beaten path but worth a visit if you’re looking for breakfast in the Hardware City environs.

Best breakfast around! It is a home away from home! The staff is great and treat you like family! A MUST try!!!

Best breakfast and lunch. Great corn egg hash and blueberry pancakes and friendly staff.

I’m not a review writing type uh guy, but this place makes me jump around on a po-​go stick I don’t have… lol…can’t go wrong at this place (and that’s comin from a pretty picky guy!!)
