Came in and decided to get a piece of carrot cake. Was old and hard. Not good at all.

Long lines, for a reason. If you get a chance to grab a sandwich or some bread from this place, it’s a must. Amazing desserts, coffee, sandwiches, etc etc etc.

Back in December I ordered a cake for my boyfriends birthday. The cake was fun and tasted very good but what I loved the most was the service. Kathy I believe is the girl who made the cake, she was so professional and gave me so much information. She explained the difference between sizes, flavors types of frosting. Though I didn’t give her a lot of time she explained what design she could do with the short time given. I also tried several pastries that were so yummy. Definitely will be back!

Best hidden gem in NB. The sandwiches and desserts are fresh and inexpensive. I recommend the Ed’s special and the guava pastry. Kathy makes the best custom cakes!

I have driven past this bakery countless times and decided to stop in this afternoon to check out the pastries. I asked the clerk what were the most popular desserts and took her advice and purchased a guava pastry. The pastry was light, fluffy and delicious, but I thought it would have benefited from more guava filling.

Mom is a bakery aficionado, so when she dragged me to a tiny place in New Britain, I was a little annoyed. While not very much to look at(a simple bakery displaying cakes and confectionaries), the cake we got(which was WAY too big for us) was delicious. I didn’t think pineapple filling would be a thing I’d be that into, but thanks for Borinquen, I am. I’d go back.

last month i went to puerto rico and had this amazing pastry called a mallorca at the mallorca café in old san juan. when i saw the existing review for Borninquen i knew i had to go — and luckily it was on the way to the liquor store i was heading to, so it was an easy trip. I think I was in at around 11am and they were still very busy but unfortunately they had sold out of the Mallorcas but i bought some other pastries including the very nice and fluffy guava pastry and they were all inexpensive and delicious. Next time I will be stopping in earlier and hope to get a Mallorca.
