Chicken Express

Best catfish in New Braunfels. Call ahead if you are in a hurry. They told me it takes about 6 minutes to cook and they usually don’t have any ready to go.

Been eating here since it opened but things have really gone downhill I called in an order and waited the suggested time the chicken we picked up was soggy. If this was a one time thing I would just let it be but this is the standard of late. I always call in as I like my gizzards and okra extra crispy. I don’t mind waiting if it is done right but waiting for soggy stuff makes me very unhappy.

Man o man! Delicious, extraordinarily crispy, fried chicken that has amazing crunch and succulent meat on the inside. Biscuits are no joke either, flakey on the outside, and moist on the inside, highly recommended!

Regulars at this location. Usually get the catfish. A little salty but still good. Always nice and hot. Good friendly service. Have moved to canyon lake so now I really miss this place.

Livers and Catfish were wow today, lightly breaded, moist, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken tenders were spot on, however, I did not like the watery white gravy. The biscuits were fresh baked and light and airy. I love fried livers only when they are not hard and overdone, which these today were not.

The food here is pretty good and if it isn’t then don’t be afraid to say so! On several occasions I have gone and the hotness/​freshness wasn’t there but I always brought this to their attention and they happily attended to it.
People shouldn’t have to just deal with warm food, everything should be perfection! You worked hard for that $ 5 snack pack, it better be HOT!
This location is always clean and staff are friendly.

On both trips I was greeted as I entered the door and welcomed with a smile. My order was taken quickly, and handed over the counter fast. The chicken is lightly breaded, and fried just right, not over or under cooked and mouthwatering, juicy and delicious ! The biscuts were cooked just right, flaky, buttery and melt in your mouth good. The only sides we tried were the mashed potatos and corn fritters and both were great. The dining area and restrooms were both sparkling clean.
Bottom line I have paid top dollar for fried chicken in fancier sit down and order restaraunts that havn’t compared to this fantastic fast food joint !!! If you are looking for some really tasty ceap eats, give it a try.

This place has great Fried chicken, tenders, surprisingly great catfish, great gizzards, and awesome crunchy hot wings. But the service stands out above competitors not to name names (Holy chicken) OR (Sailors Chicken) if you catch my drift. When the line is getting long they don’t tell you to pull out of the way or drive around and they will bring it to you. They take the orders that are done to the cars behind you so they can leave. I have seen them send out 4 people at the same time to car hop the orders so every customer is happy and gets out quick. Now that is some D@^n good service. But beyond all that, the food is great and the portions are obviously bigger than the «unnamed» competitors.

Can’t believe I’m giving 4 stars to fast food. But when it’s right, it’s right. Look, the chicken is always perfect. The staff is always awesome. And the sweet ice tea is better than Bill Miller’s. In my office we lovingly call it, Chicken Bucket. When someone is making a Chicken Bucket run, you better grab me some corn nuggets son!

I’m in luv with Chicken Express, but this joint got sum shady workers. I went and got the 4-​piece, and ended up with only 3 tenders, and not a lot fries. Not gonna count them out the 1^st time around and I’m obsessed with their tenders. Besides, they’re far better than Bush’s.

Got the hankering for some good fried chicken. This place is as good as it gets. Its is always fresh. They have tenders that are out of this world. You can get 3 tenders for $ 3.99 with a side. And their tea is my favorite. They do tend to go a little heavy on the ice. So if you like more tea than ice make sure to tell them to go easy. One of my favorite places.

Chicken Express is such a great alternative to KFC, Churches or Popeyes. They offer a home style menu and chicken breading. Love their fried okra (southern tradition!) will take a little time to wait since they make it fresh. Enough about their chicken, I Love their CORN NUGGETS! What are they you ask? They’re nugget size balls of cream of corn surrounded in this sweet batter and fried to perfection! Chicken Express introduced these delish treats to my belly, who is a corn fanatic! Just stop by for their refreshing southern style iced tea in this Texas heat :) Don’t forget to take Jalapenos with your order. Nothing beats Jalapeño +Fried Chicken, something about that combination makes me so happy :)
