I did not visit this place YET. But any place with 3 ½ or more stars on Unilocal(3 stars minimum) is good in my book… A was looking for nearby place(my wife and I recently purchased condo on preserve in New Albany for our retirement near grandkids) to take my almost 40YO daughter for her 1st time shooting. So I searched New Albany, OH area and find this gem. I live in Bay Area, CA — SF neighborhood & I call them on phone. I want to verify that they rent guns etc. plus to get info how to legally move my guns(ex special forces member) from CA to OH. They were very knowledgeable and patient with me. I’m definitely looking forward to visit this neighborhood store on my next visit to Ohio this summer!

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon at 3PM to shoot a few rounds of ammo. Longline inside and the help had absolutely no idea how to move a crowd through. They trying to blame at that their credit card machine was down but the credit card had nothing to do with it they just were not organized. We waited a half hour just to get checked in and then were passed over for other people I just walked in the door. We will never return as they don’t know how to handle a crowd

I kind of find the place to be expensive. I met my brother and his wife there. 1 person range fee $ 22 and $ 9.95 for each additional person wow drop $ 42 before shooting, then we all had to watch a 5 min video on safety. I get it but what i don’t get, they give you an ID card which cost $ 3.00 each(something else in my wallet). Most places i have been to input your name into the computer and when you come back they ask have you been here before and you say yes. You tell them your name and BAM your on your way. So will i be back probably not. Being from Cleveland, i have been to many ranges in Cleveland that are comparable to Aimhi and i have never spent $ 52 for 3 people to shot.

Had an AWFUL time at Blackwing shooting center trying to get somebody under 21 but above 18 to shoot a handgun… If you live inside of Columbus do not waste your time going there, instead head over to AimHi. They made me fill out an extra paper stating I take responsibility for him and made us watch the video(5 mins not bad) and we were on the range. Range was nice and the people there were pretty friendly. I wouldn’t say they were like over friendly but then again I wasn’t there to chitchat was there to shoot guns, nobody was the slightest bit rude.

By far the best place to take a first time shooter. They make you feel very comfortable and the staff is non threatening. They just live to talk about guns. It is very expensive in my opinion. But you pay for comfort and security.

Very nice facility. Professional, friendly staff. You know what I really LOVE about this place? The fact that they make you watch a safety video before you shoot. I have been shooting guns since I was a wee child, and grew up in a very safety oriented home as far a guns are concerned. But there are lots of people who come in off the street with zero experience, and I seriously think its a good thing that they have you watch the video. I love shooting, but people who are cavalier about safety are a big turn off for me.(If you’re a member, you can get certified so you don’t have to watch the video) There are two ranges, a pistol range, and a rifle range. Indoor rifle ranges are a bit rare, so that’s very cool. All of the equipment was clean and well serviced. There is a good size lounge area outside the ranges that has vending machines and coffee, with windows looking in the ranges. Another thing I LOVE about this place: Excellent ventilation. Shooting weapons creates quite a bit of smoke. I have mild asthma, and I’m somewhat sensitive to it. This place has a heavy duty ventilation system. In some ranges, I leave feeling like my chest is really tight. None of that here. I have only been here once, but my first impression was very positive. Clean, professional, with high quality equipment.

I was pretty impressed with this place! The membership fee is a little steep, especially if you can’t get there during the week for free shooting but the facility is nice and so are the people working there!

I just completed a 20 hour firearm course here and was very impressed with these guys. Bill and Scott were as good as it gets; never boring, fun and funny, informative, salt of the earth guys. The sales staff were more than accomodating when I needed them. The gun range is up to date, secure and professionally operated. The class was set in an outbuilding so you aren’t distracted with the come and go customers… very well planned layout. Highly recommend.

NASR is a very impressive facility in a good neighborhood. The staff are all very friendly, patient, outgoing and are entirely free of the gun store weirdo factor. The store is clean, comfortable, and well lit. They have lots of books, hands on demos of accessories(such as safes) and product literature. I’d say without question that any woman in town looking to buy her first firearm and/or seek CCW training either for sport or self-defense, that this is the place. The Powder Room is unfortunately kind of a dump, and Vance’s is pretty high on the creepazoid quotient. The range is pretty epic. It’s clean, very well lit and ventilated. All six pistol lanes were in use when I was there.(there is also a dedicated indoor rifle range. sweet) Not a whiff of gunpowder could be detected. They outstanding sound proofing and it was a steady comfortable 70 degrees inside. You can dial in the exact distance for your target, and it’ll zip down the lane to your preset. No guessing. Very cool. NASR doesn’t pay lip service to safety. Non-members are required to watch a safety video which is concise and manner of fact. They have annual memberships available, which is a bit of sticker shock($ 250) but you get unlimited weekday range privileges for you and a guest and discounted weekend/holiday time. Next visit I’m scratching an item off my bucket list. For $ 30 bucks you can fire a clip through the Heckler & Koch MP5! «Everyone loves to fondle full auto» ~ Ted Nugent

I was here on Sunday, around 2 pm. I was a guest of member(s), so I didn’t have to pay anything for the lane or rental fees. I watched the 15 minute safety video and paid the $ 4.95 to get a laminated card saying I’d done so, so that I don’t have to watch it again for 2 years. :) The store set –up is nice. There are two ranges, one for pistol and one for rifle. The rifle range had six lanes, I’m assuming the pistol did as well. As mentioned in the previous review, the target range is controlled by a computer, you just punch in the distance and it goes. I had rental glasses and ear protection. Both were in good condition and clean.(They have a cleaning station for such, if you feel the need) The rest of the space at Aim-Hi is dedicated equipment you’d need to shoot. Guns, ammo, targets, accessories, novelties… you name it, they probably sell it. You can rent guns to shoot, but you must purchase ammo from them to do it. With your own guns, you can shoot your own ammo, but no steel casings and no armor piercing stuff(duh). My chaperones were especially cordial and let me shoot their guns with their ammo(which was a lot of freaking fun, btw). If you want, they even have(and I’m going off of my bad memory here of what my chaperone told me) a machine gun of some sort where you can blow $ 80 in about 30 seconds emptying a clip. It’s my understanding that a range employee is with you at all times during this, but as far as life experiences go, it would be pretty damn cool! I had a great time, the staff was nice and seemed to be knowledgeable and genuinely interested in their job. They do a pretty steady business, there was only one empty lane on the rifle side the two hours we were there(pistol side was full, which is how we ended up on rifle). I’ll definitely be going back. I had a blast(no pun intended!).

Ever need to REALLY blow off some steam? For less than $ 50 so can unload a few boxes of ammo on one of NASR’s rental guns after a short five minute safety video. As far as ranges go(only been to a few before) this is pretty good. Safe, fun, and the staff knows their guns. I renting a sig 9, S&W 45 and a .22 revolver(for the wife) and we both had fun dropping 3 boxes of ammo into some paper targets. The target system is digital, so you know your range is accurate. Definitely will be back here again, and recommend it to anyone else as well.
