Good sushi decent price. It’s a small laid back spot the spicy tuna salad I had was amazing I love it. Sushi was nice and fresh service was good no complaints on my end.

This place is a local gem. I was a traveler from South Korea, who visited SD. One of my local friend introduced this place to me, in which I can have really good dinner. Rolls are famous in Korea too, but I’ve never had such delicious rolls of this restaurant before even in Korea.(I had a Jalapeño bomb roll) Salmon sashimi was also perfect. Fresh and delicious. Couldn’t be better. What a perfectly glossy flesh it was! You should try this. Foods are pretty good.(I had Jalapeño bomb roll and salmon sashimi, but other plates in menu was looked so nice) Price range is 7~15 $ per person. Quite reasonable. The server was pretty kind and did her best but looked busy a little bit. The place is so spacious and so comfortable. Shortly, there is no reason not to go.

My fiend and I tried this place for the first time. Clean place and friendly staff. We shared the Jalapeño Bomb and an Awesome Roll with a green salad, both delicious! Great to know we have a good sushi bar in our neighborhood.

Tried this place for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Like most Sushi places, it was a bit pricey but they are not shy on portions. I was actually surprised how the rolls came out. They were a lot bigger than I expected. I got the the Vegas Roll and Crunchy Shrimp Roll and it was absolutely delicious. The miso soup was good but I wish the size of the bowl was bigger. It was almost like a free sample size from Costco. If you do get a drink that isn’t water, refills are not free. The service was a little slow which didn’t make any sense because my girlfriend and I were the only ones there lol I can’t imagine what the service is like when it’s busy haha but at least the servers were nice. But other than that, this place is definitely worth trying. Maybe come here once in a while haha

My first time here on a rainy Tuesday night, one hour before closing time. Few people in there. Some of the reviews were good, some were not so good. This place is okay. Only had water and sodas to drink, no alcohol. Ordered tonkotsu ramen and the basic jalapeño bomb toll and California crunch roll. To be honest, had better sushi elsewhere, but I might go back again to try different sushi rolls. However, ramen, wasn’t a fan of theirs. Would rather pay $ 2 more and drive further to get some at Tajima. Lol. But it was okay, nice waitress. Food was fresh. Ramen, not my favorite. Will go back for a second try on sushi rolls.

Food was as expected. We ordered sushi and galbi and both tasted good. Nothing spectacular but good nonetheless. Service was extremely poor though. Only one lady serves the whole restaurant and she is not efficient at all. We spent over an hour and a half just trying to eat dinner and our food was very easy to prepare. We waited over 15 minutes just to get our final check.

Spur of the moment just seeing where i could eat on christmas night and ended up down the street from my mom house where i always just drive past and never think of trying. Me and my fam go all the way out to clairemont for sushi and now there is this gem right in national city who would have thought?! I came in 30 min before closing and they were super nice and understanding instead of making me feel rushed like other places normally do. Food came out fast and tasted very good! I will definitely be coming back with my fam

It’s always a pleasure to come back here and dine again. Dropped by last week about an hour before they closed, and the service was still excellent and there was no rush to order. Ended up with some hot green tea(trying to get over being sick) along with some appetizers, some rolls, and ramen. The tamago sashimi was really good, in addition to the tonkotsu ramen. Food arrived quickly, and our overall bill ended up being really low. Thanks once again for a wonderful dining experience!

Let me start by saying that this place needs AC for being a place that serves fish, let alone Raw fish. It was very muggy and hot inside and it just made the visit uncomfortable. The food was pretty good. I would recommend a lunch special or happy hour. I tried the duncan roll which is a philly roll with salmon and a dash of spicy mayo on top. This roll is seriously my favorite of all time tho. I dunno what they did to it but this place made me crave Philly roll all week. I also tried the jalepeno bomb roll which was a little too big of a portion. I couldn’t bite into it because it was too overwhelming. The jalepeno poppers and baked mussels were good. Food quality is good. Location is good. Restaurant itself is roomie, kid friendly and welcoming. They just need to adjust the temperature inside and include a happy hour.

This little Sushi spot is pretty tasty.(If you’re in the area) We ordered so much food, I suppose the waitress got confused, because she brought us someone else’s roll. The service is a basic, «you get what you pay for» I suppose. There was no real organization in serving patrons who were there first… Hence the roll mix up. But besides the«absent minded» service, the food was tasty and the restaraunt offers a pleasantly quiet ambiance for your sushi experience.

Best sushi in town! Yes… better than Deli, Harneys and RA. The rolls here are big, fresh and so tasty. The service is great, fast and the prices are fair. No annoying lines. The ramen is also amazing and better than the over hyped ramen joints in North Park that make you drink out of the bowl. I love this place and am glad it’s 5 min from my place.

It is only my second time here and their food tastes great! Today I ordered the Awesome Roll and Deluxe Eel Roll — both delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very chill and gives a relaxing feel. They have music playing in the background and I love listening to music when I’m eating a meal. Parking is very limited in their private lot, but there’s always side street parking. I also like the color of the interior and the items on their menu look all amazing. The only thing I would recommend to the restaurant is to tell their employees to smile more. Overall, really good sushi place in National City!

How this place has 4 stars is beyond me, but because of that fact my girlfriend and I wandered into this place with the best intentions… We were sorely disappointed. To start there is no actual sushi bar, so no interaction with the chefs. The sushi used poor quality ingredients and even worse execution. We ordered 3 rolls: The rainbow roll uses low quality assorted fish and was further ruined by a weird soy based sauce on top. The Delux Eel roll’s eel was burnt up top. The Crunchy shrimp roll was soggy and maybe still the best out of the 3 rolls we ordered. The pieces are quite large and the price is good but the foods quality just wasn’t there. We only ate half of each roll and decided to call it quits. The service also left something to be desired but wouldn’t have been to big of a deal had the food been better. I don’t see this place being in business very long. Also more then half their sushi rolls are described as «California roll +insert random fish +spicy mayo or spicy mustard.»

I have very little today on this because my message is so straight forward: if you want the best sushi you can find for the very best price, CONGRATULATIONS! You just found it. Seriously, this sushi compares to the best LA sushi.

Review for the ramen only. I know the name of this place is Sushi & Galbi but my personal mantra(as well as Underbelly’s) is «ramen is life» so of course I HAD to try the one thing not on the marquee. Needless to say the broth for my soy ramen wasn’t that great, the noodles were subpar, and the pork was like actually bbq’d(complete with grill marks). Skip the ramen. I tried some of my friend’s sushi and that was pretty awesome. The service was great however and the place wasn’t too busy so next time I’ll just order sushi…

I stopped in Sushi and Galbi for an early dinner after work. I ordered a few items, including the salmon and tuna cut rolls served on a board, a pair of albacore tuna sushi, and some regular fried chicken wings. The cut rolls were good, a little haphazardly put together, but good. I especially enjoyed the tuna cut roll with their rich tuna. The salmon was good and had good fatty line that provided a nice smooth texture. As usual, these rolls were very good with a touch of wasabi and a quick bath in soy. Good cut rolls. The chicken wings were crispy and fried to a golden brown. Although the chicken inside was tender and moist and tasted good, the breading outside really needed some seasoning. It was very plain, and a sprinkling of salt right out of the fryer would of gone a long way. The albacore tuna was very mild and in flavor with a light smooth texture as well. It was not as rich as the red tuna and salmon, but it was mildly firm and easy to eat in this manner. Just a touch soy was good on this piece given its delicate features. Service was very laid back, but pleasant. I did however needed to get up and go asked for some ginger, ginger that they forgot to deliver to my table.

A great addition for the area. Brand new location. Layout is a little whacky with the 2 long bars to sit at. They should get rid of one or both of them and put some 2 seat tables in. Got the seaweed salad and miso ramen. The seaweed salad was excellent. Large portion with lot of seaweed with pickled carrot and cucumbers. The dressing made this tasting just right and the perfect amount not over powering. The ramen hit the table and didn’t look that good to me. The broth grew on me quickly with some pepper. Noodles were respectable and the pork blew me away. Can’t believe such great pork is coming out of a sushi place. I would of tried some sushi but it was kind of dirty in here. The tables and chairs weren’t wiped down. I think once they get settled in, this is going to be a great place.

Came here tonight to try a new local restaurant. I was conflicted about giving it 3– or 4-stars, but my boyfriend said he rates it a 3.7, so we’ll rate it up. I think this restaurant has a lot of opportunity to improve and they’re really new, so I don’t want to be too quick to judge. The restaurant has been open about a month. We ordered vegetable tempura, fried gyoza, the Awesome roll, and tonkotsu ramen. The vegetable tempura(6 piece) was pretty good, but I wish there had been more variety in terms of what veggies were served. There were two pieces of onion, two pieces of broccoli, one green bean, and I’m not sure what the other one was. It was green, so maybe zucchini? I wish they had carrots or sweet potato in the mix. The fried gyoza were good, it was 5 – 6 pieces(can’t remember exactly), but the gyoza were pretty small. The Awesome roll was a California roll with cooked/smoked salmon on top with eel or teriyaki sauce and spicy mayo. The roll was pretty good. 8 pieces for $ 7.50, so it was very decently priced. My boyfriend got the ramen and decided to get the tonkotsu ramen. He said it was very bland, which is really disappointing because they’re all pork broths at this restaurant, which means they should be high in fat = more flavorful. I asked if we could get a side of the miso paste to stir into the broth, but the waiter didn’t now what I was talking about. He said I could order miso soup for $ 1.50, but that’s not what I wanted. They have a miso ramen, which is the only reason I asked for a miso paste because that’s usually how they make miso ramen. They scoop the miso paste into a bowl and mix their broth with it. Stir it up and you have miso ramen. I would have been willing to pay extra for a scoop of the miso paste, but oh well. Later the kid told me it was his first day, so maybe he just wasn’t familiar with it. Not sure. Everything came out to $ 25.05 with tax minus the tip. Pretty good price I think for a sushi roll, two appetizers, and a bowl of ramen. It’s nice because it’s only a mile or two away from where we live, so we’re not having to hop on the freeway to grab some sushi. I think their establishment could fit even more people, the layout is not very efficient in terms of making the most of the space they have. They have two bar counters, but I think the stools are too high because it looked like everyone was hunched over. I think their sushi has a lot of potential, so that’s mostly what the 4-stars are for. The service was great, but they were definitely understaffed. It was the kids first day and he was the only one there serving an establishment that easily seats 30 people. My boyfriend said he’d definitely come back to try out the sushi, so until next time!
