So… decided to give this place a chance even though I read some not so great reviews about the service which I have to tell you really ticks me off and ruins my meal, but hey, everyone deserves a chance. WELL! — We were welcomed with the biggest most sweetest smile from our server, «Kailey»! She was attentive and made our lunch date so much more pleasant. My husband had a burger but wishes he had what I ordered, the Anticucho Pasta. The shish-ka-bobs of tenderloin, onion, and pepper are marinated perfectly and I guarantee you won’t leave any on the plate. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the pasta was a bit over cooked. Ask for«Kailey» when you go in… you’ll be glad u did! Just an update on Mozies as we can’t seem to stay away from this place. I would have to say we’ve been back at least 4x. Every time we get Anticucho Pasta again… it’s addicting! The servers can’t be more attentive too. So glad we found this place!

A little cramped inside but the food makes up for it. The sliders and fries are delicious.

Definitely have some menu favorites. Highly recommend the Meat Ball with pasta. Small and a bit noisy.

This is really a 3.5 This is the second time my girlfriends and I have come here on a Girls Weekend. The first time we came here we happened to try the The Big Dog and loved it! We tabbed over how delicious it was and how good the sauerkraut was. We finally came back and each ordered the same thing! The servers are just so so. Today our server, Destiny, seemed very pleasant but she brought our checks while we’re still eating. Why would you do that if you’re not leaving your shift?! That rubbed me the wrong way. No other table I could see(and I got up and looked) had their checks given while their food was still on the table. And there was no evidence of her leaving her shift. So… yeah…didn’t like that. But good food.

Very disappointed. I ordered Chicken Caesar Salad, chicken adds $ 2. My wife ordered Wedge Salad and asked waitress if she could add chicken to her’s as well and the waitress said«yes». We were shocked when we got the bill and the chicken was a $ 6 add on! We asked to speak to the manager and he was easily the rudest and most unfriendly manager I have ever encountered in over 30 years of travel. I’m a New Braunfels resident, but I’ll never go back to Mozies.

We’ve been for beverages in past, but stopped for dinner before a show at the Hall recently. The portions appeared smaller than pictured. Food was described better than delivered plate, but as overpriced for what you get. Location is only plus. There are so many more enjoyable places in Gruene, so save the extra cash and pass on Mozie’s, is our opinion. Disappointed!

This place used to have pretty good food. Went last night before a concert, very unimpressed. Fish tacos where soggy, burger wasn’t near what it used to be. Waited till our food was served to give us waters. Come On guys, you weren’t even crowded.

Great place to hang out and eat delicious food! Drinks are pretty pricey, but the food is stick to your ribs great. The restaurant is small and can get really crowded on weekend nights. If your claustrophobic I suggest going on a week day.

Really good! Got chips and salsa and the kabobs to share. The chips were warm and the salsa was awesome, spicy! The kabob was delicious too, cooked and seasoned really well.

This place was decent. I think I just ordered the wrong food items. The bartender recommended I get the beef kabobs or the fish tacos, but instead I went with the sliders with a side of garlic fries. The sliders were supposed to be medium rare, however mine were just rare. The beef was super raw in the middle, but nevertheless, I survived! The flavor was there. The garlic fries were really greasy. The sliders were really greasy too, for that matter. We visit Gruene several times a year and we will be back to try their fish tacos. They deserve another try.

This place is consistently good… except the waitress yesterday that let our waters go dry… The burgers are really good and could stand alone at a burger joint. The other foods all seem to be just as good. Get the skinny fries with garlic… they may be the best use of a potatoe ever. They also have a full bar and a very small craft beer selection.

Right in the heart of Gruene — across from Gruene Hall! Don’t expect a light meal here! While it’s known for its sliders, vegetarians can order nachos, AMAZING Shiner Bock onion rings, DELICIOUS skinny fries, and a «Grown Up Grilled Cheese Sandwich,» with smoked Gouda, spinach, and tomato! Check it out before a show at Gruene Hall!

Mozie’s is really great food — It’s a smaller place, but everything is really well tended to: Waitstaff, food, drinks, etc. I had the rueben and it was so super tasty — sourdough bread, thinly sliced meat, really great kraut, and a side dip for your sauce. I was only able to make it halfway through the sandwich before I was stuffed. Quality portions. Only caveat is that you cannot order a half sandwich(on a few of the others you can). My sister had the large chopped salad — which was HUGE. Unless you’re just really really really hungry, you can probably just eat the smaller portion. I mean, it came with THREE pieces of bread! Yowza. On the flip side, if you’re a fan of taking home leftovers, this is totally the meal for you! Food is also well priced — you get a great value for what you order. And it tastes freshly made. Double bonus!

Stopped by here after a trip to schlitterbahn and 1st off this area Gruene was very nice. Real old type area with bunch of antiques already a great start. Décor and setup in restraunt was real nice quiet and calm with dim lighting unusual for a bar but exceptionally fine for me. I got the ½ cheeseburger with thin fries and onion rings. I’m a sucker for a great burger and this was no dissapointnent. Very big and juicy real cheesy and flavorful hadn’t had a burger like that in a while. Also the meat was homeade not that frozen premade patties you sometimes get. Chips and salsa appetizer was also great real good. Great place in all and will defiantly be going back when in the area!

Just wanted to get a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon in Gruene and what a lovely place to do so! Mozie’s is probably one of the better places in Gruene. It’s small, local, and very casual. The restaurant itself is located across from the gristmill and on the end corner, kind of near the general store. The service was awesome. Very polite, attentive, and quick. Now for the food, it is DEEELICIOUS! Although a small but well varied menu, the quality of the food was just great. Everything was fresh and you could tell hadn’t been sitting under a heat lamp, microwaved, or reheated in an oven. I ordered the Cobb salad and lemme tell you, get the«junior» size and do your self a favor unless you plan on sharing. The regular size is HUGE. But none the less, super tasty. And the onion rings are to die for. Mozie on over and get some good tasting food!

I like Mozie’s better than a lot of the other options in Gruene. The food is great and the service is usually fast. Last Friday I stopped in for a quick bite-my friend had a burger and I had the kebob appetizer-they were both delicious. What wasn’t delish? The«bloody marys» that we got. I literally gagged at how thick the drink was-four of us ordered and not one of us finished more than a ¼. They tasted like straight-thick tomato juice. We ordered beer instead. Everything else is great-Mozie’s please get a better Bloody Mary!!!

Solid 3. I’m sure it’ll bump up some once I try other items. Came here for lunch with a buddy of mine. Glad he brought me here. Dig the layout, smaller bar/restaurant, slender/vertical floorplan. Rustic yet polished. Gruene, Texas, of course. I had to be lame and get the Meatballs and Pasta, minus the meat and diary lol. The side salad was so-so, nothibg to go crazy for. Seemed like a standard lettuce mix from BEK or Sysco, with a standard Italian dressing. The angel hair and red sauce were pretty tasty, though. I can’t wait to come back when I’m off of sabbatical. I heard their burgers and fish tacos are freaking delicious. Service was okay. Nothing wow. Not bad, just was what it was. Never caught our server’s name. I dunno, guess I always find it a tad weird when people/staff(especially servers) don’t introduce themselves. I’ll usually ask to get the ball rolling, just didn’t this time since I was catching up with my friend. Like I said, can’t wait to stop in again and try some more items at this cool spot.

The garlic fries!!! Those fries — a huge heap of perfectly crispy shoestring fries, topped with tons of garlic and grated parm — are what keeps me coming back to Mozie’s every time I’m in Gruene. The fish tacos are really good, as are the Shiner onion rings, but the kitchen seems completely incapable of cooking a burger to a point where it at least stops moo’ing — even if you, for instance, stress that you’ve had issues with undercooked meat from them in the past, and are in fact paying with a gift card that the manager comped you with for sending you off on a previous visit with a to-go order of raw beef, and stress that you’d like the beef WELL done… mooooo! No bueno. They might as well just call it carpaccio on the menu — i give up on «sliders». Mozie’s also pushes out a decent rocks margarita. I know this only because I asked the waitress for a craft or local beer, only to be told, with annoying pep, «oh of course.. We have Shiner! «No thanks. But those fries though!
