First time trying Filipino food. I had their chunky asado siopao and lumpias and they were both delicious. Very clean location. Service was good. Will definitely be coming back to try their other delicious looking options.

Food is great but the manager here doesnt know how handle a customer at all. When she asked for my orders, she wasnt even looking at me nor greeted me. And when my food was ready, she just said«here!» She was very rude and the whole time she was talking to her coworkers how to get a cheap resort in the philippines.

Came in @ 8:15 ordered garlic chicken lauriat but i was told by May Kimberly that they are not serving garlic chicken at the moment bec the oil is being drained from the fryer… In my head they should have done it later or one fryer at a time so they can use one… I was offered chinese style fried chicken since it was sitting there for who knows how long. Decided to order lomi… Kimberly apologized and said they are not serving lomi at the momemt… What the heck is going on! No food is available because they were too busy cleaning so they could shut the place down hella early… The heck with the customers! Poor customer service

For those that don’t know about Chowking, it’s a popular fast food chain in the Philippines that serves Filipino food as well with some Chinese inspired dishes. Since this a Filipino favorite, when in California, it’s a place to visit to take you back the Philippines. The food is pretty consistent on what you would get back in the motherland. They serve breakfast plates throughout the day, soups, dimsums, other rice plates and savory desserts and drinks. You can never go wrong with their breakfast plates since they come with rice, egg and either pork or fish. I’m not that big of a fan of their soups but there’s beef noodle soup. My go orders also include their siopao(BBQ pork steamed bun), and the lumpia shanghai(skinny eggrolls), great for all ages! And if you still have room in your belly, getting a halo-halo(ice cream, condensed milk, and jelly) or taho(they sell out quick) are Filipino favorites to try as well. This location however can do a better job in cleaning their place up, very sticky and seemed like everyone was so busy behind the counter that no one was paying attention at all to the dining area. The workers also seemed rattled when the line kept growing.

Masyado mataas ihi ng isang employada dito. Jusko iha. You have better learn to be better with customer service. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to be served like how you served us. This chick doesn’t make eye contact, didn’t even smile when she greeted us. She took my credit card in a rude way and slammed my card on the counter after I paid. I was just like«are you good?» I’m just trying to order. I came in smiling and stuff and this one cashier wants to act like she doesn’t want to take our orders. Get another job if you don’t like the current job you have right now. You might be having a bad day but that doesn’t mean you have to bring that to work. Rant over, 1 star.

This girl Erica have no customer service at all. No eye contact, no smile, no thank yous. looks tired or(lazy?) just really rude to me. But she had huge smile and«HI» to a «guy» that came after me. Maybe she know the guy? Maybe she don’t like women customers? not sure.

I go here often to satisfy the cravings of a preggy woman. Most of the time I’d get my Congee fix. I’ve never had any bad encounters with servers in the past as most of them are really nice. To be honest I am always nice to people in the customer service field cause I’ve been there too so I know how it feels. But this guy named«Harold» does not seem to practice good customer service. I kinda figured he’s not just a regular employee as he was dressed different than the others and he talked to other employees as if to rub it in their face that«he’s the boss.» My first choice of meal wasn’t available and in fact, that’s my husband choice, so i have to just void that and just get my own order and figured that i would just make a new order once he arrives as I don’t want to be the cause of delay for other customers waiting in line. I was assisted by the other girl that time. I called my husband and asked what’s his new order. So he choose the breakfast meal instead. Now«Harold» took my order, not looking pleased, not making eye contact, and acting like he’s in a hurry where in fact, I was the only customer in line. He didn’t even asked me if I wanted a drink with that meal. He then told me he can’t swipe my card because I already made an order earlier. That’s how the system works according to him. He said that I can use a different card, but then I chose not to because I already felt neglected and mistreated. I still would give 2 stars for the other staff that does their job well and for my food cravings which they have, congee!

Ordered 2 garlic chicken Lauriat and 1 Chicken Lauriat with 3 halo-halo. When I arrived home to eat with my family and opened the food I got 1 bangus, 1 bangus with toccino and egg and chicken Lauriat. How disappointing to have these instead. I hope the guy preparing the food checked what was the order and the guy wrapping the food double check it. It is poor service as always and expected. These guy who took my order was very impolite and rude when taking orders too!

It was mediocre but I did not expect too much. The taho portion was very generous, though; and the fried bangus for breakfast was tastier compared to Jollibee. The bola bola siopao was not impressive.

Got here at 10:15pm but it was already closed. Maybe the time on here should be changed to 10pm instead.

I had the garlic chicken which overall was good but not for the price since it came only with a small yellow fried rice stump. Their«authentic» Filipino choices such as the tocino(which was too burnt for my taste) was oily and only came with a small rice portion and a fried egg. It was just me and my best friend and although I did get a drink and she got an Ube shake the total was $ 15+. The shake was good but it was my first time trying Ube as a shake, so my opinion on that isn’t really reliable. This meal did nothing to satisfy my Filipino food craving and I’m not going back here.

We were in town to visit my boyfriend’s family in Chula Vista. On the way back to Orange County, we decided to stop here to grab some lunch to go. We got two pork asado siapao for our ride home. We were in and out of there without a hitch. This parking lot is a clusterfuck especially since Starbucks has a drive-thru so beware!

Not my favorite location. Food can take long and not so friendly staff… The chicken was decent I would rather go to Popeyes or kfc! Maybe I just came in on a bad day perhaps?

I only come here for the Bangus meal(seasonal cravings) and as expected, it’s the same taste as what they have back in the Philippines. I read some reviews below and wondered why not having a trainee badge is a big deal. Some customers don’t like being taken care of with someone with a trainee badge but it seems like either way is an issue(«full instructions» won’t stick on your head if you’re still new and mistakes will happen during the first month or until the trainee’s third month). Make sure you clarify what you’re ordering and not assume that both you and the staff are on the same page. If the food portions were reduced then good! We need to watch our portions to avoid unnecessary trips to the hospital if you all know what i mean. Please… do not eat like as if there’s no tomorrow. LoL! The staff know what customer service is and here’s an example: I went there during the summer to buy Halo Halo for my friends but unfortunately they ran out(i didn’t get upset though, ‘coz this normally happens every summer) so what the staff did was they called their sister company Red Ribbon(which was only a couple of steps away) and asked if they have what i’m looking for. Luckily Red Ribbon still have some halo halo so i went there instead. My point to this was they went out of their way to help me instead of just saying«try and go to red ribbon and see if they have it». This was an experience worth coming back to this place, and i’m sure the ones who gave negative reviews still comes back to this place too. Place is clean and bright, including the restroom which is good. I never waited more than 20min for my food or dessert and if they asked you to wait, ALWAYS ask WHY and not put in a neg. review without any reason at all(maybe you ordered half of what’s printed on the menu, i don’t know LoL) I love the wireless onsite paging(so i can just talk to my friends or play with my phone and not pay attention until they buzz me LoL) i also appreciate the total calories that comes with every meal so for calorie counters this one’s for y’all :-) Chowking is not my favorite fast food chain but i try to be fair with my reviews, and oh! it’s time to get my bangus meal… hahaha!

Later post… Need 0 stars! Management if you’re training someone then give them full instructions or have them wear a trainee badge or stay with them. We order our meals which you can add a drink on for $ 1 extra. I ask«is it only soda or can we get the Thai Tea…» the young lady answers«yes ma’am what do you like.» Us «Thai tea.» Another worker comes up looks at the screen taps on it and I’m not good at math but my hubs before I pay says the charge isn’t right… we look at the receipt and they charge us full price for drinks after I asked if it was extra then it gets worse they run out of the food we ordered and tell us after we have waited for 10 minutes. We won’t be back and their food isn’t any better than the food.
