This is the kind of little mom and pop shop I could see myself frequenting if I lived in tiny Nevada City. They’re half a block from downtown, which isn’t saying much since the downtown is only about three square blocks. Here, you’ll get sandwich and various sundry. It’s corner store service with a smile and a great selection… as long as you’re not in a hurry. My group of five was headed up for a day on the river and decided to pop in for some sandwiches to go. The shop was dead empty, so we figured this would be a speedy affair. After putting in our orders and ringing up armfuls of chips and additional snacks, we waited. And waited. Almost half an hour later, our sandwiches came out from some mysterious back kitchen. I was curious as to why they didn’t have a setup at the deli counter where you could watch the sandwiches be created like pretty much every other deli I’ve visited. The sandwich itself was decent. I had a version of a BLT that used fresh ingredients but wasn’t any different than something I could have made myself. In conclusion: friendly folks, a great store for small goods, slow sammy service!

Excellent deli! Sandwiches made to order. Lettuce fresh, bread outstanding! I had Black Forest ham and smokey cheddar on wheat, with all the trimmings! Thought the prices were reasonable for the sandwiches, chips and sodas! Will go there again when in Nevada City!

Yay! Finally a market worth going to for something other than liquor and cigarettes in downtown NC! The day that Pine Street Market Closed was a sad day for all of us. The building was empty for YEARS and then has had a few meager attempts at a shop to fill its shell. It was very disappointing. Not anymore. They have a nice selection of snacks(including lots of organic things) and beverages. Little things you may need like toilet paper, shampoo, cat food etc. Also, a cute little corner with handmade candles, local wine and other neat bits. AND there is a deli counter where you can order great food for a great price. Sometimes the consistency of the food waxes and wanes from awesome to good to pretty good. I think it is always worth it. The employees are great and the owner is super nice. Yes, I like this market indeed. Go in, get a Carolina sandwich and a Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy(lemon flavored beer). Grab a coconut butterscotch bar thing from the counter,(I can’t remember what they are called, but they are glorious) and leave a happy customer.

I want to roll around naked in their pulled pork and eat it off of my own body, everyday. Harmony Ridge is the best thing to happen to downtown Nevada City. Great food. Great coffee. Great service. The employees are helpful and just plain nice. Grocery section has nice selection for quick pick ups and beer/wine. Fab. I thank you.

The owners really care about making this a community market… Just what downtown Nevada City needs! Stop by when you are hungry, for a quick lunch, or pick up some groceries for dinner. I love it when peop le who actually know our town and have lived in our town start a local business… Cynthia Y.
