Avante

I have been going to Avante for 12 or more years, and I would not go anywhere else! It is the warmest, kindest group of women who give amazing hair cuts, color, relaxing etc. Suzanne is especially talented, and I love the way she cuts my thick wavy/​curly hair. Kelly and Sue run a terrific business and I highly recommend everyone at Avante hair salon!

I have tried numerous salons in the Wellesley and Needham area and Avante is by far my favorite. Irene listens to exactly what type of cut or style you want. The salon has almost a spa like feel because it is so peaceful and relaxing. I always leave feeling happy with my cut and looking forward to my next visit.

Went for the first time today for foils and a cut. Macayla did an awesome job, I will definitely make this my regular spot.
Nice set up, very clean and most importantly I got exactly what I wanted in a haircut and color.

My mom followed Susan here probably 12 years ago, maybe more, and needless to say it’s still the best salon, with the most highly skilled stylists in the area. Worth the drive of you’re coming from out of town!

Let me start by saying I am very particular about my hair and I do not have easy hair to cut. I have very thick hair and many stylists really do not know how to cut thick fhair. I have been going to Avante since I moved back to this area which I believe is now four times in total. My hair cuts have been amazing. Kelly has been cutting my hair. She always checks in with me to see if I had any problems since the last cut or any concerns. Kelly takes the time to ask what I would like. I get a hair cut and blow dry. My hair comes out great each time and it grows out very well — keeping its shape and looking lovely. I think my favorite part of the salon is that they do not try and up sell me a bunch of other services and products.
My time at the salon is relaxing and I come out feeling great. The salon has good hours, plenty of parking in the lot over to the side or off street parking.

I followed Susanne here when she moved from another salon (8 years ago???) and love Avante because it’s relaxing, you aren’t in an enormous spot with dozens of people zooming by creating all sorts of distractions, etc.
Susanne has been cutting my hair for about 17 years, and only twice in all that time has someone else cut my hair, which is pretty amazing considering I lived 440 miles away for 16 months. Kelly (one of the owners) was the one who cut my hair, and she knows that I like «just a trim, nothing crazy» and will even then look on the floor to make sure there isn’t too much gone (of course, after it’s cut, it’s really too late, right?).
Easy to book appointments, there is a big lot next door by the FedEx store with free parking, or lots of meters on the street.

My entire family goes here and we love it! The stylists are all very good. My daughter goes to Michaela who always gives her a fantastic cut and does all of the fun, hip twists like feathers (two years ago) and a pink streak. She also braids her hair at the end. My two boys go to Susan who has also done my hair. My boys have tough hair to cut with lots of cowlicks, but Susan always does a great job and even talked them into buzz cuts, which makes maintenance so much easier. I usually see Suzanne for foils and cut. I get lots of compliments on my hair. When Suzanne isn’t available, I see Susan who also does an amazing job. My husband sees Lauren. He is extremely particular but has been going to her for years now and always looks good. Thank you, Avante!

This salon clearly cares more about making money than it does providing quality service. My stylist hurried through the cut and rushed me out the door. Hair cuts are supposed to be an enjoyable experience, and mine was anything but. Three stars though because the cut is decent. I’ll be going elsewhere in the future for a more relaxing atmosphere.
