I would give zero stars if it weren’t for the waitress who tried so hard… My friend and I ordered fajitas and they came with a pile of onions and green peppers that were cooked in a watery tomato sauce, NOTSAUTÉD or grilled, just boiled. Bland taste and texture. Chicken and shrimp also received the same cruel and unusual punishment. I am amazed that In this day and age restaurants serve such bad food. One could get way better Mexican food in a fast Mexican food place at a fraction of the cost.

Sat down waiting for some water and tacos but sat there for 15 minutes without a single server(there were over 5 walking around) coming to our table. Made it obvious we needed service but they kept running in and out of the kitchen. Don’t bother going there on Monday(Taco Night).

Their computers were having problems, and that is understandable… what isn’t understandable is the stupidity their staff has. If your computer system is not working then go use your MOUTH to tell the cooks what needs to be cooked! We sat down at the table and the host immediately brought us chips. The waitress came over to take our drink order, but didn’t bring us water. We waited 10 minutes or more, and finally asked for some water from the host. The waitress came over after the host brought our water, and explained that the computer was having problems, so she had to tell the bar again about our drinks… She FINALLY asked what we wanted to order. It took her 15 – 20 minutes to even ask about any food orders! Now at this time we realize the computer is having problems, which shouldn’t be so much of an issue. YOUHAVE A MOUTH that can tell food orders to the chefs. I asked her about 10 minutes after we ordered food how long it would take, and she said at least 15 minutes. It doesn’t take that long to cook some ground beef for a taco salad… The table next to us turned around and asked why it was taking so long and what their issue was. They upped and left without getting any food orders, and they had been sitting there when we arrived. We have been here once before, and the food was below average with slow service. We wanted to give it a second chance since it is so close to where we live. We went to La Casita about 5 – 10 minutes away and food served almost right away. This is the LAST time I will TRY to eat here.

I wish I could give 0 stars! Poorly assembled, low-quality food… Slow service and the food is just as bland as a glass of water!

Good place to eat with reasonable prices and portions! Although I would venture to say that if you are looking for authentic Mexican food you won’t find that here. It’s a little bit«Americanized» but if that doesn’t matter to you then never mind! They also play good Reggaeton music which is cool if you’re in to that!

Love the seafood chimichangas. This place has a good mix of Mexican foods, is real generous with the chips and salsa, and there always seems to be a table open. We do to-go orders too and that always works well. This and Guiseppe’s Italian are the nearest sit down restaurants in the neighborhood. Smashburger is the next nearest another mile or so down the road. It’s nice to have a good reliable place close by.

We should have known better when the waiter couldn’t remember who got the water and who got the iced tea. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time but soon two other people were seated next to us. Our order was taken and about 5 or 10 minutes later our food was promptly given to the other table. One of them put his fork in the food at which point they said that this was not what they ordered. We said that’s okay and to take it back and make it over for us. 5 minutes later we were promptly given cold food that had been given to the other table. Yuck. It’s the first time we did not tip but we should have known better and just left. The better bet is La Casitas in Roseville on the corner of 35w and hwy 36. They never disappoint. The only other thing I can say is I wish I could rate this lower than 1 star.

Weren’t greeted… Even though the manager walked past us twice. So we asked a server if we could seat ourselves in the bar area. She said«yes.» Then we waited for 5 minutes, 2 wait staff and the manager again walked by us without any acknowledgement. So we left and no one noticed that we left.

This place is average I would say. The food is pretty typical of a Mexican restaurant. So if your looking for just some average Mexican food and not too bad Margaritas I would suggest here. The server was a little slow to get our drinks but other than that wasn’t too bad. Just a thing of guacamole is over five bucks so that’s kinda a rip off. Nothing about here is impressive but when I am in the mood for Mexican food I’ll come here again. It satisfies my cravings.

Much better than your typical Mexica food! Choice of sides included black beans, which had lots of flavor; seasonal vegetables which was steamed squash, zucchini, onions, corn, and black beans, very yummy; and side salad, which was green and red leaf lettuce. Nice surprise. Service was great and place was nice inside. Highly recommend!

We met there for birthday lunch for my wife. We have been fans of Acapulco for a long time, our first visit was years ago the first week they opened. I used to work in the area so lunch was almost a weekly tradition. Lunch yesterday was good as always. I had the lunch chimichanga, i love it cause it comes slathered in the their cheese sauce and I always get beans instead of rice because there is nothing better than dipping the warm tortilla chips in refried beans and cheese sauce. We are big fans of Acapulco.

I’ve been her half a dozen times in the last 12 months. Every time I go I say I’m not going back. the food is just disappointing. Tonight I ordered toquitos. It was just a couple bland pieces of chicken wrapped in a tortilla and deep fried. I had to break off big chunks of the tortilla which was over done to eat the toquito and it was just gross. The toquitos at SA are more enjoyable. I was fed up with the disappointment and told the manager I was not paying full price for them. I’m upset that she thought that nothing should be done about the food they’re cooking she just told me that’s what a toquito is ‘a little bit of meat in a 6″ tortilla.” She lectured me on how next time I should say something right away so they can bring me something else and not have to give me a discount. Once again I thought to myself, «I’m never coming back here» chipotle is so much better and it’s the same price with a beer two meals and chips and salsa.

Went in to enjoy a $ 5 margarita on weekday afternoon. Sat down and was served immediately. I had planned on ordering lunch but the bartender took off and I didn’t see him for a half hour. Also was never offered a menu, chips or anything. Another customer who came in grabbed a server after five minutes of waiting and asked for service. After two other customers across the bar finally found someone to close their tab I was offered a refill. I declined and paid my $ 5 for the drink. No tip. Unbeliveable.

Where to start? I’ll start with the good– the service was good. Our server was prompt with drinks, refills, and very pleasant. The food was the big letdown. The chips were stale, the salsa seemed to consist of canned crushed tomatoes(maybe they were fresh, couldn’t really say) with a little jalapeño seeds for heat. No onion, no cilantro. Hmmm. Not an auspicious start. I ordered two enchiladas, one beef, one chicken. The filling was good, the sauce poured on top was so-so. My refried beans were watery, could have used a spoon. My seasonal vegetables were interesting. Corn, black beans, red pepper, green beans, squash and zucchini. This could have been really good. Instead, the beans, squash and veggies had been left on the cooking surface too long, and were scorched. So the whole thing tasted like charcoal. Not adding this to my list of places to try again.

Monday night tacos were a weekly tradition for 6 years! I love Acapulco, their delicious food, cheap prices and unlimited chips and salsa. Although I’m sad I’m no longer able to attend on a weekly basis, I know that I can always return during any night of the week for some amazing tacos. Run…don’t walk… to your local Acapulco Mexican Restaurant.

I don’t think we’ll ever come back here. Our waitress was nice and always made sure we had a full supply of chips and beverages but that’s where the good things ended. The restaurant was pretty empty and it still took 30 minutes to get our food. During our wait, we had the pleasure of listening to the bartender and staff complain about other patrons and employees like no one was around. We also had the pleasure of listening to plates drop and break as well as cups always falling. The staff in the front was nice enough to scream to the back kitchen in response to each of the items falling. When our 2 salads(with a slice of garlic bread that looked and felt like it was left in a vat of butter) and wrap(which arrived more than 5 minutes after our salads) finally arrived, my boyfriend noticed his order was incorrect. After already waiting 30 minutes, there was no way he wanted to wait that long again. The manager came after our meal was over but hardly did anything to remedy the situation. My recommendation: go to Taco Bell or Chipotle. You’ll get better food for much less. You’ll also get what you ordered way quicker.

We went yesterday for dinner after doing the suburban mall thing and was really bummed out about the service! They had one server left, and there were maybe 4 – 5 tables, but most seemed to be already eating their dinners. We thought it was going to be good service when the person who sat us asked if we wanted a drink right away. I was actually kind of thrown off and just blurted out a soft drink because I hadn’t had a chance to look at the drink menu. It took about 10 minutes for our server to greet us, and she didn’t even say hello or sorry. «So, you ready to order?» We ordered the famous cheese dip and time went on… and then the hostess/manager? brought out our dinners. So I guess no cheese dip for us. Which is kind of depressing, because that’s the BEST thing there! She offered to pack it to go, but we just asked to not have it and take it off the bill. Our food was fine. My boyfriend prefers super hot food(temperature) and it was colder than he liked. Our server was fine, after the manager went back and probably told her that we didn’t get our cheese she came out and refilled our drinks, but never asked how our food was. She finally did, a little while later. I’m big on the 30 – 60 second check(as you can tell, I’ve served before). We got our soft drinks taken off the bill because of the wait, which was nice, I guess, but even after the late greeting the service was off par. It’s the risk we take when we eat later at night, but I think it could have been manageable. We may check out another location, or just stick to the cities for eating Mexican.

This place is my guilty pleasure. It’s pretty much like any Don Pablos in many ways. Mexican-American food is inherently awesome and hard to screw up, BUT, their white cheese sauce is something of a legend. Gooey, liquid heaven. I genuinely believe that putting that cheese sauce on anything would make it the best thing you ever ate. I actually bought a quart of it for a super bowl party — I pretended it was homemade, but then people started asking for the recipe and I had to fess up(not that I haven’t tried and failed). So basically I would say order aything on their menu that comes with cheese sauce and you won’t be disappointed.

How haven’t I written a review on this place? Seriously, I’ve been here about 6 times since the new year and I’ve been Unilocaling all that time. Sheesh. My favorite thing about this place is the huge beer you get for $ 4. And it complements all the food too! Their soft shell tacos are excellent if you want something light and portioned. Now to the important part, the Nachos Compuestos. I ordered these on my recent visit and if I rated on their nachos alone, I would only give it 2 stars. There was lots of toppings on it. In fact, too many toppings. I couldn’t find the chips and when I did they were soggy! I don’t know if they were thinking that I’d use the basket of chips that came when we sat down, or what. It just didn’t work for me. There was too much lettuce on it, they did use real cheese on it, so that’s a plus. But when it come to nachos, I’d prefer to go else where.

At least there was service! After leaving the Maplewood location, we drove the 9 minutes to New Brighton. Note — we waited longer at Maplewood for service than it took to drive somewhere else. Ordered tacos and a Corona Light. I’m irritated, we eat, limited amounts of chips since we’ve already had a basket, pay the bill and go. The server was nice enough and the food was hot and came out quick, but I’m sticking to Woodbury.
